Porto - must be visited: Porto has an excellent new airport (received ACI Airport Service Quality awards last year) and several companies operating. Ryanair established recently a hub. Airport is connected to the city centre by Metro.
One of the oldest cities in Europe, Porto has enjoyed World Heritage classification since 1996. Perched on the banks of river Douro, one of its six bridges was designed by Gustave Eiffel, whose signature touch is immediately recognised.
Along these very banks, visit the iconic cellars and discover more than 30 Port wine labels, most of which are world-famous.
Within the town of Porto itself, lovely vast panels of Portuguese tiles, in all number of intricate designs and colours, can be admired in Carmo Church, Almas Chapel, the interior of Sao Bento station and indeed along many of its rustic streets. The town is equally rich in historic monuments and outstanding examples of Baroque architecture, such as Sao Francisco, the Santa Clara churches, town hall.
Porto - Comtemporary architecture: In more recent years, Porto has carved an enviable reputation for its contemporary architecture, two laureate Pritzker prize Siza Vieira (1992) and Souto Moura (2011) including modern designs such as the Serralves Comtemporary Art Museum and House of Music, both of which host permanent exhibitions and shows.
By train one day journay: Costa Verde lies in the Northern region of Portugal, and includes wonderful, charming cities such as Braga, Guimaraes and Viana, all located just 50 – 70km from Porto. Day trips are easily organised from Porto’s Sao Bento Station.
Don't miss Douro valley, also a World Heritage landscape, train from Sao Bento station, goes up the river Douro to the vineyards where Port Wine is produced.

Prime location you can visit all major venues just walking. Near to tradicional cafes, restaurants, main pedestrian shopping street, monuments and close to all types of transport - Metro, Bus, tramway, train (Guimaraes /Braga and Douro) and bus to Lisbon or Vigo/Santiago Compostela.
The Porto Downtown Studios is found in a excellent location in Porto. It is
close to all the major attractions in the historical center and to
the Ribeira river area (about a 15 minute walk). The studio is a large
airy room with all the necessary facilities for a couple. It is very clean and well maintained.
No less important the owner Jaime provides excellent customer service and is there
upon arrival to give map, tips and advice. He maintains contact by mail or sms for any
further information or requests (he ordered a cab to take us to the airport). Mature couples
should be advised that there is no elevator in the building but the steps are not steep.
If the windows are kept open there is noise coming in from the busy street below - but
is quiet during the late evening hours. I highly recommend this property to all.

We thoroughly loved our time in Porto. The apartment is comfortable, bright, welcoming and quite spacious for a studio. We walked to most of the sights and all the amenities are a few steps away. Jaime, a charming gentleman, cheerfully greeted us and gave us an excellent overview of Porto. We certainly would recommend this property to friends.
The owner was very pleasant, helpful, and no problems checking in/out. He had the baby crib and high chair all set up. The Apt was spacious and in a nice location. It worked well for us
Clean, airy studio with all the perks! Great location, nice shower with plenty of hot water, great kitchen and fun view overlooking Porto. Lively fado show across the street - if the weather is nice and they open the doors, you are treated to a free concert. Jaime was awesome and helped confirm some reservations that would have been tricky . Have fun!
Perfect for us .comfortable and very central.
Lots of information give .
Public transport great .
Brilliant location- airport is 20 mins away on the metro then a 5 min walk to the apartment. It has all you need- I stayed in studio 3 and had a hairdryer, clean towels, dishwasher etc. All clean on arrival. There is air con too- it does get hot in the upstairs loft but if yo uleave the aircon on with wondows closed it is fine. location- 3 mins walk to the centre whrere you can catch the 500 bus to the beach which is a longer, but more scenic route than others. it costs 2.30 euros return and is c.40 mins. nightlife- dotted around really, there are a few cute little bars that are popular with locals, but you have yto go on an adventure to find them. they are about a 20 min stroll away. the only thing i ca say which is slightly bad about this flat is it on the third floor so you have to be fit to get to it. overall 10/10 though!
We recently stayed for five nights in Jaime’s Studio I in downtown Porto. The studio has a great view of street life but it is high enough off the street to be quiet in the evening. It’s an amazing central location for touring Porto is one block from Sao Bento train and metro stations. Jaime met us at the studio and gave us great advice on touring Porto, traveling by rail, arranging Taxi’s etc. Everything in the studio was perfect and Jaime was even insistent on replacing a light bulb that was out. It was very comfortable for the two of us, clean and neat.
Charming, brand new, renovated stylish studios nestled in Porto’s World Heritage District.
