About the property

Sailing Yacht Three Moons

Three Moons Caribbean Charter Yacht is a luxury vessel fully equipped with everything you may need during your Virgin Islands adventure! Friendly crew, gourmet cuisine, and a slew of activities and entertainment await you.

Our mission is to provide our customers with the greatest vacation or most memorable event of their lives. We will achieve this goal by striving to understand each of our customers’ needs and supplying them with clean, comfortable, seaworthy vessels with expert crews.

Three Moons is a 72-ft. sailing yacht. It was specially constructed for Caribbean Yacht Charters. She has everything you need to enjoy the water, boat and many of the islands’ activities. Our award-winning crew will make sure your experience aboard Three Moons is exceptional.

The yacht accommodates a maximum of eight guests for up to eight days/seven nights.

Guests have access to four generously sized, air-conditioned staterooms, each with a private bathroom; the crew lodges in separate quarters. The spacious salon offers comfortable seating for six and the dining table seats up to eight people. Guests are always welcome to use the fully stocked bar and ice maker, but the captain or first mate will mix up their special cocktails for happy hour.

Soak up the sun on the large deck, which boasts several cushioned areas. If you prefer the shade, relax on the covered cockpit. The aft deck is ideal for socializing and stargazing.

Three Moons is a smooth, stable-sailing yacht. It hardly ever heels more than 15-20 degrees.

Her Crew:

Captain Gary Messick. Gary grew up in Annapolis, Maryland, on the Chesapeake. His family always enjoyed boating, skiing and fishing as well as visits to the beach.

In 1994, he sailed out of the Chesapeake on his 32-foot Westerly for a year of sailing that took him to Bermuda, the Virgin Islands and finally Key West. He made Key West home for the next 5 years.

It was during this adventure that Gary developed a passion for diving and biking as well as sailing. In 1999, Gary and his wife, Jane, returned to St. Thomas chartering their 50-foot Gulfstar, Lady Jane.

After another 6 years of chartering, they settled in St. Petersburg, Florida, always returning several times a year to the Virgin Islands for an occasional charter.

Gary is very excited to join Three Moons as Captain. He looks forward to being able to share his experience and passion for the islands, both on land and underwater, exploring magnificent worlds to enjoy.

Chef Biggi Dodson-Chef Biggi was born and raised in Germany. While working at a French restaurant one summer, she fell in love with the art of fine cuisine and decided cooking delicious food for others was her destiny. Chef Biggi has cooked on yachts in the Caribbean for more than a decade. After settling in the U.S. Virgin Islands, she began catering weddings, dinner parties and business events as well as offering personal chef services around the islands.

Chef Biggi will make you feel right at home as soon as you step aboard Three Moons. She uses only the freshest and most sustainable ingredients available, giving guests a quintessential taste of the Virgin Islands. If you have special dietary needs, Chef Biggi is happy to customize a menu for you.

Chef Biggi delights in good food and wine, and fishing. She speaks English, French and German fluently.

First Mate Justin Perry- grew up in Grapeland, Texas. However, being the first mate on a 72' sailing vessel in the Caribbean is not the usual career path of someone who grew up in the piney woods. In 2010, he worked on the operations team of Sail Caribbean, a sailing summer camp for teens, in the BVI. He eventually moved to St. Thomas, USVI, finally trading in those wrangler jeans and cowboy boots for board shorts and flip-flops. He has served as the Operations Director and Fleet Captain at Sail Caribbean, Deckhand/Engineer, handyman and mechanic, and sous-chef to Biggi Dodson. He’s always working and having fun, especially when he fulfills his role as the Watersports Engineer aboard Three Moons.

Perry has a passion for sailing, food, hiking, woodwork, and making sure everyone around him enjoys the Caribbean lifestyle. He is very familiar with the Virgin Islands and can point you to some of the best snorkeling, hiking, water sports, bars and restaurant spots.

What an amazing adventure and a fantastic vacation. The time on the sea was peaceful and relaxing and the destinations were excellent. Thank you for taking us on the trip of a lifetime. Biggi- as you know, many of us are good people and you continued to impress and delight us with every meal. Our compliments to the chef-over and over again! Travis- is there anything you don't do? Thank you for your superb sailing skills, your diving knowledge, excellent cocktails, contribution to whichever Catch Phrase or Heads Up team you were on etc. etc. etc. Oh, and nice moved on the dance floor. Roy- you certainly are the host with the most! Thank you first and foremost for making your boat available for guests like us. Thank you for unending generosity and service. From having our rooms made up before we were finished with breakfast, to meeting each of us at the top of the ladder with a towel- your attention to detail and care of each one of us was totally appreciated. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Roy, Travis, & Biggi,

Thank you for so taking care of us on this amazing adventure!! To be with you all was such a privilege - your joy, your humor, your generosity, your lives, your stories- just each of you. How you each managed to become part of us but still be our stewards was so graceful. I know we've made great friends be virtue of sharing this lovely time, and I know that whether or not we meet again, each of you, and Three Moons, will always be a part of us. Thank you for everything and much love to you all,
