About Angelina Roditis
I live in Santorini since 1999. It's listed in the 10 most desired destinations in the world. After one visit you will understand why. I grew up in the city of Anaheim, Orange County CA in the US and graduated from CSUF. Although growing up in the city I would not trade my life on the island as it has much to offer. First and foremost ,for me, I enjoy the natural environment, the clean air, the food, the beaches and the quiet lifestyle during off season. I would like to share with you all that I know about the island and get to know the greek culture and life of the locals. You may rest assured that your vacation will be a lifetime memory!
Why Angelina Roditis chose Megalochori
Destiny brought me to this place and I have no regrets. Our ancient ancestors used to say that "escaping destiny is impossible" and I truly believe that. This home is built from scratch and it offers comfort and privacy.
What makes this House unique
The home has a beautiful panoramic view and everything is close by. I'm committed and fully dedicated, at your request, in providing great service along with all the information you will need for sightseeing, events and or activities you might engage in while you are here.

We had a wonderful experience staying at Vigneti Luxury Villa. Angelina was very prompt in responding to our initial inquiry and any other questions we had prior to our stay. We are not fans of driving internationally, so Angelina helped us arrange transportation to and from the villa. The villa itself is absolutely beautiful -tastefully designed and impeccably clean. It had nice linens and bedding and all of the extra amenities-toiletries, robes, slippers, coffee pods,pool/beach towels. The kitchen had everything one would need for cooking. Angelina greeted us upon arrival with a bottle of wine along with a items in the refrigerator for us to enjoy for breakfast. She then treated us to a delicious lunch along with fun conversation. She was even gracious enough to drive us to the supermarket afterwards so that we could get some supplies. The outdoor space was fantastic-nice sun beds and we enjoyed cooling off in the jacuzzi. A barbeque is also available which we did not use but other guests on the property enjoyed.
The property is located about a 10 -15 minute drive to Fira. Having a car would be ideal but we managed okay with the bus that stops close to the villa. We didn't get to spend much time in Megalochori but did take a quick walk through the charming village. Many wineries are also close by-in fact the property is surrrounded by vineyards! The property is located on a main road and since it was busy tourist time, we could hear some noise from the road. Although, still probably much quieter than staying in Fira! Angelina was on site to help us with arrangements throughout our stay and we enjoyed getting to know her. Thank you for making our vacation special!
Thank you so much for the nice review Gina, I so loved hosting your stay and meeting you and Dave. I'm happy you enjoyed the home and your vacation on the island.
Santorini, especially in the summer months, is quite a busy island due to its popularity and unfortunately it is beyond my control to minimize the traffic on the street. The best black sand beaches are only 5 min from the house therefore they have to drive through Megalochori. Nevertheless, the beautiful secluded beach, also 5 min away, offers great relaxation, quality service and definitely less crowd. Santorini has a lot to offer with many options catering to people's needs and tastes.
Thank you once again for your preference in my home and for the thorough review which I'm sure it will help your fellow travellers.
The pleasure was all mine having you as my guests and really look forward to seeing you and Dave again on a future trip out to Greece.
The home is centrally located and one can easily access all parts of the island. There is a bus stop 30 meters from the house -buses during summer months run every half hour to/from the beaches, the other villages nearby as well as the archaeological site in Akrotiri and to/from the main center town of Fira (capital town of Santrorini) of which you may connect with buses to other parts of the island.
Most people visiting Santorini mainly like to go sightseeing, tour the archaelogical sites and museums, go to wineries and beaches, to Fira for nightlife entertainment, restaurants and shopping, photo shooting, exploring the walking paths, jogging, swimming, yacht cruising, helicopter riding and much more.
The old traditional settlement of Megalochori is a must see! Strolling through the narrow cobblestone streets you will see the main square hosting fine restaurants with an array of beautiful flowers all over. The churches with their tower bells and the traditional white cycladic homes are one of a kind and worth taking pictures.
For the wine lovers, there are 13 wineries on the island and all worth a visit. Three of the nicest wineries all unique are located within a few minutes from the villa. One being the Boutari winery which you'll walk through a little street amongst the vineyards. The winery has a domed ceiling theater of which you may watch a wine tour. The Gavalas winery dating bach to the 19th century is worth visiting as you'll see how the vinification process was done back in the days. And finally, Venetsanos winery which offers a stunning setting overlooking the caldera. You may watch the sunset while tasting fine wine.
Kamari beach is a long (about 5-6 km) pedestrial stretch with beachfront restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. It is a more of a cosmopolitan beach and it's great for dining and relaxation. You may also visit the ancient city of Thira from Kamari beach. It's accessible by car.
Another place you might want to visit if you enjoy movies is the outdoor cinema which is also located in Kamari, as it is rated one of the top 10 outdoor cinemas in the world!
The black sand beaches Perissa, Perivolos and Ag. Georgios are full of restauants, cafes, shops and water sports. Fun in the sun all day with music playing in beach bars. Most beaches on the island are organised with sunbeds and umbrellas.
The nightlife in Fira is splendid. It's the center town of the island and you can find there anything your heart desires. Restaurants, clubs, bars, jazz bars, coffee shops, jewelry and souvegnir shops, creperies, ice cream parlors, clothing stores, shoe stores, beauty salon services, beauty products, local products and much more all there waiting for you.
In Fira during the day you may take a donkey ride or the cable car and visit the old port and maybe hop on a boat to the volcano and also swim in the hot springs.
The archaeological museum is also in Fira depicting unique findings from the Akrotiri excavations.
A trip to Oia is not to be missed as it is a town of high class beauty. Mostly known for its sunsets and fresh seafood restaurants by Ammoudi Bay. Oia has many shops, restaurants, cafes, bakeries and several stores for your dining and purchases. The best bookstore rated by National Geographic is also in Oia. The cutest bookstore you will have ever seen.
