About Leslie Harris
Hi, We are Peter and Leslie .We live in Washington DC but have always dreamed of having a family home on Cape Cod where everyone can gather from 1 to 101!) We love exploring the outer Cape, swimming in the secret ponds, biking the paths in Provincetown and enjoying all that Wellfleet has to offer. We have a big dog who loves running and swimming in the ocean. Ask us about bringing your dog.
Leslie Harris purchased this House in 2014
Why Leslie Harris chose Wellfleet
Peter grew up in Connecticut so he is a New Englander. Leslie was born in Massachusetts but left when she was a child. Discovering the Cape felt like coming home. We knew if we ever bought a vacation home, it would be in Wellfleet. We are learning to be Welfleetians and love its history and small town feel. We found our house in the middle of a snow storm. It was only half built but we both knew it was right.
What makes this House unique
We love the quiet street, and the view from the porch into deep woods of the Herring River Estuary. We see all kinds of wild life in the early evening, once even a coywolf. The great room makes the house special, large enough for everyone to gather and to eat , the porch is where we gather in the early evening and in cooler weather, the gas fireplace warms the whole house. We also like having one master on the ground level. Lets us have lots of guests and still have our private space.

PERFECT Vacation home for larger family stay
Although this home looks beautiful in the pictures, it absolutely exceeded our expectations. It was perfect for our multi generational group of 8. Very open and bright and was bigger than it seemed from the pictures. Artfully decorated with paintings, beautiful framed pictures, interesting decor, a beach town flair and relaxing colors. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare your own meals (BYO food, of course). Screened in porch was a relaxing spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. Or a nap for grandma in the lounge chairs on the deck! Owner provides convenient options- towels and sheets, if needed. Wonderful coffee table books - especially the fancy chickens book! Nice location on the Cape- away from the very touristy areas but still a close drive to your destinations of choice! Loved the biking, kayaking, drive in theater, shopping, winerys, beaching, seal cruising, ice cream, eating seafood, eating seafood, eating seafood! Highly recommend this lovely Welfleet "home away" from our home in CT. Thank you Leslie!
Thanks Susan. I am so glad you enjoyed your vacation at Rose Cottage. It is our happy place and we are thrilled when our guests feel the magic that is Wellfleet. Please come back next year when the newly planted blueberries should be ready to pick! And glad to like my book on fancy chickens🐔.
Wonderful house. Our third time. Responsive caring owners
Great setup for a family with kids/ grandkids. Large sunny common space
Wonderful house and beautifully landscaped property
We have been staying in Wellfleet for well over 25 years and this is by far the nicest home we have stayed in. The property is beautifully landscaped with rose bushes and hydrangea. The house is well stocked with basic needs and plenty of glasses / dishware and kitchen items.
The beds are very comfortable and we loved all the IKEA furniture. The screened in porch is roomy with plenty of seating and a ceiling fan. This is a keeper, we will be back.
Beautiful property on the most beautiful town on Cape Cod
This was the first time staying at Rose Hill. My sister stayed last year and recommended it highly. I will do the same! The house is in a beautiful setting, all the amenities you need, it is clean and well laid out. Leslie's directions for our stay were very thorough and much appreciated. We had a great time and thanks for everything. Donna
Thank you Donna. Peter and I are so glad that your family had a great vacation at Rose Hill. Please come visit us again.
Beautiful house in a convenient location
The house is comfortably set up and beautifully decorated. It is close to everything Wellfleet on a quiet side street. There is sleeping room for 10, but the house is really ideal for 8 (8 dining room chairs, 8 sets of silverware). We had a power outage the morning of our departure, and hosts were very accommodating with laundry and clean-up. Thank you for a lovely stay!
We loved everything about this house and felt more "at home" here than at any other rental we have had on the Cape. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!! ❤ ❤
Suzanne, So glad that you felt at home at Rose Cottage. You are always welcome back.
Wellfleet is an historic fishing village first visited by the Pilgrims before they settled in Plymouth. You can rent boats in the harbour, visit the many art galleries, listen to music at the summer series on Mayo beach, kayak and paddle board on the bay, the salt marshes and ponds, swim in the town beaches , the national park beaches, surf in the ocean, swim in the hidden ponds, attend live theatre and summer concerts and other events, wander through the farmers markets, play in the town playground, enjoy the old fashioned holiday parades, eat at great restaurants, hike through the nature preserve and many other trails and visit the close by towns of Truro and of course Provincetown for great restaurants, clubs and the annual Pride parade in August.
