Overview

About the property

Step back in time and enjoy staying in a rustic, one room log cabin on a 10 acre forested property just 10 minutes away from beautiful sandy ocean beaches, well-maintained hiking and walking trails and many interesting local attractions. Our cabin is small (just 225 sq ft), but clean and cozy inside, and we have added some modern amenities to make your stay more comfortable - a Queen-sized bed, a well-equipped kitchenette and a 3 piece bathroom including a hot shower. High speed internet and cable TV are also provided. Hosts home is close enough to easily offer assistance, travel advice and friendly interaction when desired, but far enough away to allow you privacy. Our central location between Victoria and Long Beach/Tofino make it a great stop on your way to exploring beautiful Vancouver Island , but we suggest that you stay a little longer and enjoy the many scenic attractions Errington and the Oceanside communities have to offer, or just relax on the cabin deck and enjoy the peace and quiet of the rural surroundings.

Notes:
Our cabin is the perfect place to relax and unwind in a natural setting, and is central to a myriad of walking and hiking opportunities, at all different levels of difficulty, in a very beautiful part of Vancouver Island. You can explore beaches, forests, lakes, waterfalls, caves, Provincial Parks, horseback riding, - all within a short drive. Many of our guests stop in on their way to or from Victoria (2 hours away) or Tofino and Long Beach (2 1/2 hours away). We are an easy drive (30 - 40 minutes) from the BC Ferry terminals in Nanaimo. There are many artists and artisans in the area and dozens of great local eating establishments, from fast food to fine dining and everything in between. In the summer months there are farmer's markets, and evening street markets, in Errington, Parksville and Qualicum Beach, a couple of which continue year round.

Adorable cabin, great location

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was easy to find and close to a lot of great sites. Comfortable inside with thoughtful touches. Could have benefited from self check-in (ie: keypad or leaving the key out somewhere for guests)

Incredible!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time visiting the Island and being able to call this little cottage home for a week. It’s comfy cozy but has everything you need for a vacation spot. Clean and well taken care of. Our hosts were fabulous! Allowed us our privacy but were there when we needed them. I could not recommend this place more. We will be visiting again in the future!

A Welcoming and Cosy Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We were made to feel at home on arrival by Jack and Shelagh his wife, was very thorough, with providing the directions from the car hire centre and even getting some maps of the island for us to use.

The pretty cabin was kitted out, with everything you needed and nothing was too much trouble. We also enjoyed the rural tranquility, whilst still be in a good location to visit all the amazing places Vancouver island had to offer. Tofino is 2 1/2 hrs away, Victoria 2hrs and Campbell River 90 minutes.

Overall a great little cabin, and remember "what happens in the cabin, stays in the cabin" ;) Thank you Shelagh and Jack.

Overall comfy and well equipped...though tiny.

  • 4 of 5

Address is a little hard to see...my only other request, if room could be made, would be a comfy chair...possibly decrease the table size? Amazing how you can have all amenities in 250 sq.ft.though! Hosts are very friendly and helpful.

Outstanding Stay and amazing value for money

  • 5 of 5

Everything we hoped it would be! Ideal for a couple looking for a cosy quiet stay in rural Canada. The cabin is cosy and has everything you need for your stay. Great location - lots to do in the near vicinity - we would recommend the animal rescue centre, 5 mins drive away - home to black bears and raptors. On our arrival we were delighted with how clean and how much character the cabin was. Freshly made cookies left for us on the table!!! Thanks and I hope we will be back to Canada one day, and we will stay here again definitely.

Peaceful and comfy

  • 5 of 5

This was a great find for us, in that it was approx. 1 km. distance from our daughter's home in Errington. It is a very compact space; however it has everything that you need within the range of 3 giant steps. We will definitely book here again.
