Great Relaxing Location!
We had a great time exploring Somerset and Bermuda the past four days. Awesome that you can walk to H2O water sports, for groceries, and to a couple restaurants. We rented a boat one day and went over to Elys Harbor and a few great snorkeling spots and beaches we could pull up to and have to ourselves!! Thank you for a great rental experience for our family of 4👍
Beautiful property, quiet with great access to Mangrove Bay and transportation options.
The scale of the house was perfect for a family of three but can comfortably fit the maximum five people. We thoroughly enjoyed the architecture and setting/siting of the cottage. The yard was large and was bounded by wonderful landscaping and a great group of trees that provided shade and bird watching opportunities. Lots of natural sounds from tree frogs, the great kiskadee as well as abundant rooster calls.
Close to the Post Office for purchase of public transport passes and The Market Place for grocery supplies. Short walk to the bus stop for Route 7 and 8 buses and Watford Bridge and Cavelo Bay ferry stops into Hamilton (available commute time morning and evening) Access to Mangrove Bay was very convenient and the snorkeling was great.
Close to the Railtrail entrance off of Beacon Hill Road. Overall a great place to stay and provided a very relaxing setting for down time with the family
Beautiful, private, peaceful retreat
Absolutely loved having Coach House to call “Home” during our stay in Bermuda. We found it clean, well stocked (everything you need to cook, shower, clean, etc), and cozy. The lawn area is beautiful- and the covered porch is a great place for morning coffee.
The private beach area isn’t connected to the property like we thought (our mistake for not reading thoroughly); however, we enjoyed snorkeling there immensely!!! Sea turtles were there to greet us everyday :)
Definitely recommend this home for anyone looking to experience Bermuda away from the crowded hotels!!!
A Blissful Getaway at Coach House
We are so thankful to have stayed at Coach House during our Bermuda vacation. It has a beautiful kitchen, two nice bathrooms, accommodations that easily slept 5 of us, and an outdoor eating area. We took advantage of the 5 minute walks to H20 water sports and to Long Bay Beach and swim with turtles! Beth provided a great guide for exploring the island with good insights about what the island has to offer. Definitely would come again!
Far Exceeded Expectations
This was the perfect spot for our family vacation. We couldn't believe how much space this "cottage" offered. Huge piece of land too. My family of 5, with 3 teenagers, were never on top of each other; and everyone slept comfortably. Super clean, and updated kitchen and baths. Two showers a big plus. There are several dining options where all can sit: eat-in kitchen table, island bar stools, or outdoor patio table. The place is stocked with everything you need, and my next wife will be as organized as this host. Highly recommend if you want to live like a local and have privacy. I also highly recommend renting scooters to get around the island.
Clean, nice size, very convenient
This was our first time in Bermuda. There were 5 of us total, my wife and I and our 3 kids (ages 10-14). There was plenty of room indoors, more than enough dishes and blankets and sheets, and the access to a washer and drier in the basement was very helpful when planning on visiting for more than a few days. There was a very nice patio area with enough seating for dinner outside.
The private beach is small, secluded, and shaded, but it was nice having it only be a few minute walk away. Somerset Long Bay is only a few minutes more in the other direction (like many beaches in Bermuda, there's trash on the beach including sharp broken glass, wear sandals or water shoes), and Daniels Head (where we were able to snorkel with sea turtles) was another 10-15 min past that.
Bus access from the house was good, the bus stop by the post office is only 5 or so minutes walk, but in the mornings you have to catch some of the buses near the Marketplace grocery store, which is still within a 15 minute walk. The buses can get you to the main beaches and to the ferries with a little planning.
Overall we had a very good experience and if we are ever back in Bermuda we'd definitely come back to Coach House. Beth was very helpful and responsive to questions.
Coach House is located between Cambridge Beaches and Somerset Village. The cottage is set in a private garden and has it's own waterfront and tiny beach a short walk down Tween Walls on Mangrove Bay. The large yard and calm waters are ideal from families with children. The natural beauty of Mangrove Bay may be enjoyed from the water on sailboats, kayaks, and motor boats available at H2O sports a short walk from the Cottage. Paddle around the island and through Somerset Bridge, famous for being the smallest drawbridge in the world. Rent bicycles from the kiosk at Cambridge Beaches and take a ride on the Railroad Trail that runs the length of the island. For history buffs and shoppers, Dockyard is just a short bus ride. The beautiful beaches of the South Shore are also a short bus ride away.
