Sleeps 5 -- Master bedroom with queen bed and private bath; separate bedroom with two twin beds. A private living room with fire place and pull-out queen sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping space. Large and bright great room spills onto the porch. The house is in wonderful condition -- with a well-kept garden and fresh and clean interior. Enjoy the garden from the porch -- for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Take a short walk down Tween Walls to enjoy the property's private waterfront with wonderful views of Mangrove Bay, Somerset Village and the point at Dock Yard. Venture down the steps to the cottage's tiny, private beach backed by limestone cliffs.
My family history in Bermuda dates back to the 1600s. Coach House was built by my Great Uncle Jack and is where my grandmother lived in her later years.
Beth Snyder purchased this cottage in 1970
The Coach House was just perfect. It was so refreshing and relaxing to have such a positive 'end-to-end' experience. From the first email we sent, Beth was so responsive and helpful. Then when we had booked the information she provided regarding the house and surrounds was detailed and incredibly helpful. Then when we arrived, the house was exactly as pictured and exactly as described. It was clean, beautifully maintained and with every amenity. The house was close to the beach but also incredibly comfortable when we wanted time at home. It was pleasure to spend time in the garden, in the large kitchen or in the 2 living areas. We would highly recommend this residence to everyone - it was a fantastic time and a holiday experience together we will never forget.
My family of 4 are just back from Bermuda and our 5 day stay at “The Coach House” cottage. Very “Bermudian”, in both architecture and décor. It helps make you feel “settled” in Bermuda immediately, like your part of its fabric. As noted by the other reviews, very convenient to buses (I highly recommend a multi-day bus/ferry pass) and nearby beaches, as well as nearby restaurants (some walkable, the others a short ride to Dockyards). The kitchen is well updated, and the AC works perfectly. We spent the evenings out on the back porch area watching shooting stars and listening to the peepers. The bedrooms are roomy enough, with a queen in one and 2 twins in the other. All are comfortable. Baths are also updated, and very clean. We are charmed by Bermuda each time we go, and have now found a place to accommodate us all that delivers that same “charmed” theme – all very comfy and cozy. Thank you for sharing your lovely little cottage. We’ll be back.
Our third time in Bermuda, this place rises to the top with a perfect little private beach where we had each morning's coffee. Its a five minute walk down picturesque Tween Walls Road where the gate identifies this as Coach Houses private beach. The huge back yard is screened by dense plantings provide comfort, beauty and privacy. The house has all the comforts and a great kitchen for meals in - well maintained and spotless. A short walk to the bus stop and you are really close to the popular beaches or 9 minutes away from the restaurants and shops of the Dockyard. Somerset is a quaint village close by for dining, video rentals, coffee or the day's paper. We couldn't be more pleased with this property! Any questions we had were answered quickly and completely by Beth - who turns out to be a pretty credible watercolor artist as well! Highly recommended!
My husband and I and another couple enjoyed this beautifully maintained home which included all the amenities one could possibly require. We loved being able to walk to the bus stop, dine locally, and enjoy the very private and peaceful surroundings the cottage had to offer. For local dining, we had a delicious gourmet dinner at Cambridge Beaches, a short walk from Coach House. For a more casual meal, the Country Squire in the village offered great fish and chips which three of us enjoyed while I had a salad with the most heavenly grilled shrimp. We found out that we could take the ferry from Dockyard into Hamilton Harbor so we took advantage of that a couple of times. Golf at Riddles Bay was convenient, especially since we could rent clubs rather than bringing our own. Although the Coach House beach was small, it was very private and definitely welcoming after a round of golf! Beth provided a most thorough "Travel and Stay Instructions" which became our bible. We had only one inquiry and she responded almost immediately. All in all, we hope to return to the Coach House Cottage the next time we're in Bermuda.
Our family of 4 stayed at the Coach House for 3 nights having spent 2 weeks in Warwick. It was lovely to arrive to the spotless and very well equipped Coach House. The garden is large and well maintained with a great covered outdoor table area for breakfasts. House is spacious and even better than the photos. Private beach is small and not at the property but a short walk away. It was fun to go there once but we explored further afield too.
Highly recommended property. Very peaceful.
The Coach House was a wonderful choice for the four of us. Staying there made it possible to have breakfasts and an occasional meal there instead of having to rely solely on restaurants. The grocery store is an easy walk from the house-groceries are expensive so we brought some things along with us. The beds are comfortable and each bedroom has its own bathroom. If it had been warmer when we were there (March) we would have enjoyed having our meals on the verandah which overlooks a beautiful, peaceful backyard setting. It is very close to the bus stop and not far from a ferry. We especially enjoyed several restaurants in the Dockyards, less than a 10 minute bus ride-not so much the closest restaurant which is in walking distance, the Country Squire Pub (maybe they were having an off night). To a person, the people we met along the way, whether it was at a bus stop, the bus drivers or walking down the lane were very friendly, helpful and always had a greeting. It's lovely!
We emailed the owner a couple of times during our stay with some questions and a reply came immediately.
We had a terrific stay!
Coach House is located between Cambridge Beaches and Somerset Village. The cottage is set in a private garden and has it's own waterfront and tiny beach a short walk down Tween Walls on Mangrove Bay. The large yard and calm waters are ideal from families with children. The natural beauty of Mangrove Bay may be enjoyed from the water on sailboats, kayaks, and motor boats available at H2O sports a short walk from the Cottage. Paddle around the island and through Somerset Bridge, famous for being the smallest drawbridge in the world. Rent bicycles from the kiosk at Cambridge Beaches and take a ride on the Railroad Trail that runs the length of the island. For history buffs and shoppers, Dockyard is just a short bus ride. The beautiful beaches of the South Shore are also a short bus ride away.
