My cabin is in the magnificent Icelandic NATURE, it´s close to Volcanos, riverfalls, geysers, glaciers, sea, hiking trails etz and only 50 min drive from the capital Reykjavík and 20 min drive from next city Selfoss, still so privat, peaceful and quiet. You’ll love my place because of the coziness and the neighborhood and the happy birds that feed from our terrace. My cabin is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). It´s surrounded with love, magic and elves
You'll love my Cabin, the garden, with large trees blocking all wind within the garden so the summers can get very warm (A VERY rare quality in Iceland!). Its only approx 50 min (75km) drive from Reykjavík, the capital and only 20 min drive from next village, Selfoss. The location is perfect as it is in the middle of all the tourist attractions in South Iceland but you will still have all the privacy you want to have and feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.
My cabin is a fully modernized cabin, recently redesigned that has all the kitchen utensils, refrigerator, dish washer, stove and oven, shower, washing machine, dryer, TV, DVD player, a hair dryer and a WiFi. There are two bedrooms with bed‘s for 4 adult's. Sheets, linen and towels are included in the price as well as soap, shampoo and washing liquid for the washing machine. All the water in the cabin (from sink's and shower) is heated up with electricity (its not geo-thermal water) so it does not smell like sulphur like in most of the houses in Iceland.
I love gazing at the Northern lights in the Hot tub! The best seats in Iceland for sure! :)
In the summertime there are garden furniture on the deck, were you can sit and enjoy your coffee watching the birds and breathing the fresh Icelandic air.
*** NEW HOT TUB HAS ARRIVED JULY 2018 ***
We just received a brand new Hot tub that do not contain chlorine but SALT WATER which is much better for your skin. Some chemical-based water quality systems can leave your skin dry and irritated. Salt, on the other hand, makes the water feel soft and is gentle on your eyes and skin. Even after your soak, you can continue to experience the benefits of salt water’s gentle exfoliating and rejuvenating properties.
For centuries, people have traveled to mineral springs to bathe in the waters and experience their restorative powers. These hot springs, which draw their heat from beneath the earth’s crust, are inherently self-sustaining. In this way, they’re much like modern salt water hot tubs, which are designed to generate their own natural cleansing and soothing properties.
Our new high-quality salt water hot tub is as close as we can come to recreating the experience of a mineral spring at our cabin. Better still, you can soak in privacy while enjoying the bird's singing or the Northern lights dancing. By adding the benefits of salt water hot tub we can reap all the advantages of bathing in a mineral spring without leaving the peace and comfort of our backyard.
Minimum age of renting guest is 24 years. I expect clean and respectful guests, who will enjoy my cabin the same way as I have done throughout the years. There's a strict No-Smoking policy inside the cabin and outside in the hot tub, but feel free to sit outside on the porch if you smoke. It can be really cold during the winter (and summer haha), most of the time you'll have nice weather during the summers, but the view will always amaze you. The cabin can host 4 adult's in two bedrooms. House rules will be on display on a paper ready at the cabin for you to read through upon arrival (don't worry, it's not lengthy boring read :) )
From the cabin you can easily drive to all of the main tourist attractions in South Iceland like Þingvellir (20 min), Geysir, (35 min), Gullfoss (40 min), Sólheimar (10 min), Laugarvatn (15 min), Reykholt (15 min), Skálholt (15 min), Kerið (5 min), Landmannalaugar (3 hours), Hekla (volcano), Eyjafjallajökull (volcano), Seljalandsfoss (1,5 hours), Skógarfoss (1,5 hours), Jökulsárlón (4 hours), Hveravellir (2,5 hours), Þjórsárdalur (50 min), Háifoss (1 hour), Bláa lónið (Blue lagoon, 1,5 hours), Reykjanes, Hraunfossar (2,5 hours), Hvolsvöllur (saga centre 1 hour), Flúðir (30 min), and many other places.
