This apartment is part of a typical Sicilian 'Palazzo' and has a private access to the sea. From the terrace you can admire a sweeping view over the bay of the small fishing village called Pozzillo and the sea. It is located on the ‘Lemon Riviera', the coast between Catania and Taormina, so-called due to the infinite number of lemon groves. In summer Pozzillo is a seaside destination for the islanders who enjoy diving off the wooden platforms. When you plunge into the sea in front of the house it feels as you are diving straight into your own private salt-water pool. The ground floor comprises a lounge with satellite TV, DVD player and wireless internet, a kitchen, a dining table and a bathroom. The top floor comprises a bathroom with shower, bidet & toilet, a bedroom with double bed and one bedroom with two single beds (can be joint as double). Parts of the upper floor are made of glass creating a unique look-through from the bedrooms on the sea rocks. All rooms have air-conditioning.
We have been with Homeaway since 2006, proposing houses that are able to unfold Sicily's colours and charm at best.
Houses with quality furnishing in unique locations, with incredible views or with a pool, always accurately selected in order to satisfy our main wish: to see you falling in love with Sicily just like we did.
We provide you with transparent information and true pictures. What you see is exactly what you get. We will advise you as much as we can about travel info, transfers and car rental.
Dinners in villas and other extra services can also be arranged. Finally, our prices are final rates! There are no hidden additional costs. We are flexible with your arrivals and departures and if you need a late check-in this is usually possible.
Beautiful surroundings, great location. Light and spacious house with sea view from the balcony. The home owners were very friendly. You can buy fresh fish from the little stall in the harbor or go to one of the great restaurants nearby (ask the owners).
fantastic appartment , the village is very quiet and as long as you have a car there is plenty to see and do in the local area, sunsets from the harbour with mount etna in the background are amazing , key point to remember is the supermarkets shut at funny times but you soon get used to this !
The apartment was clean and tidy, tastefully laid out with magnificent views across the quiet harbor. A car is essential as the location is in a very quiet area with no local bars or restaurants. The major downside to the apartment is that it is opposite a jetty (not shown on any photographs) that has cars with amorous locals coming and going late into the night with headlights beaming, this means that you cant sit inside or outside in the evenings with the lights on in the apartment you are permanently on show!

Beautiful house right on the sea with lovely swimming straight off the rocks.Facilities adequate and local shop stocking everything necessary and local produce. Quiet, peaceful and you need a car to see the rest of the area. Take the tiny train that goes round the base of Etna (behind Roposto station). So much to do but this lovely tranquil cottage to return to. Highly recommended.
Welcome good and owner friendly.
No beer glasses, limited cutlery. The hot water is a bit hit and miss it runs off a gas canister which you may need to change while there. Beds are firm!
Quiet at night when the local motor scooters etc have gone from the harbour walls.
Good to watch the fish catch being brought in.
Don’t fall for the fish by weight at Lorenzo’s , very expensive! Enjoyed the food at Barone in St Tecla. Best price at the Molinar in Santa Maria La Scala, but a bit of hike on the windy roads.
Best site visited Morgantina, great history.
Cannot pay on site so make sure all paid up front unless you are happy to carry a lot of Euros.
We were in this lovely cottage last May. It was very quiet and relaxed. The view from the terrace is unbelievable: the wide open blue sea and just a few local fishermen on the rocks. We loved it that we were the only tourists in the small village of Pozillo. In the morning you can get excellent coffee and pastries at a tiny bar, a 5 minutes walk from the cottage. The locals are very friendly and make you feel welcome. And even if you are looking for more action, you can easily go to busy Taormina or swim at Isola Bella. But at the end of the day, you will be happy that you can return to this small quiet paradise in Pozillo. At night you can have great dinner at Aci Castello (pizzeria Dietro la muro, wonderfull local experience, best pizza ever), Aci Trezzo (Da Federico, for the dessert the lemon sorbetto is a must have), Acireale (L'Oste Scuro, delicious antipasti, great view). The best thing of all: the village of Pozillo is not mentioned in the Lonely Planet, so let's hope it will stay this way!
Pozzillo is an excellent base from which to explore eastern Sicily. The quaint fishing village lies halfway between Catania and Taormina and just five kilometres from Acireale (a pretty little city, built on a plateau of lava, that is known for its Baroque churches). Giardini Naxos, a seaside resort with beautiful sandy beaches, is just 25 kilometres from Pozzillo. Beside it we find Taormina ‘the pearl of the Mediterranean’ and the most exclusive seaside resort in Sicily. Its ancient Greek theatre is world famous for its extraordinary panoramic views. Santa Maria la Scala and Aci Trezza are pleasant seaside villages near Pozzillo. Travelling south, one hour’s drive away lies Syracuse.
Pozzillo is also an excellent base from which to explore Mount Etna and its surroundings. The villages of Etna, such as Trecastagni, Zafferana Etnea and Randazzo, are famous for their ancient lava flows, the architecture of their seventeenth century churches and their delicious local produce.
