Very nice villa with excellent views in Nisaki
We booked the villa two days before arrival and worked all details out with the owner. The villa was very nice and all clean. The villa is located some way up the hill side, so a car is a must. It is a very quiet and private. We were 100% happy about our stay.
We are pleased that this family had a good holiday and thank them for their kind comments, we try our best to make sure that everything is available so that you can enjoy your holiday in these peaceful surroundings.
We hope that those visiting Villas Kalypso will want to return again and again.
We loved our 2 week September stay at Kalypso villa. Its in our favourite part of Corfu, a very picturesque area with so many beautiful bays and beaches and still near enough for a trip to Corfu town with all its Venetian architecture and interesting old narrow streets and squares. The views from the villa were stunning and brought a big smile to our faces every day. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the quietness and privacy. We used the pool a lot and sunned and ate out on the various terraces. The road up is steep and very twisty but that's our experience of many Corfu Villas and off the track Greek roads and you can't have those views and quietness without a bit of height. You just need to take your time. We like being away from the main tourist strips and being in a more authentic setting and this little hamlet provided it. Angelina the housekeeper was an absolute dear. We wished we could have spoken Greek to her but a good hug and lots of smiles nullified the language barrier. Our weather was excellent, some rain and one stormy day where the sea reminded us of Cornwall, but that's to be expected in Corfu, after all it is the greenest island. The temperature was a fairly steady 30 degrees day time which worked for us. We enjoyed the poor little one eyed cat who visited as well as the odd lizard, praying mantis and the bats at sunset. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend. A very relaxing holiday and a touch of paradise. We hope to return.
Nice Villas! Awesome for a relaxing holiday
We were a group of 7 guys in a rush as always to find a place to stay for our "Corfunian" holiday.
I admit that we booked this villa as a last resort.. finding a house which can host 7 people is pretty hard!
Some days before the check in I asked Peta (the Owner) the correct address. Landed we hired a car (extremely necessary if you wish to stay in villas Kalypso), put the address into the satnav and arrived in a completely different villa! Called Peta who tried in some ways to give us directions from the UK and finally we were taken to the correct address by a pizzaiolo!
Arrived in Villas Kalypso in the middle of the night I finally realized why the name is "Villas Kalypso"! It's about two villas one next to the other with a small shared pool. Two kitchens and beds enough to host 10 people! The closest beach is 15 minutes by car, it's called Nisaki Beach. Ipsos (the main nightlife center) is about 20 minutes by car.
Be aware that even if Peta is always available by phone, there's a woman who keeps the house and every day cleans the pool and takes the trash who doesn't speak English at all!! Apart from some "check-out according " we didn't have to communicate with the housekeeper. 100% recommended if you wish to have some relaxing holidays!!
Beautiful villa and lovely Angeljina
We stayed here for the last 10 days; a family of five with an 11yo, 7yo and 3yo.
I was worried the pool would be small from the pics but it was totally fine. It goes from quite shallow to reasonably deep; definitely over 5 feet deep as it was over my head and I'm 5'2. My elder two had a lot of enjoyment from it independently though we had to be on hand more for the baby but not in the sense of having to helicopter parent her.
The facilities were perfect. Plenty of room upstairs for us all to sleep though there was another double ensuite on the ground floor which we hardly needed to use. Kitchen was lovely. I remember my husband wondering if the vista would be as good as in the pics or whether it was canny photography. I can honestly say, every time I walked into the kitchen, the view look my breath away (and can be seen from the terrace next to the pool and the main terrace above which we really only used for evening meals).
The drive up the hill is slightly nervy. Get a small sized car but with a decent engine (at least a 1.2) but the drive up the hill is pretty similar to anywhere you want to drive in Corfu given the terrain. The one piece of advice I would have for Peta is to see if you can pin up some posts for the villa as we were sure we must have passed it (or put more info on the location part of this website) but once you get there the first time, it is fine.
The truly lovely Angeljina, made our trip. Unassuming, friendly and very smiley. She was very sweet to us and my kids loved her. If you go to Aphrodite's supermarket at the bottom of the hill, only get the essentials. It is shockingly expensive. Try to google bigger supermarkets locally. Didn't help us with the post-Brexit exchange rate.
Lastly, there are lots of local Tavernas which are all great. And we would recommend the hire boats at Agni and Nissaki. And Taverna Nikolas (Agni) and The Olive Press (Nissaki) though the one at the bottom of the hill to the villa is great also.
We will hopefully be back next year (if not in a half term before then!).
Jacinta, Guy, Aoife, Odhran and Iona.
Thank you Jacinta for your helpful and positive review, I am sure this will be a help for future guests and I take your point about finding the villas and road signs I will get something in place for next year. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your holiday at our lovely villas the view is to die for and we never get bored of looking out across the bay when we are there.
Angelina is an absolute treasure and we know that our guests are always looked after by her very capable hands.
We look forward to your coming back again soon.

Very enjoyable stay. My only suggestion is rent a small car. Little market and bakery at bottom of hill has everything you need. I recommend Agni beach about 15 min drive. Thank you for letting us stay in your house and look forward to staying again.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the villas and for your helpful tips.Peta and keith Donaghy
Great location with beautiful views of the sea in one of the nicest areas of the island. The villas have a nice swimming pool, plenty of space and all you need for a very nice holiday. As mentioned in the description, a car is definitely required. The owner is very responsive and helpful, everything was arranged very easily. In summary, we were very satisfied!
Apolosies is on the hillside above Nissaki on the north east coast and within just a few miles are the lovely beaches of Nissaki, Agni ,Kaloura and Kalami and further to the north, Kassiopi.
There are supermarkets in Nissaki and the beach there has many very good tavernas right on the waters edge.
Nissaki has water sports and a diving centre and you can hire a boat for trips along the bay. Barbati is just a few miles to the south and Ipsos is only a few more miles where you can find a more lively night life.
Kassiopi to the North has a lovely harbour surrounded by tavernas and there is also a range of shops.
Mount Pantokrator is the highest on Corfu and creates a backdrop to the villa you can drive to the top to see the views and the monestry.
