Quaint comfortable Cabin close to Kings Canyon Nation Park
We really enjoyed our stay at The Stansfield Cabin. It is conveniently located to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. It is quaint and comfortable and has a nice deck off the back. My wife is a bird watcher and she saw numerous different types of birds while sitting on the deck. The internet worked good, but there is no TV reception, which we didn't mind, as we were not there to watch TV. There is a TV with a DVR and numerous movies CD's to watch.
It show Pinehurst as a town on the map, but there really isn't anything there, just a few houses and the Pinehurst Lodge across the road. We picked up some groceries on our way there, breakfast stuff, fruit, etc. We tried the Pinehurst Lodge for dinner the first night, it was OK, not great. The next couple of nights we ate at Grants Grove in King's Canyon National Park at the end of our day, before heading back to the cabin. The food was very good.
We would definitely stay there again.
Well equipped and adorable in a very remote area
Glad we brought our food in
Enjoyable. The night skies were incredible.
Loved it, so cute
This cabin was really so cute. Living room, kitchen, bedroom, and a little dining area, we wish we could have stayed longer! There’s a deck out back where we had our breakfast before heading out and it was really a lovely way to start our road trip. Restaurant across the road is perfect for a dinner and drink at the end of a long day.
The cabin was amazing! Authentic, comfortable and filled with so many small yet helpful "incidentals". If you are looking for elegance and perfection, this may not be the place for you (it is a historical cabin), but if you are seeking peaceful serenity with excellent access to Kings Canyon & Seqouia, it's perfect!! I only wish we could have stayed longer. (On a side note, I text Melanie about my lost rx glasses and she went the next day, found and mailed them to me!)
Wonderful Little Cabin
This cabin has endearing historic charm, and the surrounding landscape is beautiful. The folks across the street at Pinehurst lodge were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The nearby picnic area is a wonderful place for a quick hike!
The cabin is in a remote location. There are no chain restaurants, grocery stores or banks. There are convenient stores in the park Hume Lake, Grant Grove and Lodge Pole. There are 2 fuel stations in the park; Hume Lake and Stoney Creek. Stoney Creek is not open year round.
