About David Howat
An English family now living and working in France
David Howat purchased this Villa in 2008
Why David Howat chose Valbonne
We bought the property because of the amazing forest and mountain views. The large pool, garden and tranquil setting were an added bonus as were the easy access to sites/beaches/villages. The villa has a lovely warm, feeling so we made the decision to buy within 5 minutes of first seeing the property!
What makes this Villa unique
Perfect for adults and children alike!

We'll be back!!
I couldn't recommend this property or the owners highly enough. David, Cathy and their children went out of their way to welcome us and insure that everything was ready for my disabled daughter - they even constructed temporary ramps for her wheelchair! The house was spotless, well furnished and confortable both inside and out. The views are spectacular from every level and the area is beautiful but quiet. It is a really central location - driving distance from everything the south of france has to offer - including Italy! If/when we go back to south of france, I would only stay here. I would recommend to anyone and everyone because the owners are so helpful that there is no insurmountable obstacle. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
We aim to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
Improvements this year include changes in the Garden with better side access to the pool area and improved outdoor cooking facilities: Built in BBQ and more.
The pool will also be converted to a salt water system so no chlorine taste.
New Electric gates improve the overall security and with tele-commands, ease of access by car is effortless.
Perfect Family Holiday
A beautiful villa, perfectly situated in the hills of Valbonne. It is a short drive to Valbonne town centre, with it's beautiful square and lovely restaurants. We ate out there twice during the week, and the rest of the time we made great use of the poolside BBQ and wonderful outdoor eating areas at the villa. We were two families with five little children in total (ranging from 12 months to 6 years old) and the villa was perfect. We also spent a fantastic day at Marineland/Aquasplash water park in nearby Biot (10 mins drive or so), a real bonus as we didn't realize there was such fun close at hand. David (the owner) was very helpful both in the build up to the holiday and afterwards, and Lisa (the English-speaking agent) was also lovely to deal with. Thoroughly recommend for a large family or two like us. We will be back!
Fabulous villa in stunning setting
We arrived at Nice airport, collected the hire car and within 20 minutes (following very good directions from David, the owner) were at the Villa. Oh, what an outstanding property, with a superb pool and wonderful views - the photos on the website really do give the true picture. The Villa's amenities were perfect, and the air conditioning was most welcome. The weather was all we could have hoped for during our week's stay. Loved Valbonne, St. Paul de Vence, Antibes and Cannes. The supermarche was only 3 minutes by car but just as easy to cycle down to the Patisserie for the morning croissants and baguettes. Our thanks to David and Cathy for the booking assistance and engaging excellent housekeeping for the changeovers. Would love to make a return visit.
Superb villa with amazing views!
We had a wonderful week at this superb villa. It was clean, spacious, superbly equipped with everything that a large family/group would want that included a dishwasher, iPod docks, Freesat TV (that is if you wanted to hide yourself away from the views etc!), Weber gas bbq, table tennis table, downstairs fridge and I could go on and on. As the description it is very private with no other property overlooking it and it doesn't overlook other properties either in a very quiet residential area. A salt water pool that didn't leave you smelling of horrible chlorine was cleaned by a robot every night was a great bonus. It was located within a very short drive/cycle of a Carrefour supermarket that had a great range of fresh fish. There was also a really nice patisserie nearby as well and a pharmacy. A ten minute drive took you into the charming village of Valbonne that had a good range of restaurants. The owner and their agent were really easy to deal with and gave some useful hints about the area. Would definitely recommend this place - superb.
We were delighted by our stay at the Valbonne property. David, the owner, ensured any special request we had could be met. As to the property itself, it is exactly as the ad claims. The swimming pool, amongst others, is outstanding by its cleaning system based on salt and not the usual chlorine chemicals. Staying by the pool is so pleasant that you may reluctantly leave to have a look at the region's numerous other jewels - old medieval villages, etc... Another plus is undoubtedly the small shopping center -including a pharmacy, a bakery and a supermarket - 10 minutes' walk away.
A property quiet and so close to everything
The house was well furnished and comfortable both inside and outside. It was clean and when we had some problem with the parasol or wifi access the owner provide us a solution for everything. The views are spectacular from every level and the area is quiet. We really appreciate the pool and the garden. Another advantage is that the property is close to the supermarket. I would recommend this property to everyone. Thank you very much because our staying was really pleasant.
The Villa is situated between the French villages of Valbonne and Biot surrounded by natural pine forests. Biot is famous for the largest marine park in Europe with dolphins and killer whales. Locally there are many typically Provencal villages such as St Paul de Vence and Valbonne itself display historic charm and excellent restaurants. Local amenities include a supermarket within 10mins walk and local restaurants and bars. Horse riding, tennis, golf and beaches are all located within a 15 min car drive.
Other Activities: Canyoning and tree rope adventure, cycling, walking, mountain biking
