This magnificent penthouse apartment has the 'wow factor' you have been looking for. Featuring 24 foot soaring vaulted ceilings, oversized windows and sliding doors to let in lots of light and complemented by a spacious open concept layout. New white leather couch and love chair, 2 flat screen TVs, LED lighting throughout, brand new high-efficiency inverter AC units in living room and both bedrooms, Panasonic iPhone 5 docking station/music player, granite counter tops, and a king size bed in each bedroom with new and super comfortable Sealy Posturepedic pillow-top mattress. The kitchen has a gas stove, a new Panasonic inverter microwave, and new inverter Samsung fridge. Also included is a stackable washer/dryer in the apartment, as well as a reverse osmosis drinking water system in the kitchen for your convenience and health. Each bedroom has a computer workstation and free high-speed WiFi. A lovely pool, restaurant and expansive beach for walking are just steps away. We are just 20 minutes away from the Puerto Plata International Airport. Please note that we quote 'base pricing' for 2 people. (This caters to retiree couples who may or may not have family visiting) and we charge $22/person/night for the 3rd and 4th person.

About Jens Knof

I love meeting people from around the world with a passion for the ocean, beaches and photography. I traveled the world racing Windsurfers in the 80-90's, and also coached the Ontario and Canadian teams leading up to the '96 Olympics. In 1991 I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B.Sc. degree in Kinesiology, followed by a 4 yr. program to become a Doctor of Chiropractics and operated a private practice for 14 years in Niagara. I married my University sweetheart over 25 years ago and now have 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. They all went to the International School in Sosua after moving to the Dominican Republic in 2006 on a dare. 10 years later and my wife and I are now splitting our time between Canada and the DR, enjoying the best that both places have to offer. Canadian winters are too long for us now that our blood has got a little thinner while living in the tropics. I currently enjoy many sports including kiteboarding, surfing, mountainbiking and enduro riding.

Why Jens Knof chose Sosúa

After traveling around the world my wife and I decided that Cabarete in the Dominican Republic was the ideal place for us to own a property. The weather is perfect here, and we like the lush vegetation and beautiful beaches. Except for a few holiday weekends, the area is uncrowded, which compared to Thailand and some places in Europe we have traveled to recently, is a huge plus. The locals are friendly and wonderful and it is one of the most affordable places in the Caribbean.

What makes this condo unique

The Cabarete East Oceanfront Community is unique in that it is located just outside of the town center, which can get noisy at night. The location and setting are stunningly beautiful, with miles of beaches to explore. From collecting amber, to whale watching in February or lying poolside with a cold drink, this is a great place to relax and recharge your batteries. For more adrenaline-packed activities, you can kiteboard, surf and mountainbike nearby trails right from your home. We have a concierge service to assist you in finding the activity you like.

The condo is beautiful. There is a small Resturant right next to the pool that could get you through your vacation. The staff there is lovely. The entire property is filled with great staff. The owners of the condo kept on top of everything thing for us. We hope to return again.

Fantastic Holiday

This is our 5th year coming to the DR, but our 1st time staying at Cabarete East. This condo was amazing. I love the quiet location just outside of Cabarete - yet still close enough to go to town - by beach, by cab.... Being on the top floor gave us the most spectacular view of the ocean and the pool. The ocean lulls you to sleep at night. The pool is clean and very inviting, and grounds are very well maintained. The restaurant has great food at very reasonable prices. The staff are very helpful. The condo itself has every amenity you could ever want/need. The furnishings are top class, especially the beds - very comfortable. We ate most of our meals on the balcony. Such a treat. The beach is beautiful. We did a lot of walking and also loved watching the kids play baseball there in the late afternoons. The owners have been very helpful and generous to accommodate us at every turn. I would absolutely recommend this condo to anyone who wants to be pampered. Thank you so much for making 2018 a blessed holiday.

Fantastic place, will come again next year!

We had a wonderful stay in this quiet and clean apartment. The apartment is well furnished and has a well-equipped kitchen which made cooking fun. We prefered to make our own healthy meals from fresh ingredients over going out. The patio was a perfect place for morning coffee and for enjoying the fantastic ocean views. We enjoyed walking on the beach every day and doing yoga nearby under some palm trees. We made lots of friends as many expats live here and there is a positive vibe. We highly recommend staying here and will be back next year.

Located in an idyllic and quiet oceanfront location just a few minutes drive away from all the Cabarete Beach Restaurants. An onsite restaurant, called Martinis has tasty Dominican and American food as well as nightly drink specials. Relaxing activities include strolling the beach looking for Amber, or just relaxing in a lounge chair by the pool. Those looking for more adventure can kiteboard, windsurf, surf, snorkel or mountain bike nearby local trails right from the premises. A must do activity includes whale watching in February, caving in the National Park in Cabarete or going to the 27 waterfalls near Puerto Plata, and/or going on the Mushroom Rock canyon trip on the road to Moca. Also, you can take a surf lesson at Encuentro, the best place to learn to surf in the Caribbean and take kiteboarding lessons in any of the many shops throughout the area.
