Pondview Cottage was the absolute perfect set up for our Lexington trip. I have traveled to Lexington many times to compete at the Kentucky Horse park, and this was by far the best set up I can imagine. The house is warm and inviting, is well put together, can fit multiple people comfortably, and Phyllis was extremely inviting, accommodating and easy to coordinate with.
We felt "right at home" while being in Kentucky to compete at the National Horse show and it made the experience so much more enjoyable and eased the stress of it all. I can 100% say the next time I go to the Horse Park to compete at a horse show I will look to rent again if available!
Thank you for all of your attention to detail in your lovely home! We loved our stay at your place - it didn't take us long to drive back and forth to the horse park while my daughter showed over the weekend. And the drive was beautiful - no highways, just rolling hills and horse farms. It was great to have a kitchen that was so well stocked with cooking utensils, as we usually like to cook all of our meals at home while at the show. The beds were really comfortable, the house was plenty spacious, and it was nice and peaceful without feeling we were out in the middle of nowhere. The house was extremely clean, great amenities, well decorated, and I felt totally safe and at home. Thank you again and we will definitely be back, when we're in the area!
Pondview was the perfect choice for our family vacation! During our stay we visited the Kentucky Horse Park and also enjoyed a Lexington Legends Baseball game. The location was perfect and surrounded by beautiful horse farms. Our kids loved fishing in the on-site pond, and enjoyed catching lightning bugs in the backyard while the adults relaxed on the patio. The home was very clean and beautifully decorated. We cooked and/or grilled all of our meals and found the kitchen to be stocked with all of the supplies we needed. Our family loved our comfortable stay at Pondview and would certainly return!
We absolutely loved our stay at PondView. The location was excellent -- nestled among the beautiful horse farms, but yet only minutes from downtown. The drive to the Kentucky Horse Park was a snap.
The house itself felt like it had been professionally decorated. Overall, it had that "vacation house" vibe inside with all kinds of great little touches. It was extremely clean compared to other rentals. It handled four adults and two children easily, and it had plenty of supplies for cooking. We really enjoyed the game table and the back porch. We grilled out twice and sat outside every morning.
David and Phyllis were easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.
We were more than comfortable and enjoyed all the amenities Phyllis and David provided. We are grateful for their generosity.
My family had a fabulous time staying in this home! This was a first trip to Kentucky for my born-and-raised -in -Los Angeles grandchildren. In fact, their first visit to a rural area. Although the cottage is within easy driving distance of downtown Lexington, you feel like you are completely out in the country as you are amongst the gorgeous horse farms. The setting was idyllic.
The house itself is beautifully decorated and incredibly clean. I am that person who travels with Pledge Wipes because I'm allergic to dust. But even the wooden window frames were totally clean! We had everything we needed and Phyllis was a very lovely and responsive hostess. I asked some questions about hiking and horseback riding before I arrived and Phyllis wrote up the information, leaving it waiting for me in the house when we arrived.
This was a very special experience for me and my family… I hope to return here!
