This two-story home is 2,400 SF and features large windows on both levels, offering expansive views to enjoy while sitting or reading. The home was remodeled in 2011 with all new beds, furniture, appliances, 4 flat Screen TVs and satellite television. This home is tastefully furnished to create warmth and comfort. As good as the inside looks and feels, it is the back of the home that sets it apart from other properties. The river is literally just steps out the back door and the panoramic views span the Sapphire Mountains, Bitterroot Mountains and Bitterroot River.
It is centrally located to all the outdoor pursuits the Bitterroot Valley has to offer. Within minutes of the house: Fly fishing the Bitterroot River, multiple National Forest trailheads and a paved bike trail that covers over 30 miles. Within an hour you can be fishing on the West Fork of the Bitterroot River or skiing at Lost Trail Ski Area.
The trip into Victor is short, either on the biking/walking trail, or via a drive of less than 5 minutes. It is a 10 minute drive to Hamilton which offers dining and shopping. Missoula, the home of the University of Montana is just 45 minutes away and is serviced by the Missoula International Airport.
When you return from the day's activities, fire up the BBQ grill or fire pit, sit out back on the patio, watch the sunset over the mountains - there's a good chance you'll spot bald eagles, fox, deer, turkey, and revel in a great vacation. We hope to hear from you soon!
I grew up in Montana and over the years I have worked and traveled around the world but Montana remains my favorite place and what I consider home. I am an avid fly fisherman and have always dreamed of owning a vacation home on a river, when I found this home all I had to see was the view of the Bitterroot River from the master bedroom and I was sold. I couldn’t think of better place to vacation where I could walk out the back door and fly fish on one of the best rivers in Western Montana. Thank you for looking and we hope to see you in our guest book soon!
We had a great four night stay at this amazing home. Have rented many places over the years and NONE have ever been this nice in every way. Immaculately clean, totally stocked kitchen with every type pot/pan, baking pans and accessories one could imagine! The furnishings and linens are top notch. Everything worked and lighting in rooms was very good. There were great views of the river and mountains out of each of the many windows. The labels on the switches to tell you what turned on what were appreciated - just every detail was nicely covered. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Owner was communicative when there was a question and with arranging the rental. This was very much like truly staying in someone's HOME, rather than renting a rental... there is a difference to be sure. The listed photos are all accurate but do not do the home adequate justice!
We were there in a month when snow-melt contributes to high, muddy water and not conducive to fishing, but the river access to great fly water is obvious and we plan to be back to test this out! :)
This was just as advertised and more. Perfect solitude and easy access to the river for exploring or fishing. Owner was immediately responsive to all questions and the unit was spotless. We are planning a return next year...
Location was peaceful, home well appointed, immaculate and well cared for. We were 3 couples and a single and fit very comfortably. We sat on lawn overlooking river and Saffires every morning and evening. Beautiful.
Turns out 13 days isn't long enough to enjoy this beautiful and comfortable home for our summer retreat! The home layout provides lots of spots for relaxing & privacy while larger groups were easily accommodated. Angler's Hideout is the perfect place for a vacation providing all the amenities you might need. The location is great for sightseeing and checking out fishing all along the way. Our weeks were spent fishing, enjoying the local Farmer's Market, cooking out, and dining on the patios. We had two sets of visitors during our stay and everyone had a great time. Our 3 year granddaughter, along with us, loved the wildlife show. We watched a wild turkey family trek the property each morning and evening and were treated as the young turkeys learned to fly and nest in the trees. Spotted a buck grazing between the houses; a fox walking along the driveway as we worried about the family of quail hiding in the grassy fields. We can only imagine the beauty of the fall and look forward to getting that trip in. Thank you for opening your home. We loved it.
Our stay at Angler's Hideout was perfect. We have stayed at several VRBO's and this particular property is very well kept and well stocked. Pictures do not do it justice. We sat on the back lawn and enjoyed the beautiful river in back. In the evening we sat on the covered porch sipping wine and enjoying the mountain views. In a perfect world, a hot tub would have made it even better. Would certainly stay there again. Owner is very attentive and responsive to communication.
This home is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. The Bitterroot river in the back yard was a favorite hangout for the family to fish and just enjoy. The house has beautiful views from the front and back yards. We enjoyed eating outside and sitting on the large front porch. I would highly recommend this house and will rent it again next time I'm in the area.
Perfect house in every way! Four sisters rented this house to bring our parents to a family reunion in Hamilton. The week was wonderful and we cannot give enough praise to the owner of this vacation home. The kitchen is equipped with every pot, pan, bowl, appliance, dish, glass, mug, pitcher and even a cake plate necessary to host a reunion cookout. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms stocked with plenty of towels. All of us flew a long way to attend this reunion and we were very pleased to find the paper products, soaps and detergents were plenty. And did I mention the proximity of the Bitterroot River? The river view from the kitchen and the upstairs master bedroom are stunning. We simply walked the short trail down to the river to fish. On the west side, the view of the Bitterroots was much enjoyed from the front porch. Just a short drive away we found numerous hiking trails and the Bitterroot Bike Path from Lolo to Hamilton crosses the driveway.
I highly recommend this house to anyone who is looking to visit the Bitterroot Valley. I look forward to a return trip with my husband, children and grandchildren. Wonderful house!
