Description

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday villa in Bastimento

The red frog villas are spacious, modern, and located above the best beaches in bocas. Completed in February of 2012, it is one of the newer villas on the island. This villa is the tortuga model, with an open floorplan, 3 bedrooms , 2 baths. The master bedroom has a queen bed and private bath, while the other 2 bedrooms have queen beds and share a large bathroom. Easily sleeps 6, but you could sleep 7 with one guest sleeping on sectional sofa.

As you enter the villa you are greeted by breathtaking views of the Caribbean through the great room glass walls. This villa is comfortably furnished. The kitchen is fully equipped and handsomely appointed with cherry wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. There is also a full-time concierge staff to take care of you and your family/friends during your vacation. Cool travertine tile flooring is throughout including the wrap around, under roof 1000 sq ft patio. A private pool in the shape of a turtle ! Plenty of outside furniture for eating and relaxing.

The resort staff can stock your villa with groceries before your arrival, or you can shop in bocas (10 minute boat ride). There are also two restaurants on the island and island bar with nightlife. You can request a private chef as well.

The villa is an easy five minute golf cart ride or ten minute walk to the excusive turtle beach or to the popular punta lava beach bar.

The incredible Bastimentos Sky Zipline Canopy tour is located within the resort and Kayukos Island Lounge and Restaurant features a mellow nightlife vibe and inexpensive meals. The lounge area is a great place to originate boat tours to Zapatilla Keys, Crawl Key, Dolphin Bay and other far-flung adventure spots. The Red Frog Express Shuttle provides quick water transport to Bocas Town (10 minutes) four times daily. Transport within the resort is available from Resort Management with sufficient notice for a fee. Since the villa is located at the Red Frog Beach Resort, water sport activities (kayaking, surfing, paddle boarding, snorkeling) or nature based activities (hiking, beachcombing) are readily available on location.

This Villa and Resort includes:

• 3 bedrooms, 2 baths

Why Susan chose Bocas del Toro

Having traveled to Costa Rica, Equador, The Gallapagos Islands, and then to Bastimentos, we knew we wanted to have a special place where our family could go and see unique species of animals and birds. When we visited Red Frog Beach we knew this was the place, a secluded island with various activities and beautiful beaches.

What makes this villa unique

The most unique item of this villa is its one of the few villa's that has 3 triple pane sliding doors, giving spectacular views of the Caribbean whether you are in the kitchen, dining room, great room or the master bedroom. This villa has an open floor plan. Also, it is the only villa on the island with a pool the shape of a sea turtle.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Hi Jerry/Susan.

We are here in the villa, the place is really amazing.

You have a beautiful home. The whole family is delighted.

My parents are returning on the 14th to Argentina.

After that with my wife and childrens we will continue on vacation until February 20.

This place is huge for us. but we are really in love with the villa.

For that reason I wanted to see if it is available until 20 February and then if you could give us a special price considering that we are only a couple.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Diego

Paradise Found

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 5 days in paradise. The Villa is better than shown with incredible views of the Caribbean from their wrap-around deck. Multiple nearly private pristine beaches are minutes away by golf cart. We took a yoga class, went snorkeling and took in the worlds best star gazing. Management responded quickly and yet were not underfoot. You won't want to leave!

A Slice of Heaven

This home is absolutely stunning!! It has everything that you need for a perfect vacation. It was even more beautiful than the photos!! It was so clean and perfectly appointed for a luxurious stay! The porch is perfect for morning coffee or having a meal at the gathering table while overlooking the stunning vistas!! There was so much to do while we were there. We did yoga on the beach. There were surf lessons, zip lining knd kayak rentals. We found cool trails to hike and saw amazing wildlife such at iguanas and exotic birds (they were in the trees out front) and sloths and red frogs. We even saw a pelican on our trip into the resort. The pool was delicious and the beaches were perfect and private. It was a wonderful spot for a romantic getaway!! The stars were so close and visible at night I felt like we could reach up and touch them. The restaurants in the island had delicious fresh food choices and yummy drinks! We also felt the service from red frog resort staff was amazing! We never had to wait for anything and they were curtious and professional. I can not wait to go back again!! Susan and Jerry thank you for such a wonderful place !! I wish there were 100 stars to give this place as it was our best vacation ever!!

Owner's Response: Susan and I are looking forward to having you come back!! The gathering table on our porch was actually hand made by a local carpenter. It's one of our favorite places to hang out.

The home was great. Great view from outside deck. The whole process, i.e., registration, transportation, etc. went very smoothly. The resort personnel were very friendly and accommodating. A great trip, experience.

beautiful porch with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

If you are comparing the many Red Frog villas listed on this site, I recommend choosing this villa for its location. All of the villas seem to have the same layout but they vary in terms of setting on the property. This villa has its front door off the road, which means the very large porch is on the back overlooking the hillside and the sea with no other villas or roads obstructing the privacy or the view. The porch has very comfortable furniture, always gets a good breeze, and is sheltered from the rain. We had a couple mornings with very heavy rain storms and spent them reading here.

There are some negative comments about the Red Frog Resort generally that have to do with restaurants, golf carts, and water shuttles. While the villas are high end, you should not expect a Four Seasons - like resort. We liked that. Everything is non-pretentious and inexpensive. The area in general is primarily visited by backpackers/surfers who stay in hostels. Breakfast is a free buffet with breads / granola / yogurt / and eggs made to order. We usually had lunch at a beachside taco place at the Palmar tent camp down the beach. For dinner, there a few good restaurants in Bocas and Bastimentos. We particularly liked the Ulitmate Refuge in Bocas and The Firefly in Bastimentos. Don't worry about the limited water shuttles scheduled from the resort. They will call you a water taxi whenever you want to go. We also recommend driving your golf cart as far down the beach past Turtle Beach as the dirt road goes and then hiking for about 15-20 minutes. You will find some wonderful and secluded coves where you can swim with no waves and no one else around. Just don't forget the bug spray and the sun screen.

Most excellent!

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home with a spectacular view of one of the prettiest beaches ever. The moment we stepped through the front door we felt at home and knew we had made a perfect choice for our holiday week.

We spent a lot of time dining and lounging on the amazing porch. The pool was the perfect place to hang after a day at the beach. The pool deck furniture was ample and very comfortable. And the landscaping around the home and pool is lush and beautiful. We even had a visit by some monkeys in the trees just below the porch.

We loved exploring the resort in our "jungle cart"....it was the perfect mode of transportation.

I hope to return for another stay at this amazing home...if you go you won't be disappointed and I will be jealous!

Perfect for Young Families (And Everyone Else, Too)!

  • 5 of 5

My wife, sister-in-law, three kids and I just got back from a nine-day trip to Panama that included three nights at this great villa in Red Frog Beach. The house was very clean and comfortable. The kids (a six-year old, a three-year-old and a one-year-old) had a blast in the pool, which was the perfect size for kids to play in and adults to relax in. The adults thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the massive back patio.

The folks at the Red Frog front desk were very nice and accommodating. My wife, sister-in-law and daughter did the zip line tour and loved it. The beaches on the island were great, too. Renting a golf cart is a must because things on the island are relatively spread out.

The food at the two Red Frog restaurants was hit or miss. While Red Frog does offer a chef service where someone comes to your house and cooks dinner, the price is pretty steep and not worth it in my opinion. We had planned on cooking for ourselves a little bit, but getting groceries while on the island was is a logistical nightmare, so stock up on food before you come if you plan to cook.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from things for a while.
