Idyllic family holiday

  • 5 of 5

It rarely that a property discovered on the internet exceeds expectations but Villa Cheneraie did. The layout and standard of the villa was outstanding and we loved it from the moment that Eva, the housekeeper, showed us around on arrival. The villa was rented for a get together for 3 generations of our family which has not been possible before due to members living in different locations around the world and no-one was disappointed. From the early morning games of tennis, lazing by the pool, cocktails on the patio to dinner around the large dining table overlooking the pool and garden everything was first class. A small criticism is that only 1 bedroom had air conditioning but even in the high temperatures of August the fans provided for the other rooms were sufficient to achieve a good night's sleep. The villa is just a couple of minutes drive to the town of Vence where some good bakers and other food shops are located. We also ate out occasionally in the very good restaurants in the squares of the historic part of Vence. St Paul de Vence is worth a visit and it is a relatively short drive to the coast where the towns of Cannes, Antibes, Nice and Monaco are in easy reach. We are looking forward to one day returning to this lovely villa.

imagine : it's expensive to have a good taste

Wow, what a place. I never thought that such kind of first class villa could be rented. The agency didn't overpromise, the villa delivered. The description was accurate in terms of the location, facilities and layout.

Situated in a very picturesque setting, the villa is located very close to the Matisse Chapel, the Fondation Maeght, the villa of Chagall and in 15 minutes one will reach the beach or the airport in Nice.

The villa must have had a recent refurbishment, the property was not only very clean but also in very fresh conditions. The property is presented with a wealth of old beams, stone floors, waxed walls and excellent woodwork throughout.

The entire contents are in outstanding conditions: piano,TV, internet, Bose equipment, nespresso machine, glass, cutlery, bed linen, curtains, ornaments -absolutely everything.

The large recently landscaped garden gives plenty of options to relax, the large mosaic tiled swimming pool is pretty unique with regard to the size and tiles.

We liked to play on the charming tennis court or to play a bit of basket ball on the driveway. I am not sure the neighborhood did.

The service was in line with our exspectations, and we can recommend the place to people who like substancial provencal-style houses that has even a self-contained maid's bed and sitting room with shower and WC.

It's the right place for small or large families that love the Provence,

like to relax in wide gardens, using the exceptional summer dining room or cosy bedrooms.

Now we can imagine why so many worldclass artists moved to this area.

Beautiful, relaxing, idyllic

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Perfectly situated, easy to reach from the airport and very quiet and homely. The house is absolutely gorgeous, we were delighted from the minute we set foot here. It was thrilling discovering the rooms, exploring the gardens and the tennis courts and soaking in the idyllic atmosphere. The pool is beautiful, the garden is soothing and the mountainous backdrop is balsam for the soul. We enjoyed preparing our meals in the quaint little kitchen and eating outside and using the BBQ. We can truly recommend this villa. It's absolutely gorgeous. 5 stars!
