If your key criteria for the best cottage vacation ever are privacy, great waterfront and a beautiful cottage, you can tick them off right now. Kosh Retreat has them all, and plenty more.
Let’s start with the 200ft of waterfront that offers clear water, a sandy beach with shallow entry, and a dock to jump off. If that doesn’t get you booking straight away, lets add in the Crown land to one side and no visible cottage to the other; a neat Bunkie the kids will just love, and a beautiful Kawartha location.
Kosh Retreat is on Kasshabog Lake – 20 minutes from the delightful village of Apsley in the north Kawartha region. The owner has been cottaging on this lake since the 1950s when his father built the original cottage. In 2007, he replaced the old cabin with a spacious light-filled home with all the comforts you’d expect to find in an upgraded cottage.
You will love the main floor with its cathedral ceilings, comfortable leather furniture in the living area and kitchen that boasts a state-of-the-art induction stove and breakfast bar. The large master bedroom with doors onto the deck, and ensuite are on this floor.
Upstairs there is a loft area with a pullout couch and TV , two bedrooms and a bathroom.
And don’t forget that Bunkie! With bunk beds and a pullout couch it’s a great spot for the teenagers to hang out.
Outside there’s plenty of patio furniture and of course a BBQ and firepit. Who wouldn’t want to watch the sun go down as you sit on the dock with a cold glass of wine, and contemplate on what a great choice you made!
