Disappointing Stay
We recently stayed at this condo from 03/05-03/10. We traveled to enjoy a week of college tennis matches to watch our son. We picked up our keys and headed to the condo.When we opened the condo door we immediately noticed an overwhelming smell of stale smoke, it was obvious that previous occupants had smoked in the condo. This condo clearly states that this is a non smoking unit. Both patios confirmed smoking evidence per ash trays and cigarette butts on the patio. In addition, the kitchen floor was very sticky and needed a cleaning. Also, we noticed the utensils and dishes were also dirty with stains. When reviewing the bathrooms we also noticed that both shower curtain liners were moldy. I contacted John the property manager of the above issues with the condo. John said he would contact the cleaning company but was not sure when they would get to condo. John also stated he would grab some new shower curtain liners and drop them off. Not sure of timing, we mopped the kitchen floor and placed all the dishes and utensils in the dishwasher. We also washed all the bed sheets to try and eliminate the smoke smell from the bedding. In addition, we purchased some candles to help with smell whenever we were in the condo.
On Monday afternoon, the cleaning company arrived. They brought clean sheets, cleaned the condo and replaced the shower curtain liners. We appreciated the quick response from John, but unfortunately, eliminating the smoke order in condo was impossible.
On a positive note, the furnishings in the condo are nice as the pictures indicate.
We have been using VRBO for many years for vacations in Outer Banks, Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach, Fripp Island, etc. without issues. When purchasing a vacation, it is unfortunate and disappointing to have a negative experience.
