About Jeff Clary

I moved to New Orleans in 1993 to attend Tulane University. And the City that Care Forgot wasted no time sucking me in. As a young man, my Uptown neighborhood met my every want and need - a half block from Mardi Gras, a quick stumble to some of the best live music in the city at Tipitina's and Le Bon Temps, fine eats at Dick and Jenny's, and plenty of libations within striking distance. Now I am older, with three children, and though my needs have changed the neighborhood still provides - ice cream at the Creole Creamery, snowballs at Hansen's Sno-Bliz, two playgrounds, a children's library, and pizza.

And of course Mardi Gras.

I have moved three times in the last 15 years. Never more than 6 blocks.

What makes this house unique

Our lovely house is located Uptown and is a laid-back residential area known for its oak trees and landmark restaurants like the late-night Camellia Grill and the iconic Jacque-Imo’s, serving Creole cuisine. Venerable live music venues include the Maple Leaf Bar, for brass bands, bayou tunes and dancing. Quirky bookstores and indie clothing boutiques line Oak Street, while Palmer Park has a popular monthly art market. Boutiques and antique shops sit alongside fine-dining restaurants, casual cafes and local bars on and around Magazine Street.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Arriving at Jeffrey's place was a refuge from a day's drive in the rain. The home has everything you need whether you plan to stay put or explore. It's within walking distance to dining and groceries. Would definitely stay here again. It was perfect for our group. Comfortable common places and space for privacy. Loved having two complete bathrooms!

Charming, quiet house, close out great dining and shopping.

  • 5 of 5

The house was both historic and nicely renovated, with great ambience and powerful A/C (vital when visiting NOLA in the heat of August). Its location is in walking distance of the legendary Tipitina's music venue, as well as great restaurants, bars and shops on Magazine street. Great experience, and we would definitely stay again.

Great apartment, great location

  • 5 of 5

Apartment was clean and comfortable. Jeff was an attentive and helpful host. And I loved being within walking distance of Audubon Park, Tulane, the St. Charles streetcar, and the shops on Magazine Street. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans and looking for a place to stay uptown.

Great Stay.

  • 5 of 5

The house was great for a multi-generational gathering. Location was good for a mix of attending a convention in town and sightseeing. Appreciated proximity to Magazine Street which had restaurants appealing to children. Could get by without a car, but a lot easier to have one. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here two years ago to celebrate my 27th birthday. My friends and I had more than enough room. The home was very well kept and comfortable. The home is in a great location! We had little to no trouble getting around. I would definitely rent again!

Great location!

  • 4 of 5

The property worked out great for our family. My sister and her family stayed in the property just two doors down and that was such a plus! Having stayed at other VRBO properties, I can only gripe about the fact that there weren't enough face towels and extra blankets for everyone. (There were six of us) Jeff was very accommodating and pleasant. Would definitely stay at this property again when in New Orleans!!

Boys Bachlor Party Weekend

  • 4 of 5

Guys trip to New Orleans for bachlor party. Commication during booking was excellent. My only complaint is there was no sofa bed in the den so one guest ended up having to sleep on a regular couch. Anything needed during the stay was brought in a timely manner. All in all it was a nice stay. It's about a $15 uber ride to the French Quarter, not bad at all.
