Edinburgh City Centre is on your doorstep. As an international capital you will find all of Edinburgh's famous attractions in easy reach. The city comes alive in the summer months with world-renowned festivals, including the International Festival, Fringe, Jazz, Film and Book Festivals.

With the benefit of a private parking space, you can rent a car and explore further afield. There are beaches close by at Portobello. St Andrews and Gleneagles are under an hour's drive.

Sports facilities in and around Edinburgh: For golf enthusiasts you will find Edinburgh and its environs a perfect base for playing the game, whether you are a beginner or prefer a more challenging course. As well as a good choice of municipal courses in Edinburgh there are many famous courses in easy reach such as Musselburgh Links, Gullane and North Berwick (in East Lothian) and Gleneagles within an hour's drive. For those who prefer to watch sport, Murrayfield Stadium hosts many rugby internationals, 6 nations rugby tournament, american football, premier club rugby and music concerts. For football fans, Hibernian & Tynecastle stadiums are nearby and Hampden Park, Ibrox and Celtic Park in Glasgow are under an hour away. There is a public swimming pool with 5 minutes walk which has great family facilities including flumes. The beaches at Portobello offer a good chance to engage in watersports or rollerblading. For younger children there is an indoor softplay 5 minutes walk away and there is a cutting edge Virgin Active gym.

Edinburgh's summer festivals: The vibrant, historic city of Edinburgh is a wonderful place to be during Festival season. Here is a taste of what is available: Film Festival 18-29 June for red carpet glamour. Fringe 1-25 Aug- the biggest arts festival in the world: theatre, comedy, music, dance, exhibitions- venues incl The Stand Comedy Club are near the apartment. Edinburgh International Festival. 8-31 Aug. The Playhouse theatre is a 5 minute bus ride away. Edinburgh International Jazz and Blues Festival. 18-27 July. Various venues incl some at Leith Shore. Edinburgh International Book Festival 9-25 Aug. Charlotte Square Gardens are 10 min bus ride away. Military Tattoo 1-23 Aug set against the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.

St Andrews: St Andrews is an easy drive from Edinburgh (around 1.25 hours), and there is also a regular train service from Edinburgh Waverley to Leuchars, which is the local station for St Andrews. It is a beautiful city with an ancient University and is often called the home of golf. We stayed for 7 days with two friends at this property to visit the Edinburgh Festival.

We cannot over emphasize how well this location and property facilities suited our plans. We arrived from the US much earlier than is listed in the profile but the owners gave us a great recommendation for a place to get a cup of coffee and breakfast and they went out of their way to meet at the the door shortly afterwards.

The description is accurate. The apartment was clean and well maintained. The owners spent time with us explaining the various features of the apartment and also gave us great recommendations for nearby restaurants of which there are many within easy walking distance.

Central Edinburgh is about a 10 minute bus ride and if you have a car as we did, the parking space is right out front of the unit. A visit to the HMY Britannia is well worth the 10 minute walk and it is adjacent to a large mall.

The owners had thoughtfully stocked the kitchen with fresh fruit, milk, eggs, bread and a basket of other "goodies" you would associate with Scotland!

No place is perfect so the only negative comments would be that the wall between the two bedrooms is a bit thin so a loud snorer could be a problem, and the mattresses should probably be replaced. But we would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a great value for money location in the Edinburgh/Leith area.

Clean and modern great location

Great welcome pack with wine, fresh oranges and juicer , mini whiskey, biscuits and much more. Excellent location superb eating near by and so handy for bus into Edinburgh only £4 for all day on bus. Would benefit from another settee to allow relaxation for four but lovely place and would return.

We had a wonderful time at this apartment

We came from Germany to the U.K. for 3 weeks and had the first week at this place in edinburgh. Everything was as described, very clean, well maintained (including the whole house) - and the hosts were acting very heartily but with professionell correctness. Thank you for the almost filled picnic basket.

We recommend this property very strong. The area "Leith Docks" is an uprising part of the city, and we've been in favour of the good restaurants in the street "The Shore". Ocean Drive Centre with the Royal Yacht is in a 10 minutes walking distance. Local transportation is easy - even by car.

Finally, the apartment being not fare away from the A 90 westbound, it was a fine base for us for daytrips to Glasgow, Falkirk and St. Andrews.

Fabulous Flat!

I stayed at this property for quite a while and found it an extremely enjoyable and convenient place to stay. It is very close to anything you may need: corner shop, pharmacy, grocer's, post office and a decent supermarket nearby too. There are also some great restaurants around the corner, most selling delicious seafood, sourced locally. The whole area has a rather relaxed and romantic atmosphere. The bus stop is also just around the corner where you can catch a bus pretty much every couple of minutes up town which is only a mile or so away, you coud even walk if you felt like it. The property itself is very comfortable too as it has everything you need and is quite new so has a nice fresh feel to it, whilst being cosy in the evenings. The owners have kept it very nice and everything is very clean. They are also lovely people who are willing to help with any questions you may have and will give you any local info that you might require. Really loved staying here!

Very nice convenient flat.

I lived here for 9 months and had no problems at all. The landlady is easy to deal with and very helpful. The flat is very nice bright and modern with everything you would need. It is located very well in Edinburgh, a short bus ride form the centre and near Leith's beautiful attractions. The surrounding area is pleasant and I never had any trouble walking anywhere.

Great stay over the festival period

Stayed during the festival with a friend, really enjoyed the flat, it really has everything you need, very modern and light. The area is lovely, nice and quiet just outside but also has some wonderful restaurants just around the corner. Great to have own parking space just in front of the house as well. It is also just a short bus ride to city centre and the busses run every couple of minutes. I would recommend it to everybody, in fact, I plan to come back this year!
