Don’t bring friends
The house looks nice; but I should have known it was not a welcoming place when they met me there and said do not open the blinds, as the sun will bleach the furniture! This is on the beach!
Sisal on floor and was told if there is a spot, you would loose deposit! And, when I said I was having family for my mom’s 99 birthday, they said no and they would send the police to remove all😖find a more welcoming beach house!
Our apologies for any inconvenience. We do ask that guests adhere to the maximum number of guests and cars allowed at the property at all times. This is out of respect for all involved. We aim to serve guests, owners, and neighbors alike.
Nicely decorated and well maintained. Gorgeous views! I will definitely rent it again. Highly recommend.
Great patio for a beachfront property
Beachside Bungalow's best feature is its patio. There were tons of seating opportunities, fire pit, two tables, umbrellas, etc. The beach was steps away and most of the time uncrowded despite being in the middle of the summer. The garage was well-stocked with toys.
The drawbacks were that the kitchen was tiny and the bathroom/bedroom layout wasn't ideal. One bathroom was accessed through the kitchen but it served the bedroom that was two rooms away. The shower in that bathroom was a tiny stall shower, impossible to shave your legs in.
Also, when we booked the property it listed a loft sleeping area but when when we came PR told us the owners said they didn't want anyone sleeping in the loft. That posed a problem for us. I thought it wasn't an honest move. The guest book has a list of rules that were worded in a somewhat threatening way. Many of the items said that if you violated a rule you would lose your full deposit. I guess that harsh wording is appropriate for those who don't take pride in ownership of their own homes but we do and I was on edge the entire time hoping not to break a rule.
A safety issue was the height of the fan in the second bedroom. My husband is 6'3" and almost hit his head on it. Also, the cord to adjust the speed is super short so one has to completely shut down the fan to adjust the speed. We all hit our heads on the staircase leading up to the loft in the master bedroom. It is white just like the walls and easy to hit.
Overall, we thought this was a great property for a small family that didn't mind the bathroom situation and the tiny kitchen.
This property is perfect! Spotless and comfortable.
This house is very well stocked and decorated. We had a magical week and we appreciated having all the beach accouterments we needed. The view from the house and the gorgeously weathered deck is incredible. Beds are cozy and plenty of blankets and throws for snuggling. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.
The property itself exceeded expectations
The property itself is beautiful. While I knew we were close to the ocean, the proximity to the beach was amazing.
For those interested in layout since it is difficult to tell from pictures, the property has one "master" bedroom in the back of the house with windows that can be opened to the back patio. Additionally, because of the absence of flying critters and animals, we felt comfortable leaving the patio door and windows open while we were there to let in all the fresh air.
The outdoor area is stocked and ready to go and, so long as you take good care of it, you won't have any problems.
Down the steps in the front of the house you can find the true "master", although we used that room for our guests. It has a bathroom and two full-size beds.
There are two full bathrooms in the property.
The kitchen itself is stocked with any and all kitchen utensils you might need.
We did have two problems, though. The first was one of the floor fans provided shot out sparks, creating a fire hazard. The property owner replaced the fan very quickly.
The second one had to do with ants only in the front bathroom. Might be the moisture, but that is something you can treat pretty easily. There were no ants in the kitchen or in any other room. Just the smaller bathroom.
As an added perk, they provided everything we needed to take care of the tar issue on on the beach. Not penalizing the property owner for the tar. It isn't their fault :-)
Our favorite activity at the house was the use of the outdoor fire pit at night. While we had to remain quiet (proximity to neighbors), it was incredibly easy to use.
Don't go to this property if you want to make a fair amount of noise at night. It's not that kind of neighborhood.
Also, there is a train right across the street. While there's another house in the way, the train still does shake the house a bit at night. Didn't pose a major problem. I only woke up on one night at 3AM, but that's because I'm an incredibly light sleeper.
