About Corinne Pera

I am a dutch/italian through marriage and we settled here since almost 20 years now.

Corinne Pera purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Corinne Pera chose Fayence

This house is special because it has a lovely garden and is in the country and it is quiet. Yet not too far away from the cities.

The Bergerie is an extremely old cottage with lots of charme. The old locals still remember the sheppard living here and told us stories from when they were kids and were not allowed by their parents 'to go as far away on adventure', because one could never tell.... Right in the livingroom there is still a ring on the wall, to hold the donkey!

Guestbook comments from the manager

A lovely peaceful and comfortable place to stay

  • 4 of 5

Corinne is an excellent, experienced and considerate hostess. The accommodation is close to her house and in a beautiful garden with pool that we used regularly. Fayence is a beautiful unspoilt hill town, far enough away from the coast to be much less overwhelmed by visitors but near enough to the A8 to make for easy journeys/ to Nice, Antibes, Cannes etc. We enjoyed the contrast between the quiet, wooded hinterland and the exciting but busy resorts. Highly recommended.

Lovely old cottage in a beautiful garden

  • 5 of 5

The place was lovely and very peaceful. Stayed her a week with my wife and 1 year old daughter. Everything was just like in the pictures. Loved eating out in the garden and waking up early to look at the beautiful sunrises. The place was easy to find, very convenient parking and had also nice bakeries and shops a short drive away. Corrine was a very hospitable and nice host. We highly recommend!

Lovely property in a stunning area of Provence

  • 5 of 5

What a relaxing holiday!. Perfect setting and so peaceful. Corrine made us feel most welcome, didn't intrude at all, but was there if needed. A welcome bottle of Rose was awaiting on our arrival which went down well! The pool was a godsend and nice and cool when it got hot.

There are plenty of supermarkets around the general area, along with plenty of nice restaurants, all reasonably priced.

Fayence is ideally placed for exploring the local hilltop villages and the Cote d'Azur, both inland and also the coast. The Gorges du Verdon is a must see, along with Monaco, Cannes and Nice (where you can shop till you drop!). Most towns on the coast are accessible by train from Grasse, which is about 30mins drive away, and the station has a huge and free car park, which makes it easier than hunting for a parking space in the coastal towns.

All in all a perfect holiday, and would thoroughly recommend 'Bergerie'

Perfect for outdoor living with gorgeous pool

  • 4 of 5

We spent at fabulous week at La Bergerie. It is in the same grounds but very separate and hidden from, the owner's house so plenty of privacy. The garden area is ideal for sunbathing and dining outside. The pool was a real bonus and a joy. It is beautifully kept and surrounded by lovely plants and is unseen from the owner's house so, again, very private. Even in the extremely hot weather, downstairs stayed cool and the ceiling fan in the bedroom was very effective. The owner, Corinne is a perfect hostess - unobtrusive but there when needed, as she was when we had a problem with our car. She was helpful, even offering to drive us to the garage + pick us up etc. etc. She also left a welcome bottle of rosé. Thank you so much Corinne. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the beautiful villages perchés, Mons, Seillans + Callian were especially nice. The bar/restaurant La Gloire de mon Père in Seillans has a particularly gorgeous setting, shaded by plane trees. We didn't eat there, only had drinks, but the food did look good. Spent a morning at Lac St Cassien at the back by the "Américaine" where we hired a canoe (pedaloes also available) which was very enjoyable. We would not hesitate to return to La Bergerie

Located in the heart of the Provence between the picturesque villages of Seillans and Fayence, La Bergerie is a relaxing place to spend your holidays. Surrounded by beautiful landscapes and olives trees the region offers you numerous and diversified sites to visit and to practice your favourite leisures.

Fayence in detail: Fayence is located on a 350 m high hill and is one of 8 medieval villages, called 'Les Pays de Fayence' The Bergerie is located about 2 km from the village.

In Fayence you will find everything you may need, shops, market (3x a week), post-office, tourist-office, restaurants in all categories, nice terraces to sit down for a cup of tea or a glass of wine!

A gastronomic restaurant is located within walking distance from the Bergerie.

The region is renowned for its excellent rose wine. Vineyards and chateaux can be visited, offering tastings and wine boutiques.

There are plenty of walking paths of various difficulty level, including some straight out of the gate of the Bergerie.

On 1 km distance there are tennis courts and nearby is a golf course. Further golf courses abound in the region, on the coast or in the 'backland' sumptuous courses and not far away!

Fayence is known for it's gliding activities.

In summer the nearby St. Cassien lake provides plenty of opportunities for water leisure.

The nearest beach (Théoule) is just 40 minutes away.

The Gorges du Verdon Canyon (drive the corniche road with exciting views on the canyon, hike around!) and Lake de Sainte-Croix make a nice day out!

Directly behind Fayence are the mountains and there are lovely villages to be visited.

Further highlights are Cannes, Antibes, Nice, St.Tropez, Monte-Carlo. Even the known big market in Ventimiglia is to be done in 1 day.

July/August offer cultural events, a Jazz Festival in Tourrettes (near to Fayence) and also a classical music Festival in Seillans.
