Charming one bedroom apartment, sleeps 3, near seafront, Algarve, Portugal

Recently renovated, the townhouse is located in the old picturesque pedestrian area of Olhão a few steps away from the fresh markets and the waterfront. The house with its vaulted ceilings and whitewashed walls was one of the first built in town by the local fishermen. It is a nice example of the unique vernacular architecture of Olhão, infused with Moorish influence and the simplicity of Portuguese style. The house has a sitting room with a sofa bed, a bedroom, a kitchen/dining room, a bathroom, as well as a small interior patio. The apartment is naturally cool in summer and has underfloor central heating for winter, making it comfortable all year round. The perfect hideaway for two, for short or longer periods.

Olhão is the most traditional fishing village of the Algarve with narrow, winding streets lined with white houses. Many artists have chosen to settle there because of its picturesque character and traditions. The town still lives on traditional fishing and has an extraordinary daily fish market and outstanding seafood restaurants. Beaches can be reached by ferry boats and water taxis which take you to the unspoiled islands of Armona, Culatra and Farol. There you can find long stretches of white sandy beaches safe for swimming and appreciate the peace and serenity of this unique nature reserve. Olhão is a perfect holiday village which combines the pleasure and fun of having restaurants, cafés, shopping and night-life at hand as well as easy access by boat to pristine and secluded beaches. The area also has a large choice of golf courses and Seville is just over 2 hours drive way and Lisbon 2 and a half hours.
