A beautiful villa enjoying all modern facilities and privacy. Fantastic location for exploring lots of lovely beaches and Portuguese culture. We received a very warm welcome and made friends with the baker who delivered fresh bread every day!! Would definitely recommend to family and friends and looking forward to our return visit.
The villa was good, the pool, the equipment of the house.
We enjoyed our holidays and we can give the best shout for the villa.
I spent 2 weeks in this house with my wife and my son and am overall satisfied with my stay. The house was clean and comfortable, very modern with good furniture, appliances...
The house is located 15 miles from the beautiful Medieval town of Obidos in a quiet neighborhood. It is within walking distance to the lagoon (15 minutes) and you can also walk to a couple restaurants in the fishing village (a 23 minute walk if you walk fast). There is a little guide book that was put together by the owner letting you know what to do and where to go when it comes Restaurants, Tourist sites, Supermarkets...This was convenient.
There is a little swimming pool: It's a pity the pool is not heated as the temperature in late august when we stayed would go down to the mid to upper sixties during the night and in the mornings. It is quite a foggy region of Portugal due to the presence of the lagoon which generates humidity. Typically when the temps are in the sixties by the lagoon there are in the eighties in Lisbon.
The pool when we stayed had a little bit of an issue as the water level would need to be topped every 2 to 3 days. You would know that the pool needed to be topped of because when the level was too low you had air hissing through the skimmers making it difficult to sleep at night because of the noise.
The other issue with the house was the lack of air conditioning. Therefore you have to leave the windows opened at night and since the air is quite humid, your clothes, bed sheet and comforters always feel a little bit damp.
The property management was very responsive when we contacted them and keep in mind that apart from these 2 small issues the house is really great. I therefore recommend it wholeheartedly.
We have rented many villa's over the years in Europe and this is one of the best, this villa is 'fabulous' it has everything you could possibly need. High quality furniture and accessories throughout.Clean, spacious and set in lovely surroundings of natural beauty a walker/bikers dream. The pool was a nice temperature even in October and the bikes a added bonus.
We explored the Lagoon and beach nearby. The Lagoon beach has the most amazing views.
We hired a car and a special mention needs to go to Obidos and it's castle and S'ao Martinho Do Porto a beautiful harbour and beach. All within easy reach of the villa.
We would highly recommend this villa to anyone it has everything you could need.
A special thanks to Paula the villa contact manager for her assistance in helping us with a couple of enquiries we had during our stay.
We came with our 3 children (2, 4 and 7) and had an absolutely wonderful stay.
The villa is wonderfully well equipped and we wanted for nothing. We did need to use the service manager on one occasion due to a leaky washing machine but she was friendly and efficient and it was fixed immediately.
The children are still talking about this holiday! If you go here, you must go to Edgar's - the service was wonderful and the staff were fab. We are looking at returning next year - and we never go to the same place twice!!
We had a very pleasant stay. the lagoon is very beautiful, the house is very comfortable and perfect for holidays and we enjoyed the swimming pool.
We had to phone Paula for several details, she is really friendly and helpful.
Perola da Lagoa is a new development, situated adjacent to a huge pine forest nestling on the edge of the Obidos Lagoon. The lagoon is the largest sea-water lagoon in Portugal . In this area you can enjoy beautiful quiet walks and cycle tracks, fishing, family-safe swimming in the lagoon, watersports including sailing and water skiing, beach side restaurants and horse riding.
There are also beaches around the lagoon, and within 5 minutes drive there are beaches on the Atlantic coast. The beautiful medieval walled town of Obidos is a few minutes drive away with its famous castle, cobbled streets and quaint restaurants and shops. The coastal towns of Peniche (which has a water park), Baleal d'Arelho and Sao Martinho are all within 30 minutes drive and offer great beaches, surf bars, and fish restaurants.
The world class golf and leisure resorts of Bom Sucesso, Praia Del Rey, and the recently opened Royal Obidos, are all also within 5 minutes drive. .
