Luxurious Spacious Apartment in superb central yet tranquil location

Just a few footsteps away from the idyllic Anse of Renecros beach, this property is ideally located off a quiet residential avenue, yet in walking distance of restaurants, shops and all the outdoor living that this traditional rustic town of Provence has to offer.

The apartment is situated that you can wander down the steps to the beach to have your early morning swim within 2 minutes from the Villa and return to have your breakfast on the terrace.... an outdoor shower is available to wash off the remnants of the sand ... can't you just see yourself there ?

The entrance porch opens onto a spacious hallway from which all 8 rooms are accessed. The property comprises of the first floor of a large independent 1920's Villa, with 10 ft ceilings, original shuttered windows, and south facing terrace with sea views. Villa la Ponote is a very unique property, decorated to a very high standard but with all modern conveniences, It has a separate fully equipped fitted kitchen, a large spacious living room which opens onto separate dining room ( seating 4 persons comfortably ) which in turn opens onto the terrace. There are 2 spacious bedrooms, one a master bedroom , with king size bed , this bedroom also opens onto the terrace . The second bedroom has 2 single beds with a great view over the garden. There is separate toilet and bathroom with glass shower cubicle. The apartment is really well equipped with very convenient storage facilities in all the rooms. The terrace can accommodate comfortably 4 people dining and has a French day bed for relaxing in the sun. The terrace enjoys morning sunshine and is south facing , there is an overhead canopy which can be unrolled for shade. Downstairs in the courtyard is an outdoor shower which is very convenient for a refreshing shower and rinsing the sand from the beach.

The apartment is generously stocked with travel books on the area , and a diverse range of reading material . It also has DVDs, cable TV, MP3 player docking system and a number of board games which can be enjoyed in between simply relaxing and soaking up the glorious sunshine that is guaranteed for much of the year in Provence-Alpes-Cote D'Azur.

There are 2 city bicycles with the property , which can challenge your fitness on the Bandol hills.

Bandol is a working Provençale town with a daily market in the square, providing fresh fruit, meats , fish, breads, flowers and a weekly market on the port, with a huge range of stalls from everything from furniture , clothes, pottery and food, every Tuesday.


Bandol Var /Provence: is just a few miles away from the spectacular coastline of the Cote D'Azur, Bandol has easy access to a number of exquisite beaches and water sports which can be enjoyed in-between simply relaxing and soaking up the glorious sunshine.Bandol will give you the chance to surround yourself with the style and panache of places like Nice, Cannes and St Tropez further along the Cote D'Azur and balance it with the atmosphere of rustic peace that is more commonly felt in the traditional rural towns and villages of the Var region of Provence - therefore giving you a truly comprehensive experience of the sheer cultural diversity that exists in this unique and fascinating corner of the south of France. For those interested in golf there is Golf de Fregate an 18 hole course designed by Ronald Fream, it is considered one of the finest courses in Europe with 15 breathtaking holes overlooking the Mediterranean Sea! The Fregate golf course opened in 1992 and is considered an artistic masterpiece, the course is famous for its terraced tees (five at each hole).

Open all year, the Golf Dolce Frégate Provence offers two approved courses, the

Frégate (18H, 6,209m, Par 72), the Frégalon (9H approved, 2,400m, Par 29) and has 50 driving range slots, 2 putting greens and 50 cars

The golf club is open throughout the year i.e. winter (October to March) from 8am to 6pm and summer (April to September) from 7am to 7pm. Tennis Club de Bandol & Sailing Club: Located on a spectacular piece of coastline, just 10 minutes walk from the property/ beach at Renecros. This club is open to the public and runs tennis camps for juniors from 5yrs up. It provides individual coaching lesson on request .It also enjoys an outdoor activity area of table tennis, boules and playground for the under 10's. It has 8 tennis courts and one 1 practise wall.



Also within walking distance of the property is SNB Bandol is a wonderful Sailing club which offers courses all summer long for children, teenagers, adults.

THE APARTMENT HAS 2 CITY BIKES AVAILABLE There is an outdoor shower in the courtyard where you have are refreshing shower and rinse off the sand from the beach. The terrace is private and very spacious with dining facilities and sunbathing with retractable awning for sun or shade. It overlooks the port and its boats to the South, the mountains to the East and the beach at Renecros to the West. The apartment is so close to the Bay of Renecros that you can wander down for your early morning swim and have breakfast on your terrace as you dry off. The apartment has a separate fully fitted kitchen , with built in oven, hob, fridge,freezer, dishwasher and coffee machine.. It is equipped to a very high standard. The dining room with its dramatic crescent shaped window and west facing porthole,opens onto the terrace which also has an additional table and seating for 4.

A Delightful Experience

My Husband and I have visited Bandol several times in the last 30 years, always staying in the Renecross Bay area. On each of our visits we have admired La Ponote from the outside. This year, on looking at the holiday rental site on the computer, imagine my delight when I discovered that the property was available to rent.

We had seen the photographs of the interior on the computer but these did not prepare us for the sheer joy of being in this beautiful apartment. It is such a delightful home, modern, yet very French, with such interesting books and games, one need never leave 'home'. The fresh food shops and markets are so close that it is almost criminal not to purchase the goodies on offer and cook them in the very well equipped kitchen.

Of course one cannot visit Bandol without visiting the beautiful beaches, surrounding Medaeval villages, markets and towns, so get up early to enjoy these things - but come back soon to La Ponote, relax in the very comfortable sitting room or outside on the lovely terrace, and enjoy a glass or two of the delicious Bandol wine.

Stylish apartment in stunning location!

The apartment was as beautiful as described on the website. A very comfortable 'home from home' just a couple of minutes walk from the beach with an enclosed bay which lends itself to the most serene sea swimming. The refurbishments have clearly been done by someone with great style and taste and the space has been utilized very effectively. The master bedroom has the lovely feature of doors opening onto the terrace capturing the morning sun. Being so closely located to the center of town, it was also remarkably quiet - the perfect place to escape the stresses of modern life. A very pleasant drive from Nice Airport and also very close to the delightful Aix en Provence, I hope to return in the near future. Many thanks Dorothy.

Perfect Location in Bandol

Perfect location between the beach and the port, lovely accommodation with super comfortable bed, and everything for a relaxing holiday! Easy access to train station, a short walk away so great to arrive by train or to visit other places along the coast.

I feel greatful to have found such a beautiful place in Bandol. We had an amazing vacation in France. The house is located in a great place; close to the beach and the port yet we could feel the privacy and enjoy the feel of the calm neighborhood. It is decorated with such taste and charm, it was a joy to just sit a the balcon and relax! Big thanks to Dorothy who was always available and gave us so many tips and suggestions. May you all enjoy a great time in such a lovely place!

Charming property

We had a wonderful 2 weeks at Villa la Ponote. The location of the property was fabulous. The proximity to the beach was great - we particularly enjoyed an early morning swim before breakfast when the beach was quieter. The accommodation was also a short walk from Bandol town. We loved the area surrounding Bandol, with it's vineyards, markets, and beautiful sea views. The property itself is tastefully decorated. Thank you for a great holiday. The Andersons

Très bon !

My wife and I stayed at Villa la Ponote for 2 weeks in June 2015, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience (we stayed in Cassis a few years ago, and regret having not visited Bandol sooner !).

The apartment was as described: well-equipped, and the main bed was comfortable. The retractable awning on the terrace was useful to protect us from the morning sun whilst taking breakfast. By suitably adjusting the windows/shutters, we found that the rooms could be adequately ventilated. There was little motorised traffic which used the adjacent road.

Villa la Ponote is well-placed for access to services on foot: less than 10 minutes to the Bandol railway station, and only a few minutes to the supermarkets (8 à Huit on Rue des Écoles, and Casino on Rue de la République). There are nearby bread shops and the nearest newsagent is on Allée Jean Moulin. A good daily food market can be found nearby to the church square (St. François de Sales). The bus stop, 'Embarcadère', is also close by, near to the Tourist Office on Allée Alfred Vivien.

There was a good choice of restaurants, and those that we enjoyed were: L'atelier du Gout (Rue Pons), La Brise (Boulevard Victor Hugo), Les Gourmands Disent (Rue de la Paroisse), Il Principe (Rue des Tonneliers; for pizzas), Hotel Delos (Île de Bendor; with a delightful view of the Bandol bay from the outdoor dining terrace; the 12 Euro ferry charge was waived to restaurant customers), and, La P'tite Cour in Sanary-sur-Mer (Rue Barthélemy de Don). The Bandol rosé wine was generally too dry for our palate, but the Bandol vin rouge was enjoyable, e.g., Domaine du Gros 'Noré.

We did not hire a car, but used public transport: by bus to La Seyne-sur-Mer (limited appeal but visiting the Napoleonic fort off Avenue Général Carmille) and Sanary-sur-Mer, and by rail to Cassis and Marseille. We cycled to the nearby Zoo & Jardin Exotique, Sanary/Bandol (good) and to Sanary-sur-Mer (picturesque). Regarding airport transfers: we were initially tempted to try the rail service between Marseille airport and Bandol, but finally decided on pre-booking a local taxi service, with the assistance of the renter's local agent, which worked really well (transfer just over an hour either way Marseille airport <> Bandol).

We would be happy to stay here again and likewise to recommend the apartment to friends.

Bandol is charming port between Marseilles and Toulon, at the western end of Cote d'Azur. It is still quite unknown by tourists and is more popular with French people. It hosts a daily market in the square and a weekly one on the port, it has a great range of restaurants and shops along the seafront and by the marina. Bandol has lots of water sports, golf,walkways, tennis club, boules, outdoor activities. The many sandy beaches, cliffs, inlets and creeks are all part of this natural environment and are surrounded by hills of pines and willows. The Ile de Bendor is a 10 min boat ride away and has diving / secluded beaches, restaurants.! There are medieval hill-top villages (Le Castellet, Le Beausset ) and good hill walking 20 min into the hills.The port contains boats of all sizes: yachts, great sailing vessels ,fishing boats. Its clears waters and interesting underwater sea life makes this an ideal spot for scuba divers. The vineyards of Bandol are famous for its luscious wines.

Other Activities: Bicycles can be hired locally, and due to the natural beauty, there are many coastal walks for the stroller and serious hiker
