About Stay Alfred

Stay Alfred was founded based on the idea of offering innovative, reliable, and consistent short-term vacation rentals at a price that's affordable, while making booking, checking-in, and checking-out quick, easy, and stress-free. Booking the perfect stay shouldn't feel like taking a shot in the dark. At Stay Alfred, we know that guests prefer accommodations that are straight-forward and stress-free.

Why Stay Alfred chose Downtown CBD

A historic renovation of the 19th Century Factors Row and Thiberge buildings in the 400 block of Carondelet Street and the 800 block of Perdido Street will revitalize a row of buildings that has been vacant since Hurricane Katrina. The project, which is partially funded by federal and state historic tax credits, will result in 49 vacation rental units and ground-floor retail space.

The historic architectural features of the Italiante-style façades will remain intact. All of the second, third and fourth floors of the building and a portion of the bottom floor will be renovated into one and two bedroom vacation rental units. Two fifth-floor penthouse units with three bedrooms each will also be included. 10,000 square feet on the bottom floor of the building will house various retail tenants, in units fronting Carondelet Street and Perdido Street.

Extremely Lovely

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was beautiful. I had a wonderful experience. The pictures do not do the space justice. Overall it was clean. I would definitely consider this place again.

Great place!

  • 4 of 5

This place was gorgeous!! And spacious :) and very well situated! Would definitely stay here again.

Some suggested improvements:

- more towels

- more blankets to use on pull out couch and beds in colder months

-mattress in the king room was quite loud and uncomfortable, almost like an air mattress

Nice but not what I expected for the price

  • 2 of 5

Positives- building was secure, rooms were spacious, TV's had great picture and large selection of channels.

There was a lot of issues. Customer service at the 800 number were awesome but the staff on site who care for the building need to be re-evaluated.

What went wrong?

Room was not locked when we got there. My husband went in to make sure it was safe and to make sure there was no other guest there. We thought maybe we were assigned the wrong room #. All clear, just cleaning people forgot to lock.

Beer cans were left on the patio from the last guest's

bathroom had no toilet paper, since there is no front desk we had to call the 800 number and wait for someone to bring some.

no coffee maker, again called 800 number, someone brought one but it was broken. called again to ask for a new one, it never got there.

the stopper for the tub was broken. it was stuck in the drain so when you went to shower the tub filled. my husband got the stopper out after playing with it for 15 min but then we could not get it back in so we could not give the kids a bath. if you have kids you know how important that is, showers are not a childs favorite

king bed was broken, bolt holding it together was missing.

tv in bedroom is on top of a tall dresser and the bed is low to the ground so when you lay in bed you can only see part of the screen and need to get up to change the channel because the sensor can not reach

each bed only has a sheet and a thin fleece blanket. there is no comforter in the rooms at all. even though it is in the south it was freezing. thank goodness we each brought a lap blanket for the plane we definatly needed them.

There was a pile of sand in the closet neatly in the corner like the cleaning people swept it there and never picked it up.

The amount of dirt and dust bunnies under the beds and couch show they they have not been cleaned in MONTHS

There are large doors with windows in the living room/kitchen at night we went to close the curtains and noticed a HUGE rip, even when closed it was so large the neighbors can see through it.

seating in the living room is challenging depending on how many people you have. small love seat and 2 small chairs. both very uncomfortable.

the 800 number said they have been having problems with the local team who cares for the building hopefully they get a new team. I think it could be a great place. It was annoying to have to call every day sometimes a few times a day. very disappointing for the money spent

Great upscale rental near the Quarter

  • 4 of 5

The unit was very surprising when we opened the door: upscale, modern, feel. There’s a HUGE private outdoor space that they didn’t mention in the ad, but should and should also add seating out there. The only complaint I had, which is the reason for the four star instead of five, is that the floor was VERY dirty. It appeared to not have been swept or mopped in a very long time or if at all. Other than that, great place, highly recommend to anyone.

Great Place in New Orleans!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time for our girls trip to NOLA! The space was clean and worked great for 4 of us. My only suggestion is maybe adding another mirror in the unit. It is hard for 4 girls to get ready with only one mirror in the bathroom.

The condo was spacious and clean

  • 2 of 5

While the condo was nice and clean and conveniently located, the lack of concern from the property management company Stay Alfred was very disappointing. An expensive Bluetooth speaker was accidentally left in the condo. Within 2 hours of leaving contact was made with Stay Alfred to request they contact local management to retrieve this item. Clearly this item has been stolen from us now. I will not be using this management company again.
