Weather: A lot of people consider the Costa Del Sol to have the best climate in mainland Europe. Averaging over 320 days of sunshine a year. Not over hot in summer [when other parts of the Med exceed 38oC]. And warmer sunnier and drier in winter [when most of Europe is below freezing the warmest place is likely to be the Costa Del Sol. Jan temps mid 60'S]. Nerja however has an even better climate than the rest of the coast. It has its own micro climate as a result of the sheltered bay and the mountains directly behind. El Capistrano Playa itself is very sheltered. There is nearly always a cooling breeze in the summer months and the lower terraces at the apartment is lovely and sheltered for sunbathing even in January. There is a local saying that well describes the climate, 'the sun spends the winter in Nerja and the breeze spends the summer'.

apartment522 is in a fabulous position within capistrano playa. It is top floor centre on so has stunning views out over the sea. And also to the mountains behind. It has full sun from sunrise to sunset if wanted between the 2 terraces. It has thru ventilation with windows back and front. Is light bright and airy. Is finished to a high contemporary standard. Air con. Free wifi. Full sky package tv. Easy access from the road. Close to the pool. Quiet and no noise from neighbours above as there is noone above!

There are two terraces with sun virtually from sunrise to sunset. Both with stunning views over the Mediterranean. Lower terrace sun till about 4pm. Sheltered also ideal for winter sun. We have now used this excellent apartment three years in a row, and will definately return again and again and again..... A really excellent apartment for two persons very well equipped and with one of the best locations in this area.

Fantastic apartment with beautiful views!

Excellent location and a very well equipped, clean apartment. We loved the scenic walk through the complex and gardens to the beach and town. We also walked the other way up to the main road to the supermarket. We were able to completely relax and sometimes spent the majority of the day at the apartment before finally getting around to going out! We loved the sound of the waves and the lovely sea breeze. We hired a car and most of the time we were able to park close by. Thank you Emma for letting your wonderful apartment! We will be recommending!

Capistrano Playa Apartment 522

Cleanliness was not up to standard. Half a toilet roll, towels old and worn. Not even a bottle of water in apartment for arrival. No information on how to get entry to apartment, no information on keys. Will not be back and will not recommend to other holidaymakers

Owner's Response: Hi. I am sorry to hear you were disappointed. If you'd have just contacted me we would've put any cleaning issues right immediately. The house manager's work is usually immaculate. I will follow this up. The towels were all bought new in June so I would need to look in to what might have happened there. Unfortunately our house manager is unable to provide a food pack but the tap water is perfectly ok to drink. We did speak about the keys and instructions that I had made a mistake and offered my sincere apologies not getting them to you on time but you were able to access immediately as the cleaner was at the apartment when you arrived as you were early trying to get in. Usual practise they are sent our once the balance payment is cleared. I wish that everyone's stay at apartment522 is a delight and I am sorry on this occasion we fell short of this. Kind regards. The apartment has absolutely terrific views- from both balconies! Pool is just steps away and the stairs to the beach are a bit challenging, but charming (worth it for the "reward" at the bottom- great breakfast and even better people-watching prior to a day by the sea).

We did it easily once we figured out the lift/route - carrying 4 bags of groceries and beach chairs/umbrellas. Small, but extremely comfortable. Would return in a heartbeat!

We must firstly say that the holiday started really well. We were here for 9 days and the apartment is very nice and the views are stunning. The apartment is very much what we expected and although small everything was very tidy and clean with everything we needed. Our only gripe was that the towels were well past their shelf life and for a boutique apartment should be replaced. The holiday took a turn for the worst on Monday (5th day) when three workmen arrived and started work on the apartment next door (Apartment 521) having their roof terrace refurbished. The sound of pneumatic drills removing tiles continued all day on Monday from 9:30 - 6:30 pm and part of Tuesday. Then later on Tuesday and for the rest of the week until we left on Friday morning we had the cement mixers operating outside our apartment along with the knocking, cutting and drilling etc. Parking in the area is not easy but along with a works van, a mobile skip and the cement mixer directly outside our apartment made life more difficult. This for us ruined what had started as a lovely holiday. As this is part of a large complex we feel that we should have been notified about any building work. As for the rest of the development I can only say that there does appear to be a number of maintenance jobs that are carried out throughout the day and whilst it did not disturb us too much (aside from next door) some people may find this annoying.

Nerja and the surrounding area is a delight with every type of restaurant and dining options you could wish for.

Owner's Response: Hi. I am so sorry to hear of the noise you experienced for the last part of your stay. It is generally such a quiet place, though of course works are done from time to time. (none over the summer months though). I wished you had contacted me to see if there was anything I could've done. The last thing I want is for any of our guests to be anything other than delighted. This is the first time in 10 years this has happened to any of our guests. Once again I'm really sorry it happened to you. As they are all privately owned unfortunately we do not get to know ahead of work being done. I'll chase up on the towels right away. Parking is usually great and 522 is very lucky that it is right outside the door. Alternatively the underground garage a minute away does usually always have space. I'm sorry for you it didn't.
