We spent our vacation at this Breathe Easy cottage hiding in a large mountain natural forest.

It was so relaxing and wonderful and had some good quality family time. I had one of the best vacations of my life!!!

Everyone had a wonderful time at the cottage. We were all so sad to leave.

You have a wonderful place.

It was an experience that we will all treasure.

Blissful mountain cabin

  • 5 of 5

With exception of the steep and crazy drive way, it was a perfect get away. The drive way was a little tricky but with a try or two we got it figured out. The rocking chairs on the porch with the stream rushing below was just perfect!

Relaxing Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at the cabin for 9 nights. We went to this cabin in the mountains for a quiet relaxing vacation. There were still things to do in the area when we wanted, but it was quiet when we wanted. Things to doing include hiking, visiting downtown business, shopping, caverns, dam, etc. The cabin was clean and neat. It seemed like it was well taken care of and we enjoyed our stay. The only issue we had was the driveway, which was difficult to get up because it is steep and the gravel was not packed and you couldn't get the best running start up the driveway unless you had someone willing to close the gate (which is manual) behind you and walk up the driveway. My daughter did that most of the time. We found by putting our minivan in Drive 1(1st gear) and turning off the traction control we were able to get up a little easier, but stone still threw you around a bit and the one side has a drop.

Great Stay - Comfortable Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very nice, Clean and comfortable. It was well equipped with everything a family would need. The rushing creek below can be heard from the cabin and is very therapeutic. We were concerned about the gravel driveway we would need to navigate to the cabin. But, found this to be easily tackled by driving slow and there was no problem at all. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this cabin to family and friends.

Very Satisfied

  • 5 of 5

Our group was made up of hikers, bikers, walkers, and a couple who was happy to do nothing and relax and enjoy the view from the patio and the facilities met all our needs excellently. Drove to Damscus and did the bike trail. Thanks for the lovely bag, a souvenir to take home to Deutschland.

Picturesque Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Loved everything about the rental. Beautiful cabin. Very attractive. It was exactly like the photos on the internet. Like not having to keep up with a key. We have stayed many rental places in the area and this is the best. We also met a neighbor who was very kind and offered to assist in hike to the falls. The falls was amazing.

We drove 6 hours and left the cabin after one hour on the property. I am a teacher with one vacation so walking away from prepaid 5 day rental was a hard decision. The driveway is 45 degrees up with loose gravel and took our CRV four attempts to reach the top. The pictures on the website do not show the slope. There are no screens on any windows so forget fresh air. The creek was not at the doorstep as advertised but down the treacherous driveway and across the road. Then I noticed active surveillance cameras everywhere recording our movements. As a last attempt to find something we enjoyed, we turned left out of the driveway to see the falls. A sign stating “If you can read this you are in my gun sights” was the last straw. When I contacted the owner, he stated he never advertised screens and said I was confused, malicious and accusatory. He would report me as a ‘bad renter’. I thought he would offer half of my money back.

I then realized several positive reviews were written in same writing style.

Hopefully I will at least get the cleaning fee back since we never touched anything. We then drove 6 hours home.

Owner's Response: The Cabin is located on 100+ acre mountainous property in the Blue Ridge Mountain range. Abrams Falls Creek flows across the property in front of the cabin. The owner or caretakers do not live on site, and this is a remotely managed property. The closest neighbor is 1/4 mile away. Therefore, for the protection and the security of the cabin, guests, and owners, the property is equipped with an outdoor CCTV security system. Automated security system can't be turned off for someone's lifestyle. Abrams Falls Cabin always maintains a high-quality family-friendly environment. Our guests can access the falls by hiking the short trail (on the left side of the creek). We have no control over display signs on other properties and their freedom of expression, and "gun signs" are not a rare sight on this part of the country. The only sign we have on our property is "Private Property, No Trespassing." All pictures of Abrams Falls Cabin on VRBO/HomeAway are as-is pictures of the property and the cabin. All our reviews are genuine experiences of our guests who stayed at the cabin. Almost every guest who stayed at the Abrams Falls Cabin had a pleasant time and enjoyed their vacation; some are repeat guests who visit us annually. Update (August 2017): Now we have a brand new concrete driveway and it is a breeze to drive.
