Everything we needed
My family and I stayed at the cabin this week and just returned home. What a wonderful time we had! We fished, swam, hiked, cooked, played badminton and listened to the loons. It was magical. We hope to return soon. Thank you Ivan and Dani!
Awesome cabin! Off the grid was just what we needed and this is the perfect spot for it! Highly recommend this cabin!
This cabin and property was beautiful!
What a wonderful place to get away from it all! The cabin is cozy, tastefully decorated, and very well appointed. The lake is pristine and absolutely beautiful. Being so close to the Appalachian trail allowed us the opportunity to explore 3 different sections of the trail and we even crosssed paths with some thru hikers on their way south to Georgia. The little town of Monson was charming and the quiet peaceful area was like medicine for our souls. This was hands down our best vacation ever and all thanks to the fantastic cabin and property we stayed on. Thank you Mr. Schwendt! We can’t wait to come back next year!
Thank you for your glowing review.
We are very happy you enjoyed your stay.
We hope to see you again.
Great place to get away from th ecity
Clean, well equiped, lot's of room : very nice place.
Our group of 5 had a memorable stay here. The cabin is comfortable clean and modern, with all the amenities we could have wished for. Both the cabin and grounds are gorgeous, with wonderful lake views. Kayaks/canoes, SAP, volleyball and badminton (with net all set up) were provided and in great condition. Modern and very well equipped kitchen made cooking easy and enjoyable. In short, all the comforts of home and then some, in a breathtaking setting. There are quite a few properties around lake Hebron, but this one is pretty secluded and very quiet - no sight or sound of any neighbors.
We found the location perfect for our needs - just a short drive to all the hiking we had planned (some within walking distance) on the AP and surrounding trails. Nearby Monson is a charming little town - Pete's Place is particularly good and the information center for the AP was extremely helpful.
This was truly our best ever vacation home rental! And I use VRBO, HomeAway, FlipKey, Airbnb, etc for virtually every vacation, we never stay in hotels. The first 5 minutes are always the scariest when turning that key, but it was like instant peaceful karma the second we stepped in the door. The lake was so beautiful and warm, I was at the dock by 6am every morning with my coffee and had either a kayak or paddle board and swim by 8am. We did the Borestone Mountain trail hike one day, really Ivan - "moderately strenuous"?? C'mon that's a really hard hike, lol- but is so worth it, I can't wait to do it again. We went into Greenville one day for lunch but for the most part stayed right by the lake. The kitchen and bbq was perfect for preparing all our meals. And the sound of the loons and watching the stars at night, priceless. Note-if you're traveling with another family, don't expect too much "privacy", but if you're already close enough to be vacationing together, I don't see how this can be an issue ;) Dreaming of getting back there next summer!
