If you are looking for something in the Orlando area and would like to enjoy some of your stay in two locations visit our other VRBO listing #389940. Located on Lake Tohopekalega (Toho) in Kissimmee, FL.
We custom built this home with entertaining in mind. We are outdoor people who love to boat and live by the water. We wanted to create our own tropical paradise. The yard is very lush as we love to work in the yard and enjoy flowering plants. Bougenvilla, orchids, ginger, and bird of paradise are almost always in bloom.
Patty Deremer purchased this house in 1999
You can do all Florida has to offer by the way of sun, boating and fishing. Go see the pro's play football, baseball or hockey! Visit the Theme Parks! Swim with Manatees. All this only minutes from your front or backyard depending on how you are traveling-boat or car?
Too many to list. Deep water dockage, grouper off the dock, private islands 4 miles away by boat, Tampa only a 40 minute drive. What's not perfect about all that?
We stayed for a week with our family of 11. Thank goodness we had such a great home with all the decks out back as the weather turned cold during our stay. The house was everything we were promised with plenty of space for everyone.
We arrived as a family of 6. Patty was very welcoming and took us through the whole house. House was fantastic despite hurricane being through the day before. Pool fabulous, rooms great, views from the house fabulous... Would I go there again? Definitely yes... Just watch out for the 9 head shower. Very very hot..... But apart from that would go there again and again. Thanks Patty for allowing us to come to Florida and have an amazing time.
We enjoyed a wonderful time at this luxury property. The home was clean, neat and all in working order. You can rent a boat from this area and it is a wonderful way to get out and fish and explore nearby islands. This is an absolutely peaceful, semi- private, gorgeous property. It is situated quite nicely on the corner, surrounded by lush tropical landscaping, making it ultra gorgeous. We watched dolphins come in and swim right in the cove! The owner, Patty was very helpful and accomodating. She gave us plenty of info on exploring and enjoying the surrounding areas.
If you have young children, I would add, be super vigilant as obviously the water and pool but less obviously, lots of steps and hard surfaces to have a mishap on. Recommended highly.
We chose this property for a large group to get away from it all and when we arrived we really didn't want to leave. My wife needed a break from helping her mother through her cancer treatments and this was the absolute perfect place. The owner was very responsive and stopped by just to make sure we were settling in well and knew how to work the pool, spa and entertainment systems and provided recommendations on local restaurants. The views from the top deck were incredible. On New Years Eve from the top deck you can see fireworks all across the horizon. The property is immaculate and well maintained. We really enjoyed the spa and lounging by the pool and sunsets at the beach.
We stayed there for a week with people coming in from different parts of the US. First, I can say that the home is beautiful! Patty went out of her way to accommodate our need for a mid week check-in and check-out, even though that disrupts another possible rental week. The house is well maintained, and clean. The deck and pool area was used extensively every day. One thing I'll note here, for those who like to sunbath 'European style', is that the pool and decks are private and excellently maintained (the spa is GREAT), but twice we had people go from their cars on the road to boats that were moored at some of the docks at the house without any notice. I'm guessing that Patty rents out the boat slips separately from the house. So just keep that in mind as you are laying out by the pool. It didn't bother our friends much, but we are not a shy group. The roof top deck is amazing, we watched both sunrises and sunsets up there, and the views were stunning. There is pretty much everything in the house that you'll need, the kitchen was fully stocked with utensils (except a baking pan, that one confused us but we improvised!), spices, even condiments in the fridge. The whole house music system had the house rocking every night, even the pool, decks, and roof have speakers! It's probably a good thing the house next door was empty during our stay. Any issue or question we had was immediately answered by Patty. And the issues were all minor, like the master bath shower only goes from hot, to hotter, there is no cool or warm setting - and fully open (it's got like 10 shower heads!) runs through hot water in under 30 minutes - but then with that much water flow, no water heater would keep up. That was our only real issue, everything else was just a question that Patty answered promptly - the shower was too hot until the hot water ran down some, then it was fine. So really, staying there a week, 8 people, everything else was perfect and we'd definitely stay again.
Patty also rents the home next door, and showed us that house too as it was also available. To be honest, the one next door is probably a nicer more updated home, but lacks the entertainment aspects of the one we stayed in (surround sound, rooftop deck, pool table, amazing decks around the pool) but if I was going with a group that didn't like partying or needed more space or just had a few people, I'd chose the one next door. You won't go wrong with either one.
Everything was great. House is pretty new, spacious, and in perfect working order.
The outside area is amazing - I've been a resident in the area in the past for many years and I can tell you that such an expansive wraparound dock (you can see it in the pictures) is rare.
