Some vacation spots take your breath away-- this one makes you take a deep breath, relax, and bask in nature's beauty at its best.
The two-story cabin's ground floor has a large open concept kitchen, dining room and living room. The ground floor half-bath also offers full laundry facilities. Off the dining room, an enclosed sun porch provides gorgeous views through hardwood trees down to the water.
Upstairs features two very large bedrooms (with queen size beds), and each bedroom opens onto a covered deck that runs the length of the cabin. There is also a sitting room and a full bathroom between the two bedrooms and a loft area with a daybed in the second bedroom. The cabin sleeps six comfortably.
The outside stairway leads to a private dock right on the spring-fed lake where you and your guests can enjoy a full range of activities including swimming, fishing, boating, and picnic lunches while soaking up sunshine on the sparkling blue water.

My wife, Mary, and I enjoy outdoor activities, meeting people, and sharing our place. We love the Flint Hills and Lake Wabaunsee.
I built my first cabin near Boulder Co. which influenced the design of this cabin (I both designed and built this cabin as well) giving it a notable Colorado-style.
We have the cabin to help us create good memories. We hope you will come visit and create some good memories of your own.
Jim Woodward purchased this cabin in 1987
The Lake is 30 minutes from our home. I first went to the lake on a fishing trip with my dad when I was 10. I had a great time and caught my fill of sunfish. It continues to be a good place to create great memories.
There is something enchanting about the lake. It renews us both mentally and physically when we spend time here; it is the perfect break from the stress of everyday life.
Relaxation and subtle beauty. Lake Wabaunsee is a great place to be mindful and enjoy your family and friends.
Going to Lake Wabaunsee feels like going back in time; back to the simpler times of the past.
Second time at this cabin. Celebrated my 60th birthday with family and friends. Love this cabin. Well equipped and very clean. The lake life was great. Steps to lake gave us all a workout. But we all had such a wonderful time. Thank you Jim for letting us stay and will be back next year.
The property was as advertised. The lake was beautiful, the house was relaxing. The owner exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful time.
We had a great time relaxing and getting away from business of life. Only problem we could see was limited resturants and grocery stores close by, but we took food so had no problem.
We came down in a group of fourteen. There were six adults and 8 kids. We could not ask for a better cabin. There was plenty of space and a deck for almost every room. We grilled, had beverages, swam, kayaked, fished, relaxed, and boated around the lake. The cabins accommodated everything we brought and then some. We had so much fun and the worst part about the trip was packing the vehicles to go home. If you have a chance to visit this lake in the Flint Hills of Kansas I suggest you do so, you will not regret it.
Jim was SO amazing to work with!!! The houses were perfectly located, well stocked, beautifully furnished, very honey, inviting, neighbors were great!!! This was an AWESOME getaway!!! We will definitely be returning!!
We were looking for a quite and relaxing getaway with our friends and we found it! Since it is winter there was not anyone around for miles. The cabin has pretty much what you need to cook and enough space for food prep. If more than 4 are staying be sure to take extra plates and glasses or take paper ones with you.We played games at the dining table and watched movies and a couple of bowl games on the large tv. We are looking forward to another stay at the lake and renting one of their larger cabins for a family gathering. The owners were helpful and were quick to respond to the questions we had.
-The lake and the Flint Hills offer many great motocycle rides. During the warm months of the year, many travel by motorcycle.
-One of our favorite things to do is explore some of the rarely traveled Flint Hills gravel (and dirt) roads on an off-road motorcycle. The lake is a great place to take a stroll. A popular mode local transportation is the golf cart.
-There is an old Santa Fe Trail restaurant in Council Grove that serves family style dinners that is worth the trip. The drive is great.
-Paxico in near by and it is known for a blues festival and many antique shop.
-Alma is quaint and also has antique shops.
-Sky Line Drive is a nice gravel road drive that offers a good view of the flint hills.
-The Tall Grass National Prarie Park is a great place to see and hike. Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve (US National Park Service)
