About this property

StarGazer Ocean Front Condo

The Seawall is a naturally occurring granite, loose boulder and rock seawall with easy shore walks and tidepools to explore. The property sits directly across from it and is a short distance to the park's picnic area. From the apartment's balcony, you can watch the waves crash on the rugged shoreline and watch the sunrise over the Great Cranberry Island. On a clear night, it is one of the best places in the country for stargazing.

Just beyond the scenic area, you'll approach two of many walking trails of Acadia: Ship Harbor and Wonderland. Each is less than a two-mile hike along the ocean and nature trails. A short drive from these trails is the Bass Harbor Lighthouse that has been guiding mariners with its light since 1858. The dramatic setting, especially at sunset, is a photographer's dream!

Come enjoy what Acadia has to offer! Stay with us for a relaxing experience! Book now!

GREAT place - FYI, slim kitchen
This condo is great! Very close to Acadia/Bar Harbor, gorgeous view of the ocean right off of the deck, and very cute/well-maintained interior. Only one thing to note: we made dinner (5 adults) at the condo a few nights of our week-long stay and found that the kitchen didn't have any spices/seasonings and only a small selection of pots and pans. We made it work - cooked pasta noodles in two batches, for example, since there was only one mid-sized pot available - but it's something to be aware of if you do plan to cook for a group during your stay. But we would 100% stay in this rental again on a future trip - it was the perfect place to relax after long days hiking and exploring Acadia.

Beautiful
We stayed in Stargazer and it was lovely. The place was clean. The pictures are exactly what you are getting. The view was spectacular. I was very happy we stayed the week we did in July because the unit does not have AC. We didn't need it because we always had a breeze from the coast but a good heat wave might be a problem. The location was wonderful as well. It is out of the way from all the traffic but that means it takes longer to get to the Loop Road. That didn't bother us in the least. We also picked up the Island Bus to go into Bar Harbor so we didn't have to drive and park which was a major plus. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic Rental
The Stargazer was the perfect rental for our MDI vacation. We chose to stay on the Quiet Side of the island with our toddler and were not disappointed. Stargazer offers an amazing view of the ocean and we loved waking up every morning to the sound of the waves and ocean breeze coming into the Master Bedroom. The condo was extremely clean, well furnished and had all of the amenities needed for a great stay. Located a short drive from downtown Southwest Harbor and minutes from Wonderland and Ship Harbor trails. We will absolutely stay here again on a future visit.

Amazing
We had a fantastic stay at the Stargazer. The views were amazing. The condo was very clean, well stocked, and met all of our needs. It is close to many amazing hikes and activities, but still in a quiet, peaceful setting. We hope to be back someday!

Welcome to the Quietside. We are a small, family run motel located just outside of Southwest Harbor on the ‘Quietside of the island’, removed from the boisterous atmosphere of Bar Harbor. Protected by the solitude of the park, we are still in a convenient location, situated three miles from both Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor restaurants and services.

Why they chose this property

Welcome to the Quietside. We are a small, family run motel located just outside of Southwest Harbor on the ‘Quietside of the island’, removed from the boisterous atmosphere of Bar Harbor. The ‘Quietside’ is the less commercialized and more family oriented west side of Mount Desert Island. We border one of the more serene entrances to Acadia National Park and offer comfortable, clean lodging with an engaging breakfast every morning. Protected by the solitude of the park, we are still in a convenient location, situated three miles from both Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor restaurants and services.History:Built in the 1960s, the Seawall Motel has been a trusted “Maine Stay”, delighting guests from near too far, for decades. Abutted by Acadia National Park and the rocky shores of the Atlantic Ocean, travelers need not look farther than the front yard to find a plethora of outdoor activities, amazing sights, and glorious ocean views. In addition to the walking trails of Ships Harbor and Wonderland, the Bass Harbor lighthouse is just a few minutes’ drive or bike ride away. If an ice cream sundae, glass of wine or a cozy latte is more your cup of tea, the downtown district of Southwest Harbor is nearby with quaint shops, restaurants, and local attractions certain to delight all ages.Though Southwest Harbor has its own fair share of restaurants, Bar Harbor another foodie and exploration destination is an easy trek across the island via automobile or shuttle, but if an authentic lobster dinner, or something a little more casual is more your style, the world-famous Charlotte's Legendary Lobster Pound is within walking distance of the motel property featuring a full menu, with tastes for all diets. Not only does this fun family outdoor restaurant deliver legendary food and a nostalgic experience. It is also worthy of note, that delivery to the motel can often be arranged and the restaurant allows BYOB.
