You will find this very large 7 bedroom 5.5 bath home has all the amenities needed to sleep 16 or more guests. The Big house sleeps a total of 30 persons. Need more space? The Big House features a large over sized living room with a 16 ft open beam ceiling, and hand hammered iron chandelier. The rustic wall finishes and wood fireplace make for a real mountain home experience.

The Big House kitchen is well equipped and includes chef sized 6 burner stove.

The downstairs floor features 3 downstairs bedrooms, 5 full sized bathrooms and washer and dryer.

Upstairs features a half bath, 4 more bedrooms, game room with Foosball table, board games and TV.

For outdoor entertainment, this mountain getaway has a large charcoal BBQ pit along with patio furniture and a huge outdoor front porch to relax and enjoy a BBQ with family and friends.

The Big House property also includes horseshoe pit, volleyball net and play set for kids.

This spacious mountain home has it all complete with a picturesque barn, barn animals, gazebo, and a tree swing set. Deer are often seen on and around the property as well as horses and occasional quail.

The accomodations were great for our group.

The beds were comfortable and the many bathrooms were great for everyone getting ready at the same time. The play area was great for the little kids. The house was clean and comfortable for our stay. We would recommend it for any group looking for large accomodations. Plenty of refrigeration space with the 2 two door frigerators and kitchen facilities.

Big house

My family and I just finished our week stay at your Big House on Dunlap Road, and I want you to know that it is one of the best places we have in the twenty years we have had our annual family gathering. We appreciate your letting us use the facilities.

When we arrived there were only two table knives, and no wine bottle opener. We are pleased to be able to donate a bottle opener, twelve table/steak knives and a dish drainer to your facility.

Some truth in advertising considerations: The stove has five burners, not six. There is no fire place, but instead a large wood-burning stove. There were no sheets for the bunk beds, which a large family would certainly use. The television is only used to watch DVDs, there is no commercial television service. White-water rafting is only available from April to mid July.

Minor problems: Two bulbs in the main chandelier are burned out, as is the light over the sink.

Major problem: I wished to show the stars at night to my mostly city-living family members, and the best place to do it was the back yard where there was more opening to the sky. However, the outside light in the rear of the house prevented this. We could not find a switch to turn out the light so we tried the breakers in the main breaker panel. None of them would turn off the light, but the light could be turned off with the main breaker switch. Since this turned of all the power to the house, we did not want to use this method of turning out the outside light. However, this operation showed that the breaker switch that controls the light is no longer functional, and that circuit is no longer protected. Thus a short in that line for any reason could cause considerable damage, most likely a fire. I did not have any test equipment with me to determine which breaker is bad, but an electrician could do so quickly and replace any bad breakers.

Potential really major problem: The main breaker panel is an indoor panel, not rated for outside use. Thus rain and snow can get into the panel. Water is the enemy of electrical things, and will eventually destroy any breakers not already made unfunctional. The breaker panel should be replaced with an outside rated one, or a water proof enclosure should be built around the panel before serious damage occurs to your lovely property.

HUGE HOUSE, LOTS OF SPACE

The house has tons of space both indoors and outdoors, this is a plus when traveling with a large group. A few of the positive things the house has: (1) Two huge refrigerators (2) AC works great (3) Lots of Beds (4) Washer and Drier a must when traveling. (5) Ping Pong table, and kids swings awesome (6) A huge play room, that was used to play by the kids, it was an awesome. A few con's (1) Ants everywhere( expected when you are in the outdoors (2) Frogs everywhere (comes with the territory, there is a pond near by. Overall the house served it's purpose.

Big house for large group

This house has plenty of rooms for large groups. Our young boys loved the room with bunk beds. Kitchen area is big enough for several adults to cook and enjoy meal together. It also has outdoor grills. Plenty of shower rooms with hot waters. Our kids enjoyed the outdoor areas. Melinda was great in handling the rental arrangement. She also gave detail direction on how to get there. If you're not into winding road, you may want to consider her driving direction. Few things to we encountered during our stay. The weekend we stayed, the 2nd floor thermostat batteries were low so we couldn't turn it on. Good thing we were able to get AAA batteries from the nearest gas station. One of the swings in the playground was loose, but the kids were still able to enjoy other equipment to play with. This big house is in the farm area. We heard cows from neighbors, frogs from small lake (more like large ponds) next to the house, and not surprising to encounter few mice running around. Overall we had a good time at this house and it's very close to the primary place we wanted to visit, King Canyon and Sequoia national parks.
