About Cindy Mault

My grandmother purchased the cottage in 1952. I loved spending summers there with my parents, brothers and sisters. We enjoyed being close to the ocean and the boardwalk and looked forward to visiting each year. Even though I live and work in the Virgin Islands, a visit to Rehoboth has always provided me and my children with a connection to an old fashioned vacation filled with walking or riding bikes around town. The cottage is now filled with its fifth generation of happy family vacationers!

Why Cindy Mault chose South Rehoboth

The location is ideal. We enjoy coming up from the beach, hanging our towels on the line and taking outside showers. The large screened porch is fun for adults and children. The first floor 'playroom' offers a queen sleeper sofa option (with attached bath) and/or provides a quiet space for game playing or watching movies at the end of a full day!

What makes this house unique

Attractive, well located, fenced yard, fully enclosed outside shower and large front porch...park the car (room for 2) and you're set to relax! Guests will enjoy refurbished bathrooms, fresh paint throughout, new queen beds and a spiffy, updated exterior!

Very charming!!!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the place, its charm, location and just everything about the place. The house was very clean and well-maintained with all the charm you would expect from a classic Rehoboth beach house. The kitchen had modern appliances and was well furnished with all the basics we needed. The house is within walking distance of the beach and all the main attractions on Rehoboth Avenue. All we had to do was park and the entire town was within a ten minute walk!

We will definitely be back!

Comfortable and close to everything worth doing!

  • 5 of 5

This has been a long time favorite rental property for my extended family, but the very first stay for my wife, two kids, and me. What a treat! The house is comfortable and close to everything. The beach and boardwalk are five minutes away on foot so there was never a need to get in the car. We all rented bikes from a nearby bike rental and enjoyed riding through the neighborhood which is quiet and shady. We spent a lot of time on the porch just relaxing, reading, and enjoying wine and appetizers in the late afternoon. The front yard was the perfect staging area for an old-fashioned lemonade stand and our family spent a happy afternoon making signs, cutting up lemons and serving people walking up from the beach. Hope to get back to this lovely spot in August. The cottage is amazing, one that is truly unique and a lovely vacation spot for a relaxing and accessible stay.

Location, Location, Location, as advertised!

  • 5 of 5

I was fortunate to stay at this wonderful property last spring. The owner was easy to work with and made sure all my questions were answered. In my opinion, it's not only attractively decorated and welcoming, but located in the perfect spot. I was able to walk to all the beach attractions and great restaurants, no need to drive. I particularly appreciated the closeness of the boardwalk; I was out the door walking or biking along the ocean in minutes, For those looking for comfort and convenience, this property is the perfect choice. I highly recommend it.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the glowing review. I know you mentioned enjoying the location because you wanted to be close to everything. So happy the weather was good during your stay and you were able to ride your bike on the boardwalk.

Lovely cottage near the sea!!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful old but updated house with everything you need!! So close to the beach and the boardwalk (a little over a block away) and within walking distance to Rehoboth's shops and restaurants. Stayed here with my mom and sister for a girls' weekend and the three bedrooms and two bathrooms were perfect! Thank you for sharing a piece of your family history with us:)

Great Value!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I traveled down with our 6 month old. The house was perfect - the beach vibe we were seeking. Short walk to the beach/boardwalk on a beautiful street. The screened in porch was great! We had the Grandparents down one night so we could have a date night - walking distance to our favorite spots - Henelopen City Oyster House, Dogfish, etc. The master bedroom had enough space for our pack-n-play. The AC units were great! Backyard was awesome. Driveway was just enough space. This has to be the best value for the area. Thanks!

Cozy Cottage but.....

  • 3 of 5

This is a cute cottage with great walking distance to the beach and funland. However it is in drastic need of updating! Listing states "air conditioning" should state window air conditioners and in need of replacing! The smaller bedroom with twin beds has an old window air conditioner that is loud and does not function very well. We could not use that bedroom for our two small children. They couldn't fall asleep in this room. Carpets are old and dirty looking! Kitchen floor is old and dirty looking! Not worth the rental price! Have stayed in other rentals on this same street and they were updated and clean. Our cars were a mess from parking in the driveway! Overgrown trees, pine needles and pine cones everywhere! Would not rent this property again.

Owner's Response: We try our best to be sure guests enjoy their stay at our property. Although this is its first negative review, we will follow up with property manager to be sure that new and returning visitors are treated to the same level of service that has been maintained over the years. Please be assured that we will check the air conditioning unit in the middle bedroom and replace it immediately if it does not work. In closing, we realize that your vacation week was a rainy one and that must have been disappointing. The cleaning service mentioned that it was a challenge keeping properties in good order in such severe weather.

Location

Car: not necessary

Located in the heart of Rehoboth Beach, this unique property gives guests the ability to walk or bike to the best attractions and activities in the area. The ocean and the resort's popular boardwalk can be reached in minutes! Local restaurants offer a variety of dining choices both casual and fancy. Again, these are a short walk from the cottage.
