Comfortable accommodation perfect for families

  • 4 of 5

The house was very comfortable and spacious. It suited our large family of 9 people very well. Our small children loved the quiet street in front of the house to ride bicycles and play ball. The garden was well maintained and inviting. The balcony offers a nice view of the lake and towards the old town. The property owner was there to welcome us on the day of arrival and gave us a thorough explanation of how things work.

The location is perfect if you like to be away from the busy, touristy center. By bike we had about 20 minutes to the old town. It was a good walk of about 30 minutes on foot. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the accommodation in the future.

Two weeks in Annecy

  • 4 of 5

We have little to add to earlier reviews. Lake Annecy and the surrounding countryside is magnificient, with something for everyone. The property is well situated, well equipped and comfortable. The owner was extremely helpful, handling the administration very efficiently. A wonderful holiday, thank you!

wonderful holiday

  • 5 of 5

We were two families from Norway and looked for for a nice location for two weeks in the Alps. We do not regret at all to have selected Annecy and this house. The lake is really beautiful and provides all kinds of activities (we tried water skiing for the first time), it is very close to the house. The mountains in the areas are also great as well for hiking or canoyoning.

The house has everything you would expect (our children enjoyed wifi and free telephone calls). It is not like other rentals we had in the past where equipments were minimum, here it seems that the owners have given us access to all what they use on a daily basis (lot of tools in the kitchen to cook for example). The rooms are nicely decorated - like a chalet - and the beds are excellent ! We also used the bikes, the boat and the BBQ in the garden.

We met the owner at the beginning of the stay (we had to leave at 5 am the last day for a long journey back home), he gave us a book with all the details about the house and he also indicated us nice places to visit - useful indeed.

We really recommend this house and location.

Holiday in Annecy

  • 5 of 5

My husband, daughter, son-in-law and myself spent a week at this wonderful house last month. The house was very clean when we arrived, and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Plenty of room - and we especially enjoyed the deck for "happy hour" and dinners - on the evenings we chose to bbq at the house instead of dining out. The location is great - within walking distance to the gorgeous lake, lots of restaurants situated on the canals, lots of shops. Great market for groceries was just a 5 minute drive away.Yet, it's on a very quiet, secluded street which we loved. We took advantage of the four bicycles provided - and one day rode all along the lake, stopped for refreshments at "The Oasis" ....a perfect day:) The owner was so helpful, also - met us at the house when we arrived and took his time going over every aspect of the house, and made sure we had everything we needed. No problem having our security deposit refunded - it was done very promptly upon our return home.

We would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

And would also recommend taking a boat ride on the lake; driving to Chamonix and taking the gondola up the mountain - and to take the bikes out to ride - there are wonderful bike paths everywhere.

Our stay in Annecy

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Annecy was perfect in every way. The house was clean, quiet and beautifully equipped with everything we needed, including four bikes. It suited 9 of us very comfortably, including four small children who were delighted with the large garden, the walk to the beach, the cycle around the lake on rented children's bike seats and a hike up a nearby mountain. A huge grocery store ten minutes away provided all our meals and the financial transaction with the owner was easy and efficient.

I would not hesitate to recommend this property to others, specially families with small children. D. Cowley, Ottawa, Canada.

Wonderful location, pleasant to do business with

  • 5 of 5

The house has a beatiful location with great views. We were there in early September and the weather was pleasant but not too hot. Whilst public transport is available its best to have a car to get around. We had a wet start to the week but visited CERN (where the hydron collider is) which made a great day out for any family with even a vague interest in Science or the history of the Web - even better if you book well in advance so you get the full trip.

We spent two days in Chamonix (about an 80 minute drive away) with a two day ticket for the cable cars, trains and ski lifts. The cable car trips up each side of the valley were magnificent and we could easily have used a 3rd day there. We also had a good visit to the Gorge du Feuer (!) which was about 20 minutes away - and another excellent site to visit.

The cottage owner provided clear instructions of where everything was and how it could be used and provided great customer service. Internet and phones were freely available together with all the normal facilities. Some of the books he's produced were also at the house and showed the mountains in all their glory.

I'd not hesitate to recommend the house, the location and the owner to friend and family - we would certainly be happy to go there again.
