Location, location, location! You won’t find better than this!
The apartment is in trendy Fitzrovia, in the heart of the West End, a super central location with a villagey feel and Georgian architecture. The area was once home to such writers as Virginia Woolf, George Bernard Shaw and Arthur Rimbaud. Today it is a popular and lively neighbourhood with a residential and business mix. The numerous media companies based in the area feed into a trendy and vibrant buzz.
You won't get bored in the immediate vicinity. We have heaps of bars, restaurants, supermarkets and great transport links a few minutes away in Tottenham Court Road / Charlotte Street. There's some beautiful Georgian architecture in the area such as Fitzroy Square, a pedestrianised garden square. The gardens are open during the summer. It's a step from the apartment.
There is a good range of shops nearby and a huge choice of delicious restaurants and bars. Tourist London is easily accessible on foot or by tube. Several supermarkets are close by (including a good Sainsburys, Tescos, Marks and Spencers Food Hall and Waitrose).
Warren Street, Goodge Street and Euston Square tubes stations are within a 5 minute walk. Tottenham Court Road and St Pancras are within 10 minutes.
Being so central though, you can walk to all of tourist London. The British Museum is 10 minutes away. You've got Oxford Street / Soho very close by (a 10 minute walk), Covent Garden will take you about 15 minutes, Regent's Park about 10-15 minutes. Camden is a 5 minute bus ride. You can head in any direction and arrive somewhere interesting.

We know the area well and can thoroughly recommend it for its central location, great transport links (although you'll probably be mostly on foot as tourist London is very walkable!) and wide choice of bars and restaurants. It's a highly desirable neighbourhood with beautiful architecture and interesting streets. People come from all over London to enjoy some Fitzrovia life. We're lucky enough to be based here and hope to see you here too!

We love this property because of the fantastic terrace! It's such a bonus and a rare find in Central London. Lay out on the lounger and watch the clouds go by on an uninterrupted sky - it's a pretty unique view in London! It's always a pleasure to enjoy this secluded spot. Only the BT Tower, your own landmark, reminds you that you're right in the thick of the West End!
Location wise, it couldn't be better. The local area is buzzing but the flat is in a quiet street so you get the best of both worlds.
There’s a huge array of bars and restaurants in the area, including in nearby Charlotte Street and neighboring Soho. For entertainment, you have Theatreland close by, numerous cinemas, comedy clubs, late night bars, dancing and nightclubs.
If shopping appeals, you can shop til you drop in nearby Oxford Street, Regent Street, Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, Camden Market and Bond Street. They are all a walk away.
For outside life, neighboring Fitzroy Square is a peaceful and pleasant place to enjoy a sandwich and watch the world go by. Alternatively, it’s a 10 minute walk to Regent’s Park, a wonderful 410-acre open space offering stylish gardens with cafés, rose and wildlife gardens, a boating lake, sports facilities, an open-air theatre and zoo.
The property was clean and comfortable. However, there were limited towels and sheets for the bed, and this should really be addressed for further renters. Also, the patio was not maintained well, and there was absolutely no view to speak of. The property is in a good location with many amenities within walking distance.
Unfortunately, we were informed three days before our visit that the elevator might not be working. The owner must have known that this was due to a scheduled maintenance, and that it would not be available for the entirety of our visit (it is down until May 1). She really should have fully informed any renter well in advance, or made some concessions. The flat is on the seventh floor making use difficult without a lift.
We spent 14 days in this lovely top floor flat. The large terrace was especially nice even in mid February. The flat was equipped with everything we needed including the efficient kitchen. We loved having a washer and dryer. It is located between 2 tube stops which made it convenient to visit the sights throughout the city. Would definitely rent this flat again in the future!!!!
The location of this flat is wonderful: the area is very walkable, and there's lots to walk to: nice places to eat on Charlotte Street, good pubs nearby, the British Library and British Museum are well in range. Additionally, tube stations and buses are nearby and Kings Cross/St. Pancras isn't far either. The building/flat is on a commercial block (seems to be an area with design/marketing companies), which means that it's quiet at night (a plus in my book). The flat itself is comfortable with lots of light and accommodated 3 of us easily. It wasn't the season to use the terrace (were there in January), but I can see what a plus it would be in warmer weather—you can see the London Eye from it! The bedroom is comfortable, the closet space ample, the kitchen well outfitted, the bathroom modern, the washing machine/dryer handy, and the wifi strong and reliable. The hosts are gracious, helpful, and responsive (we blew a fuse and needed instruction on how to reset it); they clearly care about their guests and, in addition to providing a very helpful guide to the area, local amenities, transportation, and some tourist suggestions for London in general, they make themselves available as needed. Wonderful stay!
The property was definitely as described. The building was convenient to get to, and seemed well-maintained. The neighborhood was comfortable to walk through, and being close to the BT Tower meant we could see our "home" area from far reaches of London!
The flat was well-maintained, and clean and comfortable.
The location was perfect -- within walking distance of most things in central London, and within a few blocks of four Tube stations (Easton/Easton Square, Warren, Goodge St) and the Easton railway station, which meant that we could easily get to anything we wanted to see in or near London.
The flat itself was very nice (though not luxurious), with a comfortable bed, two sofas, a nice desk area where we kept our laptop set up (and wifi was a good speed, so we could simultaneously use laptop/phones/ipads). The kitchen was well equipped for any cooking, with lots of pots and pans, a good toaster, coffee maker, microwave, excellent stove, and good sized fridge/freezer. A small but handy dining table with chairs that neatly tucked out of the way when not in use. Having a washer/dryer was a big help. There were two TVs. The bathtub was a good size, and there was good water pressure and hot water for the shower. The lift to the seventh floor worked well.
There were several grocery stores within a few blocks, as well as a number of good restaurants and pubs. Also a nice street food area nearby on Tottenham Road.
Among other things, we visited the British Museum, St Paul's Cathedral, walked across the Millenium Bridge to the Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern. We walked along the Thames embankment (both sides) and attended a play in the West End. We walked through Regents' Park, and went to the Victoria and Albert Museum (we recommend it highly!) as well as the Natural History Museum. We also visited Churchill's War Rooms and Bletchley Park (where the Enigma code was broken in WWII) -- both well worth seeing. We also visited several excellent bookstores (Foyle's and Bookmarks) and had some lovely meals (just one example, St. Stephen's Tavern pub, opposite Big Ben, was crowded but served the best fish and chips we have had.)

We would definitely consider staying here again on another visit to London. We felt at home in "our" neighborhood.
Liz's flat worked out perfectly for our vacation trip to London. We loved everything about it! The flat is bright, friendly, very clean, with a decent size bathroom! The huge terrace was a very nice bonus and made the flat feel even more spacious. The location was excellent; centered in an energetic yet safe neighborhood, and surrounded by cafes, pubs, shops, and Starbucks. We walked almost everywhere, including to the main tourist attractions, but there was also very close access to the train system when needed. The BT Tower was a great guiding landmark when trying to navigate our way around the city and back to our home base. Liz went out of her way to make sure we felt right at home, and we would be thrilled to have the opportunity for a return visit to stay at her lovely flat again!
