Overview

About the property

3 bedroom comfortable villa close to beach, restaurants, shops and village

Set in beautiful olive groves this newly constructed villa built on two floors with a large garden/terrace area and a beautiful infinity swimming pool has stunning sea views over the Ionian islands to the mainland beyond. Villa Panorama is perfectly situated in a very green and exclusive private area on a hillside offering tranquility, peace and comfort. The views from the terrace around the pool and the balcony leading off the to upper bedrooms are spectacular and offer a great place to relax over a glass of wine. In the evening visit one of the excellent fish restaurants at the small seaside village of Ligia just 5 min drive from the villa or if you prefer not to drive, perhaps walk the 800m up to the from the romantic and unspoilt village of Katouna to visit the local taverna on the square. The villa is tastefully decorated and furnished with all modern facilities, like satellite TV, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, washing machine, full size cooker and fridge plus the all essential air-con.

Villa Panorama is close to Katouna where there is a very traditional taverna and cafe on the square open every evening. 2km drive to the coast is Ligia where there are plenty of tavernas plus mini markets, some of the best bakeries on the island, cafes and bars. The villa is built amongst beautiful Olive trees, Plumbago, Oleander, Bottle Brush and typical Greek fir trees. The gardens surrounding the house are full of flowers blossoming at different times so the surroundings are always colourful. There is a gated stone-paved area all the way around the house with a dining area overlooking the sea. We provide sun beds both on the patio around the private pool and on the upstairs balcony. The house is situated at the end of a private road with a private lit drive and a parking area for the house.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I have been travelling to Greece since 1977 and have been bringing my family to this beautiful country since 1999. Lefkada is without doubt one of the most lovely and understated islands in Greece, with just the right balance of things to do and see and space for quiet relaxation.

Lygia is an excellent base because, being to the north of the sheltered eastern coast of the island, it is close (but not too close) to the town of Lefkada yet provides easy access both down the eastern more touristy coast and across to the wilder western coast. It is also an ideal location to access most of Lefkada's better restaurants.

Situated in the hills above Lygia, Villa Panorama is a superb villa with a magnificent view, excellent pool, outdoor seating and sunbeds, air con throughout, and all the equipment one needs for a perfect and entirely comfortable holiday. We found the upstairs balcony area with its stunning views down the coast and towards the town a marvellous place to pass the late evenings after dinner. Although part of a small complex of villas, these are well separated, screened by trees and garden, and the experience of being in the villa is one of complete privacy. All in all it is a wonderful place to stay which we warmly recommend.

Finally a word of thanks to Lilias, who helped us settle in and find our way about. She was a brilliant guide, without being in the least intrusive. Thank you!

villa fantastica

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful villa, wonderful holiday

  • 5 of 5

This is a really lovely villa. It is bright, airy, clean, very well equipped, and very comfortable. It is situated on a hill side giving superb views - the sun rises infront of you in the morning over the hills on the mainland and for us this heralded unbroken, hot sunshine for the whole of the day. The pool is lovely, big enough for a family to enjoy together. We spent a fairly lazy week but there are plenty of things to see and do on the island. As others have said, one of the strengths of the villa is the owner, Lilias who is lovely, friendly and extremely helpful. She liaised with a local car hire firm for our rental car and this was delivered to the airport thus avoiding us queuing at the rental car desk. She gave us recommendations for restaurants and beaches; each of those we tried was lovely. She also offered to organise boat hire for us with a local firm and we spent a very peaceful day pottering around nearby islands. All in all this villa, Lilias, the island and the easy going nature of everyone we met meant that this was a very relaxed and enjoyable holiday. Highly recommended.

Wonderful holiday!!!

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful property. I strongly recommend it to everyone who wants to go to Lefkas. The house is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. The interior is very nice and everything is absolutely clean.

The pool is very clean, and the most amazing thing: the incredible view while enjoying the pool.

Good taste in decor combines with all of the sparkling cleanliness, comfort and facilities required for vacation. Great dining and sightseeing within relatively short travel times. We enjoyed our holiday very much and everything was really perfect in the house. The place is very quiet and perfect for relaxing. We look forward to coming back again!

Many thanks to Lilias who cared about us and the house, gave us a really warm welcome :-) and some great advices.

A perfect holiday

  • 5 of 5

It is pleasure to me to congratulate Lilias and the others who look after this property. Villa Panorama has got a perfect location. It is situated on the east coast near Ligia and Lefkada town. It is a part of a gated villas. So you may have privacy and quiet.

Everything inside and outside the villa is well-maintained.

The rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. The kitchen is really very good equipped. My family and I have done a bbq and we have had wonderful

evenings out by the pool.

It is convenient to have a car to visit and view other parts of the island. Picturesque east and gorgeous west with its magnificent beaches.

I strongly recommend to visit the small island Meganisi. There are three unbelievable villages there especially Pantohori. There is a ferry from Nidri. Also you can hire a boat for a day to see and enjoy the beautiful small islands against the bay of Nidri. The famous island of Onasis is there.

Once again thank you for everything!

Great Holiday!

  • 5 of 5

Hi everybody!

Actually is very difficult for me to write a review because as we truly enjoyed our stay in Panorama villa we really want to go back and it would be nice that the villa to be free at least a week for us to rent, if you get my point…

So this is my review [using absolutely “small” words… not to overcrowd the villa: sorry Lilias…]:

great villa,

great rooms,

great views,

great olive surrounded pool,

great hosts,

we are good friend with Lilias and Simon from Katouna village,

quiet and intimate nights,

restaurants [we did not forget about those] are within a few minutes reach.

Greece is Greece…

Lefkada is Lefkada…

My best!

A magnificent villa for a perfect holiday!

  • 5 of 5

When I saw the pictures and read the listing for Villa Panorama, I thought 'that looks good'. But in reality it did it no justice. It was OUTSTANDING!! A very private villa with breath-taking views. Perfect for our family of 6. It was spotless, We could not fault it at all. The pool was fantastic! Lilias, who looks after the property, was very helpful. Her friendliness and advice was very much appreciated.

We would highly recommend hiring boat for the day and exploring the local Islands. The children loved this so much that we did it twice! Local tavernas in Ligia were excellent. They were all very friendly and the children were pleased that they all spoke some English! It's possible to drive around the Island in a day, but be warned - the Island, beautiful and green as it is, is very mountainous. Take care on the hair-pin bends!!

When we return to Lefkas we shall return to Villa Panorama, thank you!

The sea views from the terrace around the pool and the balcony leading off the upper bedrooms are spectacular and offer a great place to relax over a glass of wine. In the evening visit one of the excellent fish restaurants at the small seaside village of Ligia just 5 min drive from the villa or if you prefer not to drive, perhaps walk the 800m up to the from the romantic and unspoilt village of Katouna to visit the local taverna on the square.

Lefkas Town, 10 mins drive, is the main commercial centre and has the best shopping facilities on the island. There is a quayside road south of the causeway entrance with a busy marina. The High Street runs through the centre of town and is also known as the ‘Pazari’, this is the main street for shopping and cafes. A mid-morning coffee in the square is ideal for a break and a perfect opportunity to see the Lefkadians in ‘action’! The architecture has been mainly influenced by the Venetians and the post Byzantine traditions but also by the Turkish and the English. The houses in the main part of the town are two storey buildings, very closely packed, without yards or gardens and with narrow alleyways running between them. It is lovely to walk around the back streets of the town where you are also more likely to see the typical Lefkadian houses wrapped in brightly painted corrugated iron - a form of protection against earthquakes introduced by the English during their rule of the island.

Ligia, 2 mins drive, is a pretty little coastal village on the east coast with an abundance of great fish tavernas located on the beachfront and on the picturesque harbour. There are a few cafes and bars in the village some of them right on the beach. At least 5 mini markets and bakeries can be found on the main road through the village and there is motorboat hire on the main beach.

Nidri, 15 mins drive, is the primary holiday resort on Lefkas. There are a variety of tavernas, restaurants and cafes here, also a handful of bars and a couple of nightclubs. The majority of shopping and tourist facilities are on the main street. On the seafront, known as the ‘Paralia’, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Pringiponissa islands - amongst which is Scorpios. Cruises and Ferryboats operate from here to Cephalonia and Ithaca.

Agios Nikitas, 15 mins drive, on the north-west tip of the island, is a pretty little village surrounded by fabulous beaches such as Pefkoulia, Kathisma and Kalamitsi. It has tourist facilities, many tavernas, restaurants and a few shops.

Vassiliki, 40 mins drive, in the south is a self-contained tourist resort with a full range of facilities. The harbour is lined with restaurants and cafes and the main street has a fair number of shops. Souvenir shopping is usually quite good here, there are lots of shops which specialise in casual wear and sports gear. Vassiliki is of particular interest to windsurf fans. Many sailing companies operate from here and you may hire windsurf boards and catamarans on a daily or hourly basis. Vassiliki has a ferry port operating a service to Cephalonia and Ithaca.

Porto Katsiki Beach

(approx. 1hr drive) Porto Katsiki, the best known beach, is today considered one of the most outstanding in the whole of Europe. This is a beach of exceptional beauty at the most southern tip of the island. A gorgeous shingle beach framed by high limestone cliffs and crystal-clear turquoise water. There are cafes and tavernas at the beach and sunbed facilities on the beach.

Engremni Beach

(approx. 1 hr drive). 296 or so, steps lead down to this stunning beach virginal fine shingle beach. One of the top beaches in the Ionian Sea this is a must for visitors to Lefkas island. As with Porto Katsiki it is a gorgeous beach framed by high limestone cliffs and crystal-clear turquoise water.

Exploring by motorboat: Taking a motorboat out can open up a realm of uninhabited beaches and coves. We can arrange motorboat hire for you if you wish to discover the surrounding coastline. There are many small deserted coves on the coast and excellent snorkeling areas where you can enjoy the local marine life such as Sea Urchins, Sea cucumbers, Hermit Crabs, Red Star Fish and when overturning stones or rocks perhaps you will be lucky to find a Brittle Starfish or even an Octopus!
