Florence Metropolitan Area Chateau-Country House "Torre Estate": Photos and Description
This is really a unique, beautiful Estate (for privacy and security reasons, name will be fully disclosed upon completion of the reservation), in an excellent location to take day trips to the gems of Tuscany and to Florence. Total privacy. The Tower itself was originally a watchtower dated to the medieval period, XIII Century, Florentine Republic, situated in a unique dominant and panoramic position, on the hills East-South East of Florence, on the Northern edge of the Chianti Region (denomination DOC Chianti Rufina), with a wide open view over the Florentine and Chianti hills. At only 15 km from the heart of Florence and ~2 km from a quaint village with stores, bank, post office and cafes. At 5 kilometers from the train station (free parking) from which frequent trains take you downtown, to the very heart of Florence, in ~25 minutes for 2-3 EUR. And at 10 km from Highways to Rome (therefore within easy reach of all major Tuscany world-renowned artistic and gastronomic centers), to Milan, to Venice and to the Mediterranean Sea . Obviously with immediate access to the Chianti Region picturesque roads.
Siena, Arezzo, Montepulciano, etc., all the Tuscan Classics are within easy reach
A 15-20 pages WELCOME DOCUMENT full of information about the Property but also on how to organize your trip, airports, car rentals, currency, tours, cuisine classes, outlet, etc. will be sent on request upon completion of the reservation. This is a precious source of information, built on the basis of my observations and those of Travelers like you, to avoid mishaps, confusions, misconceptions and costly unpleasant surprises!
The Torre Estate is at an elevation of ~200 meters, ~600 ft. That elevation, ventilation and 3 ft thick white stone walls maintain what most find a comfortable temperature during the Summer.
The Torre proper and successive additions encompass ~420 sq meters of living space (~4200 sq ft) over ~4.5 hectares (~11 acres) of land: woodland, terraced olive trees, gardens, terraces, balconies, tenuous trails and yards.
Approximately 220 sq meters (~2200 sq ft) constitute the Master Quarters ("la Casa Padronale"), herein described and depicted. They have been renovated, are in great conditions, up to code and feature many characteristics of the traditional Tuscan architecture. They encompass the East and South additions as well as the ground floor of the Tower itself (refer to the Listing pictures). The other two entirely independent areas, the Guest Quarters ("Il Fienile") and the Tower itself ("La Torre") are not rented at present. HENCE, WE MAY EASILY ACCOMMODATE FIVE, SIX, EIGHT+ GUESTS.
The Torre Estate is reached via a ~200 meters private dirt road from via della Torre, embedded in Mediterranean vegetation. Yards, stone terraces, balconies, flowers as well as herbs gardens (you are welcome to both), fruit trees, vines and 160 terraced mature olive trees complete the scenario. Approximately 4000 sq meters (~40,000 sq ft) of the land around the Tower complex itself are fenced. The front area of the Master Quarters themselves and the East Terraces, are independently fenced. The Guest Quarters ("il Fienile") on the West side of the Tower are further fenced and have their independent entrance, yard and terraces.
Presence of pets will be considered, let's discuss it. First priority is to maintain the habitable space itself free of allergens, particles and odors so as to give due consideration to travelers with allergies, etc.
In summary, so as to living space, the complex is articulated over three independent Quarters, the Master Quarters ("la Casa Padronale"), the Guest Quarters ("il Fienile") and the Tower itself ("la Torre"). This Listing refers to the Master Quarters (~220 square meters), the one we are discussing here. For larger parties extra guests may be hosted in the Master Quarters themselves (by deploying sofa beds) or in the vacant Guest Quarters ("il Fienile"), for an extra per-diem charge.
Master Quarters ("la Casa Padronale"): As we said, they encompass the entire ground floor of the Tower plus the South and East additions. They consist of two independent Suites (the Master Suite and the Guests Suite) each with a bathroom-en-suite. The Master Suite has independent entrances over the North and the East Terraces as well as an independent balcony. Living room and formal dining room with large panoramic windows and exits towards the South terrace and the greenhouse, a fireplace, a really fully equipped kitchen with gas burners, a day area with table, chairs and a sofa, the greenhouse (with wet bar, table and chairs) and terraces on the East, South and North sides of the complex complete this rather unique layout.
For completeness of the record, a word about "il Fienile" and "la Torre" spaces.
"il Fienile": Approximately 80 sq meters, on the ground floor of the West side addition, with an independent entrance, terrace and yard. Originally used by staff or guests, it consists of a charming living/dining room area with fireplace and library, kitchen, bathroom and large lofted bedroom.
“la Torre": it is the third independent Quarter with independent entrance to the second floor of the tower structure itself through an exterior stairway. Over approximately 120 sq. meters, it comprises a monumental dining room with fireplace, kitchen, bedroom with bathroom-en-suite, plus a guest bathroom at the entry level (second floor of the Tower itself). On the second level (third floor of the Tower), there is an open space of ~50 square meters (~500 square feet) used as study, living room, bedroom or all of the above. From this level a stairway leads to the terrace of the Tower (fourth floor of the Tower), with absolutely astounding panoramic views of the Chianti-Florentine Hills.
LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) with meter. Hence your gas consumption may be monitored "by you" and will be billed at cost. This consumption is typically nominal/minimal for hot water heating and moderate for heating in the cooler winter months (we are talking about a Mediterranean winter season). No electric heaters allowed.
Water comes from two wells, fed by a spring water source within the property, up the hill, delivery powered by autoclave.
Mineral water is available free of charge 24/7 at a fountain in the Village - sparkling water at 0.15 EUR/liter!

Enjoy the property, buy cheeses, real Tuscan cold-cuts and breads not to mention local Chianti wines in the Coop store in the village or in nearby wineries - then sit in the greenhouse or in the dining room to enjoy a stunning view of natural grandiosity - Or try the East and South terraces for a Tuscan (home-made?) terrace dinner. The "famous" Coop store in the nearby Village, ~2 km away - parking available - staples, groceries, Tuscan prosciutto and cheeses, dairy, breads, good selection of wines, liquors, etc. - friendly staff. Two butcher shops in the Village (I much prefer the one in the Square) and a bakery with delicious breads, croissants and pizzas.
Beautiful hiking throughout the property and beyond. Tenuous hiking trails.
