Perfect location right on the beach. Great shelling and wonderful sunsets.

Kitchen cookware was lacking which was an issue because there are few places to eat on the island. The downstairs apartment was musty and full of bugs. The owner's golf cart broke down twice but was replaced by Club cart. Despite these drawbacks - we had a great time.

This was one of the BEST vacations I've experienced. Home was clean and had everything we needed for our week stay. Literally footsteps from the ocean.

Beautiful location directly on the beach

  • 4 of 5

The accommodation is in a superb location with direct access onto the beach, one of a few properties like this on the island. The upstairs of the accommodation contains two light and airy bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen/ lounge/ diner, all equipped to a very good standard. Access from the lounge is onto a terrace with fantastic views and sunsets to die for! What lets this down is the screens all need replacing as they are torn and so don't protect from insect bites, this includes the master bedroom. So although you could open the terrace doors to listen to the sounds of the waves during the night you risk being bitten by the mosquitos. One area that really lets this property down is that it is advertised as three bedrooms, the third one being on the lower deck, which also contains a small living area. This cannot be used as a third bedroom as a) it has no wardrobe space (the one located there is kept locked by the owners), b) it has no natural light as the one small window in the bedroom is blocked by the bed headboard, and c) it smells so musty as it is obviously not used very often, so most unpleasant and impossible to sleep in. As we travelled as three female friends we wanted a three bedroomed property but ended up having to share using the two upstairs rooms (I look forward to some feedback from the owners on this). The island itself is beautiful, we saw dolphins most days, and manatees on more than one occasion, lots of different sea birds and the odd tortoise slowing crossing the road which made this a magical place to be! Access around the island is via golf cart on little sandy roads so to get to the few restaurants / small shop is very easy and fun too! If you want to eat at The Boathouse I would suggest you book before you travel as we could not get in there during our six night stay.

For a week of relaxation, look no further!!!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! Just wow! This property was amazing. We stayed with one other couple and the property was perfectly sized for our group. There are two bedrooms upstairs and a suite in the basement. The furnishings were very nice and the kitchen definitely suited our needs. But, most importantly.... The view! We walked to beach in the morning and LongLook is definitely the best house we saw in terms of being RIGHT on the water. To wake up every morning to hearing the waves and being able to look out and see dolphins swimming by is our idea of a perfect vacation! We spent every day sitting in beach chairs directly out front of the house and didn't even get some to utilizing the pools or other amenities offered. The golf cart provided works perfectly! A few tips we can offer to anyone that rents this beautiful house... Be prepared for a relaxing vacation. How ever many beers you think you need, double it, or maybe triple it. Don't forget anything at the grocery store, because the island store prices are pretty hefty ($19 for a 12 pack of Bud Light). Bring cooking spray, because the pots and pans provided are very nice but are not non-stick. Hope you enjoy the stay as much as we did and thank you to the owners for opening up their home to let others enjoy it!

Nice House, Great Location, Wonderful Island

  • 4 of 5

The house fit our family just right and was cozy but clean and comfortable. Beach was great and relatively private. 3rd bedroom (queen) was detached (separate entrance on ground level) which we didn't expect, but worked well for Grandma and Grandpa.

We spent a week on the island, celebrating birthdays! It was wonderful. A great place to get away to relax and unwind. Of all the beautiful homes on the island I honestly felt like we picked the best one. The location is perfect for watching the sunset every night and being on the beach was ideal for our group of 6 adults. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably, kitchen was equipped perfectly and bathrooms were nice. We fished off the beach and caught several fish and even had dolphins come close enough to clearly see. If your looking for a great beach vacation and a clean comfortable place to sleep, this property is the best! We hope to return again in the future!
