Country Liv Inn is a very private country home nestled in 'God's Country' just 8 miles north of Lanesboro, MN. . This renovated farmhouse is owned and operated by four siblings who grew up at the homestead that was once known as 'Eide's Dairy', as you will notice on the nearby barn. The farm has been in the family for 5 generations and is near and dear to us. Restoring our family home and now sharing it with you is our ultimate desire.
The serenity and simplicity of this cozy home is extended as one enjoys the outdoors of this farm setting. The patio includes outdoor seating and wood or charcoal grilling. The 3-acre spacious yard has a fire pit and plenty of room for yard games and camping.
In the spring of 2016, my sister, my dad, and I stayed at Country Liv-Inn. At the time, Dad was undergoing treatment at the Mayo Clinic in nearby Rochester and had completed nearly 20 rounds of chemo. An Iowa rancher and lifelong country dweller, our dad was ready to leave the city and stay someplace that felt more like home. Country Liv-Inn was just the retreat we needed.
Upon entering the neat farmhouse, my sister and I remarked on how similar the place was to the Iowa home we grew up in. The first night we were there, we surprised our dad with old photo albums filled with back-and-white images of our farming ancestors. We gathered around the kitchen table at Country Liv-Inn and studied the albums. We lost ourselves in stories and memories of family and home. That was some healing medicine!
Unfortunate circumstances brought us to Country Liv-Inn’s doorstep, but the good fortune of comforting surroundings and the kindnesses Gayle, the property’s keeper, were such blessings. Gayle, we know your own dad would be proud of the work you and your siblings have done to preserve your home place. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Nothing upscale but the view and the silence. You don't need those luxuries here, anyway, but that is the missing 5th star (bed was fine, not luxury hotel fabulous, pots and pans worked great, nothing shiny and new.) Clean and comfortable, stocked with what you need to cook, eat, sleep, and get cleaned up after a day outdoors. Stunning views of farmland from the lovely new deck. Gravel road and drive and a long enough setback to let kids play in the large gently-sloped grass yard. No neighbors that you can see or hear, and very little traffic. Provided Internet was enough to stream Netflix on one device. At least 8 miles to a store, and that store will be small. No Verizon or T-Mobile phone service, which we did not notice in the listing. Excellent, fast, accurate owner communication--my preference was all email and text, so that's what we did. It was perfect for us, and we would return in a heartbeat.
This is my second visit and even better than an excellent first. It is so quiet, I was able to combine classical music and morning bird sounds making a movie from the deck. Lots of bird and wildlife pictures to do here and in the area. The house is very comfortable and plenty of room. The kitchen took care of all my needs and it's great to have a full bath on both floors if you need it. Lanesboro has a great theater and the plays were very good. Shopping, music festival and antique cars were fun for passing the time and camera work. Great for family visiting. Still too much to do in a week or two. The area has a lot to offer and Wisconsin is nearby with even more to offer with spring events. Especially good for seniors, there is a lot to do for all age ranges. The hosting family is not on the property and are great about making sure you are comfortable. Great for uninterrupted sleep !
A quiet, cozy and comfortable get-a-away. Home is clean and charming - great kitchen and beautiful deck. Love the family history and the cows in the pasture were a bonus!
Every year 5 of us college friends get together for a weekend. This was our 35th year! We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend at your home. It was so quiet and peaceful. The view was lovely from the deck where we all enjoyed happy hour after spending time in Lanesboro. We also enjoyed a bonfire one evening. The accommodations were clean, homey, comfortable and worked well for 5 girls. We were each in charge of a meal so the kitchen facilities were great! It was nice not to have to go out to eat, dress up. Thank you for a truly nice time and good memories!
I with my twin sister , my mom and aunt, along with my small dog really enjoyed this farm house. I and my sister who have very busy lives was nice to get away and destress. This home is truely filled with lots of laughter and fun. Equally my dog loved to run outside in the yard and enjoyed the wide open spaces. We took drives around to the small towns and enjoyed the beautiful countryside. Thank you for this wonderful stay Gayle we really enjoyed our time. We will be back. I will be back I want to enjoy some of those beautiful biking trails.
