About the property

Idyllic location! Private beach! No bank waterfront!

*Welcome to the Antler's Cottage*

**Your ticket to waterfront heaven!**

This is it! Right off of golden pond! This cozy, lodge theme cabin is located in the most desirable development and on one of the finest no bank waterfront properties Lake Cushman has to offer, it is truly in an idyllic setting.

This squeaky clean hide-a-way is dripping with charm and has all the modern amenities but still retains the flavor of that bygone era. The well stocked kitchen has just been upgraded with new appliances and other features. The living room has a double pull out sofa and cozy fireplace for that special evening. There are lake and mountain views from the kitchen, living room and front deck which includes a propane barbecue and table for those savory sunset dinners!

There are three bedrooms. The master has a king size bed; the two smaller bedrooms each have a twin.

It gets better! The water is mere steps away. This is premium, no bank waterfront. Your own PRIVATE beach, dock and firepit on water's edge. This is a gravel, gradual beach for great swimming and wading. The float is great for mooring your watercraft or just sunbathing. Hop in the canoe for a shoreline excursion to the local park or waterfall; you can even launch a small boat from this property. The views from the dock are majestic. Mountains, forests and crystal clear water. In the mountain night sky the moon and stars dance overhead!

The recreation opportunites at your doorstep are amazing. Olympic National Park, Staircase, Mt. Rose and Mt. Ellinor. Hiking, fishing, golfing, boating.

Your host is the author of 'The Early Settlement of Lake Cushman'. The book is there for you to read, along with dozens of rare, circa 1900 framed historic photographs showcasing the grand era of the lake adorning the cabin walls and beckoning you back to a simpler time. Time seems to stand still here, so tranquil and serene. Experience beautiful Lake Cushman, both past and present. Step out of the rat race and step back in time.

-- We cherish our cabin -- You will too!! -- --New for fall 2014 - ductless heat pump and a/c unit installed for your comfort and convenience--

Authentic Lake Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This was the third (and final) leg of our trip to the Pacific Northwest and proved to be the perfect place after visiting the bigger cities of Seattle and Victoria, BC. A couple things really stood out for us at this location. One, the owner is outstanding...a genuinely friendly guy who has ample local information and was open to answering questions or offering suggestions prior to our trip. Secondly, this cabin is an authentic and charming lake experience from the pictures on the wall to the canoe and the history surrounding the area. Exactly what we wanted to experience with our family. We've rented mountain homes before and really were impressed with how tidy the place is. Not seeing indoor insects or spiders and webs is pretty impressive when you're living in nature! Our two boys spent every waking moment canoeing and jumping off the dock while we relaxed in the shade on the deck. The Hoodsport IGA has everything you need for BBQ on the deck and cocktail hour. Also, we hail from a much warmer area in the summer but were pleased to have the air conditioner when needed during our visit in August. If you're looking for a place to unwind and play games (there are several board games and cards provided) or escape tv and electronics, this property is the answer. Thank you, Larry.

Gorgeous Location, Great Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My fiancé and I got married on the Hood Canal and stayed in this cabin for our wedding. Lake Cushman is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been and I was amazed at how quiet and peaceful it was even during a busy summer weekend. The cabin has everything you need for your stay, the bathroom has been recently re-done and the shower is great! Loved cooking in the kitchen with the lake in view. Our absolute favorite was the big deck overlooking the lake and the private dock. We are already booking for next summer and maybe this fall!

Cushman treasure

  • 5 of 5

We lived on Lake Cushman years ago and loved our visit. The cabin has an excellent getaway by the lake feel. It is well supplied, especially the kitchen. The dock was perfect for a small motor boat and the canoe was very fun to paddle. Our location to Staircase and the Olympics couldn't be beat. We had fun doing our favorite hikes and being out on the water. We look forward to staying again next year!

Perfect spot for our couples getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Next time we are back we will definitely be bringing the kids! The cabin was just as described. It is clean, comfortable and on the most beautiful spot on the lake. They had everything we could possibly need in the kitchen for meals and they provided an abundance of paper goods which was a nice surprise. We spent most of the time on the dock and in the water which had sun for the majority of the day. The water was at a perfect level to stand to your waist and talk to everyone that is not in the water with you. The paddle boat was broken, but both couples went out in the canoe. Larry-the owner was extremely responsive and helpful through our booking process and the stay. He even made a special trip up before we arrived to install a TV so we could watch the newly released DVD about the dive to the historic Antlers Hotel that is now underwater directly across the lake from the cabin. He is very knowledgeable about the area and we loved learning the history of Lake Cushman settlement. He has a great book available that he wrote and the house is filled with historical photos. It had so much character and all the comforts of home. My ONLY suggestion would be to provide an umbrella for the table on the dock. It does get really hot down there and would have liked a way to get a little shade without leaving the waters edge. There may have been one on-site, but we could not locate. Thank you again for a wonderful stay! We will definitely return. We drove from the Kingston area and stopped at Hamma Hamma Oysters on the way in and out of town. It was the best!

The Antlers Cottage is a great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I come to Lake Cushman A LOT! In the winter, it's quiet (which is what we were going for) and in the summer it's recreation paradise. First, the owners (Larry) is super nice and very easy to work with, and is very knowledgeable of the area. Me being a fan of the area and history in general found this great, as Larry has a history book on the Lake/Hoodsport area. If you rent in the winter, you're going to have more time to enjoy the cabin, which is decked-out in historical pics and rustic lodge themed items. We hung out, drank wine, played board games while listening to the radio. We drank Coffee on the dock in the morning; it doesn't get any better for a winter getaway. Hoodsport wine company has some great stuff; check them out as well! For the summer, you're going to swim (the cottage is lakefront) and probably hike (there are several great day hikes; Copper Creek, Mt. Rose trail, staircase loop, Wagonwheel Lake), and Staircase itself is a great portal to the Olympics interior. The division is private, so you won't be dealing with rowdies in the summer. You cannot go wrong with renting the Antlers Cottage! Thank you Larry!

It Doesn't Get Any Better!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at the Antler's Cottage a number of times, and are in the process of booking it for Thanksgiving weekend. Lake Cushman is absolutely beautiful, and so is this cottage. It's comfortable, cozy and clean, and is well stocked with anything you might need while there. It has an amazing view of Lake Cushman, and is located close to numerous hiking opportunities including Staircase (which is one of the more popular hikes in the area).

The owner's of this place are great folks - I've talked with Larry who is super friendly and incredibly helpful. :-)

What else can I say? It's really the perfect place for family fun or a romantic getaway. And the price just simply can't be beat. Thanks Larry for sharing your place with us!
