About Lynn Rawcliffe

I have been letting holiday cottages in the lakes since 2004 and offer luxury holiday accommodation. I am very keen to ensure that all my guests in all my cottages are always very well satisfied and depart the cottages having had a marvelous holiday. I decided quite early on to offer accommodation which allows guests to bring their dogs whilst still enjoying luxurious surrounding, I am a dog owner myself and always found it difficult to find good quality holiday lets that also allow dogs. I am very proud of the fact that I have managed to combine both.

Lynn Rawcliffe purchased this house in 2007

Why Lynn Rawcliffe chose Kendal & South Lakes

The Haven is a very special property, it took me a full year to renovate and enlarge to add on a spacious extension and conservatory which now capture the magnificent views, which no matter what time of year it is, always remain spectacular. The house is modern with open plan living, which has proven to be successful when occupied by large groups or families. I always prefer to meet and greet guests to offer that personal touch and to offer ideas of where to go in the surrounding area, as Newby bridge has a lot to offer.

What makes this house unique

As previously mentioned, the views from every window are very special, the walks and the fact that fell foot park is right next door and can be accessed via the field and which runs by the river. the garden is great for entertaining and the fire pit at the bottom of the garden is always a hit with guests. there is also a spacious hot tub which is available to guests all year round..

Fantastic holiday in Fantastic luxury!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here from 9/6/17 till 16/6/17 for a family holiday. There was 9 of us in total including my 12 month old granddaughter. We had a fab stay! Bedrooms all very comfortable and bathrooms beautiful. We spent most of our time in the garden and in the sun room. Lots of space so no one gets on top of each other if there's alot of people. We all really enjoyed our stay and would book this house again in a heartbeat. Having a washing machine and tumble dryer to hand is also a huge plus when you have little ones with you. The hot tub is a massive plus to relax in. All in all we had a fab time and would recommend this house 100%.

Lovely place to stay however...

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful place to stay lovely decor and well furnished. Great garden and hot tub. Had problem with the hot water but was soon fixed by Lynn who got a man in. Loads of space to roam around, lovely open plan kitchen which was great when cooking and being able to speak to the family at the same time. Just a few snagging issues that stopped us scoring a 5 star. Toy box needs a sort out not great when trying to tell your granddaughter you don't know where the missing jigsaw piece is! Tourist leaflets are way out of date, we tried to visit a soft play area from a leaflet but when we got there it had been closed or a year ! Found it very hard to work the DVD in the conservatory even with the instructions looked like a connection was missing. But didn't really matter just disappointing for the children. Outside patio cushions were weather proof but some had green algae along the seams just a few points that could easily be sorted. On the whole a great place to stay

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review and feedback. I used to sort out the toy basket however since I have only a few hours to clean the house on changeover day it was proving too difficult and my priority is the cleaning. Therefore I have to rely on guests putting the games back in the correct places, which for some reason they rarely do, when I get a gap in bookings I do empty the basket out and re organise it, sorry the jigsaw had missing pieces. I wasn't aware about the leaflets as I do throw out the old but I must of missed some. The cushions outside do get cleaned if the weather permits however there are changeover days when it's raining that hard it becomes a pointless exercise. Again when there's a gap in bookings they are taken off and properly washed. Glad you enjoyed your stay though and thanks again for taking the time to write a review.

Heavenly Haven

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a lovely week staying at The Haven, we celebrated a wedding during our stay, travelling up to Gretna for the day! The property has the most wonderful location, and we enjoyed walks into Newby Bridge, the steam train to Lakeside and locally hired rowing boats. We were a group of 10 and had plenty of room, the children (and adults) enjoying the hot tub, garden and bbq. Thank you very much for such a lovely stay and giving us all very special memories of a truly amazing week.

Amazing stay at the Haven

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 8 ladies going away for a mini break. The house is exactly as the pictures, if not better!! We went to fell foot (via the back gate) and had great fun on the lake. Lynne was lovely to deal with and always came back very quickly with any responses. Thanks and I'm sure we'll be back soon!

Stunning property in a serene location

  • 5 of 5

10 of us visited The Haven to celebrate my 40th Birthday. Booking was easy and stressfree. Lynn always promptly responded to emails during both the booking process and during our stay.

The location was stunning with Newby Bridge within walking distance and Cartmel and the touristy Bowness a short drive away.

Clean and decorated to a very high standard we loved our stay and would highly recommend both Lynn and the property.

Thanks again Lynn!
