About Lynn Rawcliffe

I have been letting holiday cottages in the lakes since 2004 and offer luxury holiday accommodation. I am very keen to ensure that all my guests in all my cottages are always very well satisfied and depart the cottages having had a marvelous holiday. I decided quite early on to offer accommodation which allows guests to bring their dogs whilst still enjoying luxurious surrounding, I am a dog owner myself and always found it difficult to find good quality holiday lets that also allow dogs. I am very proud of the fact that I have managed to combine both.

Lynn Rawcliffe purchased this house in 2007

Why Lynn Rawcliffe chose Kendal & South Lakes

The Haven is a very special property, it took me a full year to renovate and enlarge to add on a spacious extension and conservatory which now capture the magnificent views, which no matter what time of year it is, always remain spectacular. The house is modern with open plan living, which has proven to be successful when occupied by large groups or families. I always prefer to meet and greet guests to offer that personal touch and to offer ideas of where to go in the surrounding area, as Newby bridge has a lot to offer.

What makes this house unique

As previously mentioned, the views from every window are very special, the walks and the fact that fell foot park is right next door and can be accessed via the field and which runs by the river. the garden is great for entertaining and the fire pit at the bottom of the garden is always a hit with guests. there is also a spacious hot tub which is available to guests all year round..

Wonderful family weekend

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous house, well equipped and wonderfully spacious. Perfect for our needs, family get together 6 adults 2 children. Lovely walk to Fell Foot park out the gate in garden. Plenty of outdoor furniture & hot tub was great. Lynn was there when we arrived, very useful guided tour, prompt help with one query we had during our stay & was there for our check out. Same day return of breakage deposit, not sure how it could be any better. Would love to return.

Beautiful holiday home

A wonderful home, perfect for large families. The house was in lovely clean condition, just like the photos. Lynn was prompt to respond to any queries leading up to the stay and showed us around on our arrival.

Great house for large groups

  • 4 of 5

Ten of us stayed 3 nights and had a great time. Communication with Lynn was very smooth and the full breakages deposit refunded on the day we checked out. Although the house is right next to a fairly noisy, fast road, the traffic was barely audible once inside or when sitting at the back of the house. We really enjoyed making use of the hot tub. Our only slight disappointments were that (1) we couldn't use the BBQ as it hadn't been cleaned by the previous guests which is a requirement and we didn't have the appropriate products to do this ourselves. (2) we couldn't use the bath tub in the Master Suite as the tap wasn't working. All in all we would recommend The Haven.

Superb, would stay again!

  • 5 of 5

Finding somewhere to stay when you have three toddlers in your group is always a challenge but it is safe to say that everyone in our party had a great stay at the Haven. The little ones loved running around and playing in the garden, and the house offers ample space for them to play inside when the Lake District weather sends them running in from outside.

All the bedrooms are very good and the numerous bathrooms meant we were never on top of each other at any point, even with six adults, three little ones and two babies in the house!

The hot-tub is more than big enough for everyone and was clean and ready to use.

We would definitely recommend the Haven for families or groups of families and we would definitely look to stay again should the opportunity arise.

Great for a large group

  • 5 of 5

We are a group of young graduates who came to the Haven for a reunion. The house was perfect for us - big enough that we were not on top of each other and with great spaces for socializing together. Everything was as expected - the photos are pretty accurate (although I think some of the furniture has moved/changed since they were taken). The location is also very good, in short driving distance from hiking (we did Scafell Pike) and other activities and a walk to a cute park where we went boating. Lynn was easy to communicate with and fast to resolve an issue we had with the hot tub. We would definitely recommend the Haven!

Great Place, Booking facility lousy.

  • 3 of 5

We had a great weeks stay at this place. Lives up to its pictures.

Delightful, luxury home. Took ten adults with ease.

BUT - amazed that they would not take credit card booking. Demanded bank transfer which is very hard to arrange from New Zealand and Lynne was Not helpful. 4 emails later I got enough details of their bank to transfer the money.

Rebate of Bond has been non-existent however despite MANY emails. Just no reply. If I lived in England I would take legal action but just too hard from the other side of the world.
