Beautiful townhouse in Gold resort of Praia d'El Rey, Portugal's top gold resort. The house is situated in a closed gated condominium with 3 large heated pools and children pool. The golf driving range is 3 minutes walk away.

The house has 3 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms in 2 + a 3rd bathroom in the hall. Kitchen is fully equipped with all modern appliances and there is a nice garden at the back with built in barbecue. The resort has children' play grounds, tennis courts and mini-golf. There is a 5-star Marriott hotel in the resort with spa, health club, indoor and outdoor pools and very good restaurants. Baby-sitting services are available.

The resort is on one of Portugal's most beautiful and is situated on a dramatic Atlantic coastline.

20 minutes drive from Praia d'El Rey is the medieval town of Obidos, still completely walled and the best preserved in Europe. Lisboa and the airport are 50 minutes drive by car and you can use the area as a base for a 2 day trip to the gorgeous Duro valley and Porto.

About Ulf & Ilse Larsen

Owned by Ilse Hillewaert (Belgian) and Ulf Larsen (Norway). We currently live in Belgium, having lived in various parts of Europe, including a long stint in the UK, and Africa in the past 20 years. We have a 7 year old daughter who loves visiting our property in Praia d'El Rey.

Why Ulf & Ilse Larsen chose Obidos

We bought the townhouse in Vila dos Principes for several reasons. We love the Silver Coast, the beaches, the forests and the Atlantic climate. Also, the VdP condominium is an oasis with the benefits of being set in a bigger resort. Being less than 1 hour's drive from Lisbon airport and close to the towns of Obidos and Peniche are additional benefits.

What makes this house unique

With VdP set within the golf course and with a 10-15 minutes' walk to the beach we really love spending time there. The fact that it's a minute or two to walk to one of the 3 swimming pools is awesome for our daughter and any friends visiting.

Notes:
The house is in a 5 star resort with ia Marriott hotel that has indoor pool, fitness and excellent Spa facilities. It has 4 dining options from buffet to formal dinner, and from the terrace bar you can see the spectacular beach or see the sun set on the Atlantic ain the evening. There are also 7 tennis courts at the Tennis Academy where you can rent rackets if needed and tennis coaches are available. There is an 'adventure club' during the summer season, offering biking, canoeing, games and excursions.

Nous avons été très satisfait de notre séjour, la maison est très spacieuse, confortable et propre, le golf resort est beau et agréable, le quartier est calme et reposant. De plus nous avons eu tout ce qu'il faut pour notre bébé, à savoir une chaise haute et un lit pliant très pratique.

Nous recommandons cette location pour tous séjours en famille ou entre amis, à refaire!

Great retreat in wonderful setting, but a drive away from the beach

We loved the house and the condominium, both very comfortable and well appointed. It was very calm and there was lots of green and nice flowers. It was particularly nice for the children, especially the green areas and the pools! It was also useful to have the club house a couple of minutes walking from the area of the house, as they do take out. the greatest downside is the distance to the beach, which is much more than 500m; its more like 1.5km from the condo to the beach. So, you need to drive, which we originally thought we would not be doing. In fact, the exact location of the house does not match what appears in the homeaway map. Other than the distance to the beach, we loved our stay and would very much recommend the house.

The house is located in Praia d'El Rey, one of Europe's to golf resorts, regularly voted one of Portugal's best; with additional courses nearby. The coast line is dramatic and beautiful and known for surfing. Surf boards can be rented anywhere around Peniche (15 minutes drive). For those with small children, the Lagoa de Obidos is close by and has nice beaches and calmer water.

20 minutes away is the beautiful town of Obidos, one of the last completely walled medieval towns in Europe.

Lisboa is 50 minutes (airport) to 1 hour's (town) drive away and is the medieval city of Sintra with it's beautiful castles is 45 minutes away.
