We are native Montanans, Joe is a CPA, I am a retired Insurance Agency owner. We have invested in farms & ranches for the past 20+ years. Between us we have 8 children, ages 17 to 37....

Why Melanie Vankoten- Eve chose Angel Point

Both Montanan natives, we moved from the eastern side of the state to the Valley many years ago. Living in Whitefish & Rollins before settling in Lakeside, we decided Flathead Lake is our favorite place to be summer or winter. The views are amazing in any season, the lake an ever-changing tapestry with wind, snow & ice, sunshine & blue skies, fog, rain, sunrises & sunsets. We are on the lake for summer fun but also close to ski areas in the winter....

What makes this cabin unique

WOW! Montana at its finest! The Flathead Lake is amazing area .... whatever the season, the views change daily! Central location for you to base from while you enjoy your summer/fall/winter vacation plans.

Summer fun in Glacier country

  • 4 of 5

Just got back from a marvelous stay at Flathead Lake. Mel and Joe were great hosts, assisting us with various things, and even providing a great welcoming basket of goodies for us to enjoy! The location is pristine, and in the best spot on the entire lake. Town of Lakeside is full of friendly, helpful, and modest people. No elitism here. Just hard working people trying to assure your pleasure, while visiting this piece of heaven. Hiked Glacier National, a short 45 minutes away, and saw the beautiful town of Whitefish, and Kalispell. Whitefish lake is a must also, and can be reached in 30 minutes from the cabin. Tamarak Brewery in town is great. We purchased a growler and filled it with a fresh new brew every couple of days. Pulled our boat to Flathead, and the dock and facilities at this cabin are wonderful with great mooring, dock lights, and great ladder to lake providing for wonderful late afternoon swims. Can't imagine going a year without returning to this special place. Oh, and buy the way, returned with over 25 pounds of Mackinaw fillets in the cooler. What fun!

See you all next year........

Beautiful little cabin on my the leeward side of Flathead Lake!

  • 4 of 5

Cozy little place with a beautiful view of the lake. Owners left us a nice bottle of wine along with some snacks. Very nice. But don't be surprised if a 100+lb German Shepherd comes to keep an eye on you. He was a nice dog- no worries, but left lots of land mines to step into.

Nice little wood burning stove kept the place plenty warm through the cold temps outside. Thanks for a great weekend.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your beautiful Fall weekend. Our German Shepherd, Matador, is our official greeter, and when you were asking on the cabin's woodstove, I wish you would have mentioned the "land mines". We are in the midst of our hectic Fall schedule, but always take pride in the inside and outside of our properties, and, had we been aware, certainly would have taken care of for you. We would love to have you as one of our returning guests!

Beautiful view of Flathead Lake and close to Glacier National Park & Whitefish!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Melanie's Angel Point cabin during our honeymoon and loved it! The cabin is located right on beautiful Flathead Lake and has all the toys (canoe, kayaks and paddle boards) that you would need to enjoy it. The cabin was super clean, the bed comfortable, and Melanie was nice enough to leave a bottle of champagne, some huckleberry treats, and coffee for us when we arrived. We made changes to our reservation which Melanie was more than patient with and helped adjust the reservation in VRBOs system. Overall great experience and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful setting to get away from the busy world.

  • 4 of 5

Loved the cabin. It was so comfortable and cozy. Everything you need was included. The gift basket was a great touch. The canoe and kayaks were fun to use and the dock and scenery all around the lake was amazing. It was very peaceful with no tv and no wifi in the cabin. It was a great way to unwind and unplug. We loved our stay and will be back!

Owner's Response: We are pleased you had such an enjoyable time! Please note - while there is WIFI in the cabin, it is spotty in our area (even in our main home on the lot next door!). Sometimes there is excellent reception, other times a signal may need to be found out doors. With only one provider in this area at this time, we are quite limited....And we would love to have you back any time - we have several repeat guests every year!

Can't wait to come back!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I rented this cabin for a mother-daughter birthday weekend. We had an amazing time and everything was what we wanted it to be. The bed was so comfortable, the shower was good, the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved having the paddle boards available and the water was very swimable. There were plenty of beach towels so no need to bring your own. We had coffee on our private dock each morning. It was an easy drive to Bigfork for nice dinners and shopping. If you didn't bring your food, the grocery store in Lakeside is just up the road. We enjoyed Matador, the German Shepherd. He popped up to say hello every now and then and made us smile and laugh. We made some great memories and went home feeling rested and relaxed. Now I can't wait to bring my husband here!

Charming log cabin on one of the best locations of Flathead Lake

  • 4 of 5

Angel Point is truly one of the nicest locations on the lake. The shore is pebbles so you can wade in to swim, the water is clean and deep enough to jump off the dock. It was a real bonus to have the kayaks and paddle boards there to use. The path from the cabin to the lake is easy for most to walk. The cabin is a quality structure and stayed cool even in the heat of the day. We found it very clean and well-maintained. The king-sized bed was comfortable and the kitchen had most everything you need for a short stay.

The only suggestions that came to my mind during our stay was that it would be great if a few small trees were cleared out in front of the lake view side of the cabin, or at the least limb some of the trees. It has a huge potential for a stunning view. Also, the interior of the cabin is a bit dark so a big plus would be a better living room lamp to read by and/or just more lights in the main room.

All in all very nice and relaxing!
