Excellent spacious family friendly home
We had a fantastic stay and really appreciated all the toys, pool inflatables and facilities for baby. The electric blackout blinds at the front are brilliant too! We made full use of all the seating areas outside, to catch both the sun and shade, and the artificial grass is a good idea for little ones to roam around. Our baby loved the sandpit, and we were relieved that the highchair is the wonderfully simple Ikea one we have at home! The house was very clean and Sarah is a helpful and friendly host.
It's a lovely safe feeling area in a gated community and the house is so nice and spacious even with us 5 adults and baby! The village area is nice, with a decent if quite expensive supermarket in the village, and some places to buy local wine. There are loads of super sweet blackberry bushes in the lane just outside the house, and even a couple of almond trees- so we really ate locally!
We were really lucky to arrive the weekend of the local village festival, where they had live 'typical' French music, a bar and yummy looking food, boules competitions and a little funfair for the children.
I'ts well located, with beautiful countryside (if very windy roads), and we extended our visit with a night in Narbonne and 2 nights in Carcassonne-both highly recommended and only 45 minutes away. Go to the Hotel de la Cite in Carcassonne- if, like us, you can't afford the pricey rooms you can get a taste of luxury by having a civilised drink in their opulent gardens - so tranquil and green!
We also enjoyed a day at Leucate Plage and a fantastically preserved castle at nearby Villerouge-Termenès a very picturesque village.
We had a wonderful holiday and would definitely return to both the area and this property in the future!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I'm so glad you all enjoyed your stay at Villa Wisteria. We do our best to make the whole experience very child friendly so that the adults can spend more time relaxing and enjoying the surrounds. I look forward to welcoming you back again in the future!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
The villa was absolutely beautiful and so thoughtfully furnished. We had all we needed for our little ones and can only thank you for a wonderful holiday.
The villa and the pool were spotless and we have absolutely no complaints here. Everything was clean and tidy and Jeanne and Dave were wonderful! They were so very helpful and kind and 'on call' for any questions. Our thanks also go to Jeanne who organized a small essential shop for us. They are wonderful people and really looked after us and the villa.
The villa itself had absolutely everything we needed - we didn't have to bring anything! Our kids (1 and 3) had a brilliant time and were safe at all times. The house is very beautifully located and we enjoyed our time here.
We would also like to thank you, Cora, for the easy and pleasant booking part of the holiday. All went so smooth and without any trouble and we are happy to recommend your villa to everyone we know :).
Great villa for families with young children
We stayed in Villa Wisteria in May 2012 and had a great time. The villa was spotless and really well laid out, with a lovely large living space and good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. It was perfect for us (2 families each with one toddler) as the villa was extremely well kitted out for young children - cots, high chairs, cutlery, toys - and all one one level with fences around the pool and the property boundary, so it was completely safe for the little ones to roam around. They loved it!
The pool was a bit small, but fine for the babies to splash around in, but more of a plunge pool for adults rather than one you can swim properly in. The village was a 5 minute walk away, and provided the basics. Other attractions are a car ride away, from 30 mins upwards.
Overall it was a great holiday in a relaxing spot. There are other villas in the same area (gated), but no disturbance at all from them.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review, it is much appreciated. Glad you all enjoyed your stay at Villa Wisteria and great to hear that the kids loved it! We aim to satisfy the needs of parents with children so that you get a chance to relax while they are kept occupied in a safe environment. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future!

The villa is spacious, clean, well equipped and beautifully situated. Located in the French countryside it is within easy reach of beaches, the magnificent Carcassonne, towns for shopping and only a half a day's drive from Barcelona. There was plenty to occupy all the family. We would certainly recommend Villa Wisteria as a holiday destination and will be returning ourselves.
