This quiet light bright two double bedroom property is located on the lower ground floor of a Victorian conversion.

The apartment consists of a comfortable spacious living room with feature skylights, MODERISED kitchen with integrated appliances including dishwasher, washing machine, clothes-dryer, microwave, fridge oven & ceramic hob, toaster, kettle, cutlery, central heating etc.

There is also a TV and DVD player with miscellaneous CDs and DVDS as well as its own book collection, so you can curl up with a novel on cosy sofas after a day’s sight-seeing.

*The rental price is inclusive of all electricity and heating charges, council tax, towels, sheets and linen and also staples in the kitchen (tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper)*

Indeed this inclusive rate is unusual for a London apartment as most charge extra for taxes etc.

There are two compact double bedrooms with comfortable double beds. The wet room is new and it's fantastic!

The second bedroom is the bedroom I was using when the photographer came (hence slightly creased bedclothes!!) It also has a small TV in this bedroom.

This room has a door leading to outside space. The outside space is small, but very useful for laundry purposes.

Bookings may begin on the afternoon of the departure date of a previous guest. However, if you have bags, you are welcome to drop them off earlier while the flat is being cleaned.

Access from Heathrow Airport couldn't be easier; take the tube directly to Gloucester Road on the Piccadilly Line, with no changes required. Takes about forty minutes. From Gatwick, the Gatwick Express leaves every fifteen minutes to Victoria station which is fifteen minutes away by cab to the flat or 3 straight tube stops to Gloucester Rd tube.

Or we have a driver who will pick you up from Heathrow. His charges are:- £48 pick up from any terminal. £38 to drop off.

Location can not be beaten (check my reviews) with just a few minutes walking distance to Natural History Museum, V&A or catch a concert at the Albert Hall home to the Proms, the world’s great classical music festival.

Most important is the closeness to the tube with West-end theaters 15 mins tube ride. It's only a 5 minute walk to Hyde Park as well as Kensington High St.

I must stress that when staying in London, location, location and location is of the utmost importance and having 3 central tube lines will get you anywhere you need to get to in London without having to change lines.

Knightsbridge is close by with the famous Harrods, it's only a 5 minutes walk to Gloucester Rd tube.

The 49 bus (3 mins walk from the flat) takes you to the new billion pound shopping complex Westfield, passing Kensington High St on the way.

There are many international restaurants and bars in the area. Quality shopping at Waitrose and nearby Sainsburys supermarkets.

Check in 4pm - checkout 10am.

We will be on hand to meet and show you how everything works in the apartment. We will happily answer your questions and fulfil you requests in any way we can and can also hire you a car and driver to take you to and from the airport if required.

Our property manager, David lives in London and he will share his knowledge with you.

About Julie

I live in N. Ireland with my husband and have been letting property since 1976. I lived in London before I married so it's always a good excuse to come back when reletting the apartment.

I have twin girls of 31 - Claire is married and teaches A level maths. Kate is also married and is a primary school teacher. Prior to this she pioneered a charity in Uganda for the last 5 years sponsoring street children called Tomorow's Heros now renamed Freedom Heroes.

Why Julie chose Kensington

I love this property because of the location as it is just so close to everything and has a real buzz to the area.

It feels very light and airy.

I also still have friends in this area.

What makes this apartment unique

It is much quieter than most London flats as it's a rear lower ground floor flat and not underneath the building. That is why it's so light because it is not in the basement as such. This can be seen in the photos.

Gorgeous rooms, elegant and convenient location

The apartment is perfectly located, across from a private park, and far from the noise of the busy streets nearby. Gloucester Road underground and Waitrose are 5 minutes away. The two bedrooms, very large living room, and remodeled bathroom are ideal for our purposes and we hope to return frequently.

We loved the flat!

Thanks to Julie and David for the awesome stay in this lovely, cozy flat. We had everything we needed with the added bonus of driver Raza for airport pickup. The flat could not be more perfectly located! We found many delightful restaurants a short 5 minute walk away, as well as interesting shops and several museums, all easily walkable from the flat. The South Kensington tube station was convenient for more distant adventures. We really loved the area and felt very safe walking the streets at any hour. I hope to return to London and will definitely seek out this South Kensington flat if at all possible!

very good home base for sightseeing

We stayed there for four days in late october 2017 (coming from Germany).

The flat manager expected us as agreed on, showed us everything to know.

The area is very nice and quiet.

It's a basement flat, but all rooms have skylights that make it bright.

You can't darken the skylights for sleeping, which wasn't a problem for us at late october.

I would say one bed is a double and the other one is a king size (UK).

All devvices and the whole equipment worked fine.

There is a second flat at the basement which is to rent as well. So your neighbours will change too. We didn't hear anything from upstairs.

The flat is located very close the tube station Gloucester Road (Piccadilly, Circle, District lines). Around the station you can find many places to eat and two supermarkets (a Waitrose and a small Tesco) open until 10 p.m.

Julie is a very friendly landlord and answers all your questions.

Lovely apartment in really good location

We really liked this apartment. Check in easy and efficient, David explained everything we needed to know. Well equipped but a couple of things need replacing (microwave hit and miss), fridge door has no compartments so had to put everything in main part.

Would stay here again, if in London and recommend it.

Comfortable apartment in an excellent location

Nicely equipped and very comfortable apartment. We were 2 women visiting in late August. Julie (owner) kept in touch during our entire stay and quickly responded to any questions we may have had. Gloucester road station very close and convenient. However note that if you have heavy luggage the station is not step free. We used Earl's Court station instead on arrival and departure. Taxi from Earl's Court station to the apartment was just under 5 pounds. As 2 women traveling and sometimes arriving back at the apt late in the evening, we felt safe walking from the Gloucester station to the apartment. Waitrose market is steps from the tube. It's only one stop to High Street Kensington with lots of restaurants and shops (including a large Whole Foods). Very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to the apartment if it is available on my next stay in London. Thank you Julie!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great and informative review. However you can get to Kensington High St by 49 bus (which also covers the Oyster card). Bus stop turn right on Gloucester Rd about a 3 minute walk. You can also walk there in 10 minutes by turning right outside the flat, there's a small road at the end of Cornwall Gds on right before going round to other side of square. Walk straight (with a few curves) and you're on Ken High St. You can wait ages for a tube to Ken High St as it's not on a good tube line.

Excellent location!

We stayed for 10 nights at Julie's flat in South Kensington and were very comfortable here. Julie was fantastic in responding quickly to all emails/questions from the very start to the end of our stay. Yasmin met us to do the flat check-in and we also used Julie's contact for an airport transfer at the end of our stay - both were very friendly and on time. The location is fantastic with a 5-10 minute walk to Gloucester Road tube station and access to 3 tube lines (Circle, District & Piccadilly) - we used the tube almost daily and it was very convenient to get anywhere in London. The flat is comfortable with 2 smaller bedrooms and 1 bath and a spacious living room. We used the washing machine and dryer with no problems. The flat is below grade but has many skylights throughout making it very bright. The neighbors were very quiet and the neighborhood is very safe to walk around at night. The Natural History Museum, V&A Museum, Harrods, Kensington Gardens & Palace are all easily walkable from the flat. There are 2 grocery stores near the tube station (Tesco & Waitrose) and we used both with no issues. All in all a great location and flat - would recommend to anyone heading to London!

Superb location just a few minutes walking distance to Natural History Musuem, V&A, Albert Hall with Knightsbridge close by with the famous Harrods. 5 minutes walk to Gloucester Rd tube (District, Circle & Piccadilly lines - 30 mins to Olympic Village) and 5 minute walk to Hyde Park and Kensington High Street. There are many international restaurants and bars in the area. Quality shopping at Waitrose and nearby Sainsburys supermarket.
