Located in the heart of one of Switzerland's hidden gems, namely the Village of Champex-Lac, is the modern apartment complex of Les Mayens. This luxury Chalet Penthouse (Attic) Apartment is located in the centre of the village, providing unparalleled panoramic views of the glacial lake, and mountains, set against the backdrop of the exceptional natural beauty of the Alps. Champex-Lac is ideally located to both the French and Italian Alps.

This beautiful Swiss village has a range of restaurants for a morning coffee and croissant or a relaxing meal, where you can enjoy some of the finest Swiss food. A wonderful place for couples or families regardless of age, looking for an active or relaxing holiday.

In summer a large choice of hiking paths that are varied enough to suit all levels of ability (part of the world famous Tour du Mont Blanc). You can hire bikes, scooters, boats, pedalos, stand up paddle boards and do fishing, use the lake side play park, swim, play tennis, beach volleyball, downhill cross country scootering, cycle, or mountain bike on one of the many challenging routes.

In the winter, reliable snow cover for downhill ski, ski de fond, ice-skating, ice climbing and snowshoeing. You can also walk with the beautiful St Bernard dogs. Close proximity to many of the world famous skiing resorts like Verbier (20mins).

The living room and the large balcony of the apartment provide breath-taking panoramic views of the lake and majestic peaks of the Combins range. The living room is large and open plan and it is divided into a Kitchen, dining and living room area opening onto the balcony. The master bedroom has a large double bed and built-in cupboards as well as en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has two single beds and is very spacious. For extra storage there are further built-in cupboards available in the hallway (just opposite the second bathroom). The apartment has high ceilings and beautiful exposed beams throughout which add to the amazing cabin-like atmosphere throughout the apartment. This residence also has a private cellar and storage area for skis , snow boards and boots and a private parking space on the ground floor of the development.

How To Get There: Champex -Lac resort is serviced by excellent rail and road links, open all year (Champex-Lac, 1500m above sea level). The resort is ideally situated in the heart of Swiss Alps, 25 minutes from Verbier.

By Plane:

Champex-Lac is about 1hr 40 mins from Geneva and 30mins from Sion airport.

By Car:

By the A9 Highway to Martigny, by the Great Saint-Bernard road Tunnel; by the Forclaz and Great Saint-Bernard Mountain passes.

From Geneva Airport you are able to hire a car from numerous car rental companies and embark on the picturesque journey around Lake Geneva across to Champex which takes approximately 1hour and 45 minutes.

By Train

Train from Geneva to Martigny. Martigny to Orsieres (which connects you to the rest of Switzerland) St Bernard Bus to Champex.

We spent a week at Les Mayens in Champex. Simply the most amazing holiday we have had. The skiing conditions were great and the kids love the variety of things to do in the resort including skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing and ice-skating. The ski school was great for the kids and the slopes were not packed making it more enjoyable. Short drive to Verbier where we spent a day skiing.

Apartment is modern with the most spectacular views. Easy to book and very friendly key holder to assist with any questions.

Truly stunning penthouse and location

This is really a little bit of heaven. We had an amazing time in the flat, it is truly gorgeous, even our boys aged 13 and 16 were blown away with it, especially the view. The apartment is very spacious with its open plan layout and double height ceilings. The balcony was much used with it being bathed in sunshine (sadly the weather wasn't in our favour for the first few days). We appreciated our own bathrooms too, the apartment was super clean on arrival. The location was very central. We made great use of the mountains with great walking on the doorstep, my husband cycled most days, covering the Great St Bernard's pass, over to Verbier and to Lac de Mauvisson. The shop opposite is very well stocked and we found this very useful. This is one of the best locations and apartments we have had the joy of spending a week in, many thanks for sharing it. We will definitely be recomending it and would love to return at some point.

Summertime break in Champex Lac

we have had a wonderful stay in this apartment in July 2015 The location is excellent & the view from the penthouse overlooking the lake is stunning . It is Central to all the village amenities . The apartment is well equipped with everything you need & comes with a secure garage space & elevator up to the top floor - a godsend with loads of luggage ! The owner has been helpful throughout our booking with information & advice & booking was a really easy .process . We hope to return to Chamoex soon .

Magnificent views

I stayed together with my girlfriend in the apartment just at the beginning of the summer season in the Alps. Prepared for any weather conditions we decided to rent a flat instead of booking a hotel. Having to spend a rainy day in a small hotel room was the last thing we wanted during our short holiday break.

The apartment turned out to be a perfect solution for our needs. It's located in the very center of Champex-Lac, just vis-a-vis the grocery store, post office, ATM, tourist information and a moment away from multiple restaurants. As vivid hikers we were also very happy with the number of routes available in the area. Champex-Lac is part of the Hikers Haute Route.

However, the real highlight of the property is the amazing view of the lake opening just in front of the windows of the living room. Having the opportunity to start each and every day with a view like that was already a fantastic treat. Besides that, the flat is very well equipped in all kitchen appliances, it has a spacious living room with a TV and a DVD recorder, two bathrooms and two bedrooms (master with a bathroom attached). What's important a fast Wi-Fi connection is included and available. Ah, and not to forget a huge balcony with plenty of space to rest comfortably after long day hiking and enjoy the sunset.

Besides maybe the pillows being a bit hard, we wouldn't be able to find any downsides of this stay and can honestly recommend it. We are very much looking forward to coming back.

An idyllic and tranquil retreat high up in the Swiss mountains, Champex Lac offers a picturesque village surrounded by woods. It is an ideal location to wind down from the pressures of the modern world. This beautiful Swiss village has a range of bars and restaurants for a morning coffee and croissant or a relaxing meal with a glass of local wine.

If you feel like stretching your legs you can stroll around the lake or take one of the dozens of local hiking paths that are varied enough to suit all levels of ability. Champex Lac is a wonderful place for couples or families.
