Private home, private beach access, fits 10 people, incredible view
- English, Spanish
I am originally from New York City and enjoy living abroad and traveling internationally, in general. I raised my children in NYC and Spain. I appreciate extraordinary things and people. I fell in love with the people of Costa Rica and their land. I believe it is my/our duty to respect our environment and do good by others. I have never rented my home before but will be spending time in the US and see no reason for the house to go uninhabited. I hope you find the same peace of joy I experience while at Villa De Linda.
Why Linda chose Marbella
The Villa and surrounding property offer everything you and your family or friends need. It can be a destination location unto itself or a luxurious home base from which to see the rest of Guanacaste after taking a morning swim in either the pool or the ocean just steps away from the house. In the evening, you'll return to the most beautiful sunsets while taking an evening swim while fresh fish caught same day by the local fisherman is grilling on the outside BBQ overlooking the pool.
What makes this Villa unique
Important to note that there are ceiling fans in every room and the ceilings in the communal living areas are approx 30ft high, if not more. The house was designed to battle the heat. All windows and doors slide open to maximize ocean breezes and are tinted to keep out the sun and heat when closed. That said, the views remain unimpeded when closed. The floors are tile- there is no carpet. There is a luxury resort adjacent to the villa boasting 2 or so restaurants should you not care to eat in town. Our housekeeper is a beloved mother/grandmother, herself and can assist you with any recommendations and local information while you are there. We can also coordinate a driver to pick you and your family up at the Liberia airport and stop at the larger supermarket on the way so that you can stock up on any/all supplies. They should have everything needed. The concierge at the luxury resort next door will also help you book and coordinate excursions for you if you like. Within 5km of the villa, there is snorkeling, diving or surfing. Also you might like to take a trip to Ostional Wildlife Refuge, set up to protect nesting turtles. Or, head to San Juanillo beach considered the most beautiful beach in Guanacaste. And you might also opt to take a rainforest eco tour which is a full day excursion.

Paradise in rural Guanacaste
If you want peace, privacy, sound of surf, 2 minute walk to beach, and awesome views, this may be the place for you. Getting there can be an ordeal (but so worth it). From Liberia it's about a 2 hour drive, half on paved road and half on a very rough, hot, dusty, washboard road with very narrow one lane bridges and several places with washed out shoulder. A 4x4 is highly recommended. Not recommended for people with back problems. But when you arrive, the dusty brown world you've been in instantly changes to green with a refreshing sea breeze, spectacular views, and the sound of surf. The house is comfortable, the bedrooms have AC. The pools and grounds and house are well cared for by the very helpful and kind Wendy and Jeyson. Every couple of days we would venture out for lunch at one of the beachfront restaurants in the area and one of the mini markets, and once to go zip lining. Otherwise we were content to stay off the rough dusty road and lounge around the pools or beach. If you plan on cooking, buy a cooler, ice, and groceries at Walmart in Liberia. If you're not a Walmart fan, get over it for a day, you won't regret it. Our only complaints about the Villa were about the dismal lighting in the kitchen and the mattresses which for us were pretty uncomfortable, although neither complaint would keep me from returning. A great deal!
The outside of this place is great. The pools and the views really made it for us. We found kitchen to be very poorly lit and a bit grimey. The bathrooms were quite dark as well. Not deal breakers! The place had everything we needed. The place could be spruced up a bit more inside by the owner. YOU NEED AN SUV with all wheel drive for the roads!!! We would come back for sure.
Thank you for your review Claudia. We appreciate it and glad to know you would come back for sure. Please do, if you come back this way. We would love to have you again! Pura Vida
We enjoyed very much the site. We are pretty isolated and had the beach for ourselves, even if you can not really go for a swim. You can walk and discover the surroundings.
The price includes the services of a person who prepares your coffee, cuts fruits and cleans the house everyday. Even thought, Wendy, was a very discrete and nice person, I would have prefer to pay less and not have this service include. I think it should be optional.
The house would need a little care. It is a very dark house, built with dark rocks (volcanic?). The kitchen needs more lighting. Wendy and Geyson, the employees, changed the light bulbs for us but it was still insufficient. They are very helpful but you have to ask for things. We had to ask to clean the pool, which was done the same day but if we did not, what would have happen?
The plumbery is also a problem. If you take a shower in the master room bathroom, the water from the drain comes up in the shower and sink of the bathroom next to the dining room with a stinking smell. The doors and screens need to be kept up. It sure has to do with being close to the sea. They do not slide easily.
We want to point out that the service of the managers was perfect. Leah who welcomed us, gave us good tips about the activities, interesting spots, etc. She was answering fast to our requests (cleaning of the pool, changing the gas tank, etc.). We also met Zac on our day of arrival, who also give us some interesting things to do and showed us monkeys that we could not find. His boat tour was also very educative.
We surely recommend this house but it needs a little bit more care.
Good Morning Annick,
Thank you kindly for your feedback on the house, we take our care very seriously and am happy to make some changes based upon your recommendations. We are happy you reviewed and did have a nice stay. Stay up to date by finding our page on Facebook and see the upgrades and additions we make to the property before December. Have a wonderful day - Jessica- Blue Beach Property Manager.
Excellent property and exceptional management / staff
This is a great property, as described - well maintained and spacious. Jessica, Zak, Wendy and Jason were all wonderful and very helpful. We loved the cut fruit every morning - what a treat.
The pools were perfect! We swam in the ocean end enjoyed the amazing beach.
Wifi worked well. Kitchen is fairly well stocked (could use a few more pots), lots of linens for pool as well as house.
We enjoyed the area, going on tours both north and south - thanks to Jessica for the great tips!
A wonderful, relaxing stay!
Villa De Linda
The Guanacaste Private Beach picture is exactly as it is in real life. The grounds are beautiful, the staff was extremely helpful and the house is set up nicely for a family of 6 adults and one child. This was a trip of a lifetime, all made better by staying at this property.
Diane and Bruce
Diane and Bruce, Thank you for your wonderful feedback. It was wonderful having you and your family as our guests and we do hope to see you again in the future. Take care, Linda
The views are amazing! The pool is lovely and deep enough to swim laps. Wonderful experience
Wonderful experience, Food at the local restaurants is fantastic. We spent 12 days here. The property managers, Leah, Jessica, Zac and Michael are all fantastic. They all can make your trip by getting involved with zip lining, riverboat Tours and of course deep-sea fishing. We caught two beautiful yellow fin tuna, filleted the tuna on the boat and ate it with in minutes after catching two. How cool is that. We saw monkeys, crocodiles, the most amazing colorful birds and the staff of Villa to Linda made it all happen for us. We travel a lot and this is one of the better places we have stayed at, anywhere! This place is truly special and it is remote enough to have an experience that was wonderful. Diane and Jeff
We can arrange for you to be picked up at Liberia Airport by a trusted driver should you opt not to rent a car in Liberia however we encourage you to rent a vehicle as it gives you the freedom to enjoy tours, restaurants and beaches on your time frame. Should you require a transport vehicle, he/she will stop for groceries for you to pick up. Within 5km of the villa, there is snorkeling, diving or surfing. Also, you might like to take a trip to Ostional Wildlife Refuge, set up to protect nesting turtles. Or, head to San Juanillo beach considered the most beautiful beach in Guanacaste. And you might also opt to take a rainforest eco tour or a tour to the volcano which is a full day excursion, 6:00 am - 11:00 pm.
