Thank you for a fantastic 7 days in your beautiful cottage. We will truly miss lounging by your delightful pool, popping in for a swim or reaching for another glass of rose! You made us feel very welcome. We have had a lovely balance of relaxation/sightseeing and would definitely recommend the Gorge and Villecroze and Tourtour.
I have stayed twice with Irene and Catherine, once with my girlfriend, the other time with my 20 year old son. I have been to France about 7-8 times, and can state unequivocally that I have never had a more enjoyable and genuine experience than I had when while staying with them at their charming B&B in Cotignac. Irene and Catherine went out of their away to assure that I, and my respective guests, were comfortable with our lodgings and amenities. The room itself was beautifully appointed and spacious. It overlooks the pool and patio, which, in the early morning and evening, makes a perfect setting to eat a delicious breakfast, go from a refreshing swim, or simply lounge in the sun and marvel at the surroundings. Irene and Catherine were extremely helpful in suggesting sights for us to tour and shop. They are close friends with many of the local shopkeepers. My 'guests' and I often walked to town, and even went for an occasional jog alongside the rolling hills and vineyards. If you are looking for an opportunity to truly experience the real essence of Provence, then this is the place to go!!! I highly recommend this wonderful B&B!
This place is amazing. We stayed for 2 nights, and found that there was everything we needed, from a huge collection of DVDs, plenty of fresh towels and bed linen, a very well stocked and supplied kitchen, BBQ, swimming pool... the list goes on and on. The local town, Cotignac, is beautiful with lovely restaurants, shops and sights. The location is perfect to venture further afield as well to visit Verdon Gorge, (A must!) Entrechateux, Lorgues, and much more.
But of course, all of this would be nothing without the welcoming, attentive and genuine hosts Irene and Caterine. Our plane was delayed, and we didn't end up arriving till very late, but they not only stayed up to welcome us, but bought us breakfast items so we wouldn't have to worry about it the next morning. They really did go above and beyond: a perfect mix of friendly & attentive yet respectful of our privacy.
There are plenty of lovely looking places available to stay on homeaway, and lots of other websites too, but very few will have hosts who genuinely care about whether your stay is mediocre (ie: you wont put a bad review online) or amazing. This is one of those special places where you will want to go back again and again. You will not regret booking. We are definitely doing so, and staying much longer!
Thank you Catherine and Irene for a truly unforgettable stay. The studio apartment was perfect. Our favorite days were riding the bikes through the vineyards, wine tasting at the surrounding wineries and then lounging beside the pool. Heaven! Of course, spending the day in the village, having a delicious lunch at one of the great restaurants and taking in the local culture wasn't too bad either. The beautiful Gorges du Verdon was such a wonderful day trip. There are so many places to see and experience near by, your location couldn't be any better.
The apartment was so comfortable and quiet. You have thought of everything! The kitchen had everything we might possibly have needed and it was great to have a BBQ to use on the nights we wanted to stay in. You even provided us with amazing sunsets every night! Incredible!
My first visit to France, but definitely not my last. Thank you.
Be warned ... only stay here if you want a perfect spot, with delightful hosts, fabulous breakfasts, a gorgeous little cottage and a the most inviting pool.
Location fantastic for getting around Provence.
We are newlyweds and we came to stay here for our honeymoon. It was an absolute gem!!
We cannot sing Irene and Catherines praises high enough. We received such a warm welcome and they went out of there way to make sure our stay was very special.
Breakfast was great and we never got the same breakfast twice in the 10 days we stayed.
Contignac is just a short bike ride away and the town itself has a lot to offer.
To be honest though we found little need to venture far from the poolside and garden!!
Hope to be back again soon!!
My sister and I arrived the end of September to this wonderfully peaceful property. It is more beautiful than the pictures. Irene & Catherine, the hostesses were very accomodating and went out of their way to make sure our stay was pleasant. The meals were delicious and every morning we had fresh baked good, fruit, cheeses, etc from the local village. So French! The grounds are emaculant and so quiet. The owners serve olive oil from their own olive trees which was out of this world! The room was large, clean and tastefully decorated. They even provided things like toothpaste, hair dryer, shampoo in case you forgot yours. No phone or tv which was a nice change. The nearby village of Cotignac is quant and very "French" with several shops, and places to eat. It was fun strolling the streets. The people are friendly and happy. The location is within 1-2 hr drive from Nice, Monte Carlo, and lots of other larger cities. The roads are very good. We loved going on drives to the different towns and villages and were so lucky that we found this hidden gem. If you want a beautiful setting, to write, read, paint or just enjoy nature, this is it. You won't be disappointed.
