Quiet place to unwind
We came to CO to hike in the mountains all day and so really just needed a place to sleep. The room was wonderful, the bathroom clean and perfect for our needs, and the little kitchenette was an added bonus. Wendy checked on us every day to ensure we didn’t need anything, and stocked our kitchenette with fresh fruit and little homemade treats every day as well! I would have appreciate a lock on the door to the main house to lock while sleeping at night, and the mattress was a little hard but we were so exhausted we didn’t notice much. Other than those very small details it was wonderful! The hot tub was amazing after hiking all day as well!

Wonderful, peaceful, secret hideaway!
What a hidden gem! This guest suite is quite the find for the person looking for serenity, peace, and reconnecting to mother nature. I am so hesitant to say how wonderful my stay was because I want to keep it all to myself! The owners are the kindest folks and very accommodating. Wendy's fresh breads in the mornings were such a treat to enjoy. The town of Jamestown is rich with history and wonderfully friendly folks. I loved my foot soaks in the river, exploring the Blue Jay mine, the old cemetery, and nearby mtn bike trails. I will absolutely stay here again if possible. Great energy & good vibes all around!! Save me a spot for next time, Wendy! :)

About the host

We are a retired couple who have lived in the area for many years. We met as lab partners at the University of Colorado and have been here ever since except for times in grad school or traveling. Tim is from from southern CO and Wendy originally from New England. We raised our 2 sons here in Jamestown (where there is a small 4-room school house for 30 kids).

Why they chose this property

When Jamestown experienced the devastating flood of 2013, we rebuilt our home on this beautiful site. Our old home was one of 17 structures that got washed away. We can still see and hear the creek but are out of the floodway! The sun and the views make the property very attractive. You may be as private as you like.

What makes this property unique

We built the new home using plenty of pine interior, and it has a very spacious open feeling. The guest room area can be closed for privacy, and visitors can come and go with their private entrance. The best thing are the views, overlooking the large park, and being able to access nearby walking trails so easily. The local cafe, "The Jamestown Merc", serves delicious food and allows visitors a view into the mountain folk and the community's warmth that make a Jamestown unique place. The Merc serves brunch on the weekends, and has live music and a modest dinner selection all evenings, with a sumptuous meal for Thursday night dinners. Friday is pizza night.
